Chapter 15

"I'm okay"

"Are you sure you don't want us to come over?", Mum asks.

"Mum she said she's okay", Faye says in the background.

I laugh, "alia came with cookies,donuts and ice cream yesterday and we talked so I'm pretty sure I'm alright"

"And Sebastian?"

"He is doing a good job of protecting me. One week and three days no harm"

"Okay", she sighs, "love you bye", she reluctantly hangs up.

I keep my phone in the pockets of my jeans and go to my room before putting on sneakers and a light blue top and picking up my keys.

"Are you ready Sebastian?", I ask as I lock the door to my apartment and turn to the smiling guard.

He nods, "are we going to that place we went to last week?"

"Yes", "sigh and I feel really hungry, "how could we not? they have the best pancakes and acai bowls in the whole universe", I gush.

"Oh I can't wait", he says and we enter the elevator.

Today is the second week of our weekly Wednesday outing breakfast which started last week. We leave the elevators and go straight to the apartment parking lot. I immediately find the black Porsche that I left the castle with which belonged to Noel.

I slide in the drivers seat as Sebastian slides into the passenger seat.

"Seat belts", I remind and drive off after he buckles his.

It takes twenty minutes for us to reach the breakfast bunch. We enter and walk over to the counter, the red haired who served us last week and who I suspected has a crush on Sebastian smiled at us...well more of Sebastian than me.

"Welcome to breakfast bunch should I get you what you got last week?" She says still smiling at Sebastian.

He nods as I let out a yes and she writes in a notepad before we go to sit in a booth.

"She has a crush on you Sebastian", I tease and he rolls his eyes.

"I'm not here for a relationship, I'm here to protect you"

I scoff and wave his comment off, "you're probably staying till the end of summer so you might as well get something going before you leave"

He groans and pinch the bridge of his nose, "miss Odetta you're not really going to make me go by the end of summer"

"As a matter of fact,I am"

"I thought you established the fact that I'm protecting you till Christmas with your father"

"Key word being you 'thought'"

"Your father will have my head if I leave even an hour before December 15th"

"You just tell him that they're my orders"

"You don't pay me"

"Another reason why you shouldn't risk your life for me"

"It's my job"

"What will you do when I start my job for teaching kindergarten students, will you come along and traumatize them?"

"When the time comes we—"

"Here you go", the red haired mutters as she places our food in front of us, "enjoy", she chirps before looking at a very oblivious Sebastian and leaving.

We both had pancakes and acai bowls but mine were topped with oatmeal,sliced almonds,sliced strawberries and frozen blue berries while Sebastian's were topped with crushed granola, sliced banana and coconut chips.

"Oh—my—stars", I groan out, "this is so lovely"

"I know right", Sebastian says as he stuffs his face.

"Javier would have loved this"

Sebastian stops eating and looks at me, "it's been more than two week, you can stop mourning now"

"Does he miss me?"

"Well I have no answers", he shrugs.

"Maybe I'll go to the capital for Christmas", I suggest.

"Noooo", Sebastian groans, "I'll have to follow you there"

"Come on the capital is awesome"

"I have never been there so I really don't know...all I know is that it's really busy and far"

"It's just six hours and besides apart from seeing Javier, it's been ten years since I last went there to see my grandparents"

"You have grandparents?"

"You know—my father and mother were just created and put in the world like that with parents—awesome isn't it?" I deadpan at him.

"It was just a question", he murmurs

"Both my grandparents live in the capital and are neighbours so it was easier to see them when we visited"

I look at my finished plate of pancake and barely remaining bowl of acai.

"Can we order some more?"

I shake my head, "we'll just get fat"

"Correction you'll get fat while I'll work out and remain built"

"So the answer is no, let's go"

I pay for both our breakfast after Sebastian and I argue about who pays for who and I win.

"You do know that you can rest in your apartment, it's just opposite mine and you can still protect me", I tell him when we reach my apartment and he takes his position in front of my door.

"It's my job and I can't let anything happen to you"

I just sigh because I never win this argument and I enter my apartment. For an hour straight, I just talk to my self and wish that I did have more friends and my only close to friend is a human, daisy, who is currently on a world trip with her beau. So I mentally note to go out and make friends tomorrow.

"What to do, what to do" I mutter to myself after I finish my current book '8th confession' by James Patterson.

"I'm a grown twenty four year old woman turning twenty five in two months and I have no friends, no hobbies and no ambitions...what am I doing with my life?" I mutter.

"Might as well do the laundry"

I stuff the last batch of clothes in my washing machine before turning it on and just humming to my self and watching the clothes turn.

"Miss Odetta?", I hear Sebastian call out.

I go to the sitting room to see Sebastian peeking his head out from behind the door.

"You called?"

"There's someone here to see you should I let him in?"

"Who is it?"

"It's alpha—", He starts to say but is cut off.

"Casper", alpha Casper completes as pushes into the room.

"Thank you Sebastian", I say as he shuts the door leaving alpha Casper and I.

"Why are you here?"

"Javier is miserable", he simply says.

"I don't like you but my son needs you so much so please come with me", he pleads.

"Your style of pleading really convinces me", I roll my eyes at him.

"I'm not joking Odetta...I'm quite serious"

I narrow my eyes back at him and return his scowl.

"Is he okay?", I finally ask.

He shrugs, "I'll jut say that he's going through life right now"

"I really can't go with you"

"Why?"

"I don't want to get to attached and Javier makes that impossible. it's going to be too devastating when we part again"

"Don't give me that bullshit Odetta", he raises his voice, "you two are already attached so don't make things painful for both of you and come with me"

I bite my lips and contemplate.

"Look Odetta...if it's because of me,I can stay out of your way, I can tolerate you, I can stop being terrible towards, fuck...I'll change just for you to come for my son"

I honestly couldn't say anything. He was looking at me with so much hope and i was really still thinking of saying no.

I think he saw hesitation in my eyes because he continued talking and raised his voice, "is it because of mason?", He runs his hand through his blond hair "I'll fucking protect you, I'll make sure that fucking bastard doesn't touch you and if he does, I swear I'll kill him", he looks at me in the eyes this time and this might have been the first time I really looked at his eyes.

"I can't leave Javier for more than a day so please—please decide now so we can leave early"

I don't think I just talk and I give him my answer.
