Chancellor Aveline carefully observed the proceedings. "This was the thirtieth participant," he noted, making a record on a parchment as he kept a watchful eye on the remaining competitors. Time was running out, and only the last three participants were left to enter the temple.

The results of the First Trial had taken the Ice Wolf clan by surprise due to the remarkable strength of the participants, particularly Azztar Echo. Chancellor Aveline had left immediately after the First Trial to gather information about the mysterious man, discovering his southern origins in the ravaged Mossgarde Kingdom.
