Chapter 02 Fallen Genius

"The Lieutenant won't be happy about this," the first officer said as he picked up his gun at Shung Yun's side.

"We had no choice," the second officer said as he looked at Shung Yun's corpse, "he was something else."

"Where's this place?" Shung Yun said as he looked around him.

"Is it the realm between the living and the dead?" he said as he looked above him.

Seeing nothing but darkness around him, Shung Yun felt calmness and …..

"Peace," he said as he laid on the crystalline floor.

"The voices are all gone," he said while staring at the dark void above him.

"What is that?" Shung Yun said as he looked at the white portal forming in the dark void.

"It...it's calling to me?" he said as he stood up from the crystalline floor.

"So appealing," feeling drawn to the white portal, he said as he kept his eyes on it.

"But what if the voices come back?" he muttered as he kept looking at the white portal, "the peace and calmness I'm feeling right now will be gone, and my days of torment will once again begin."

Resisting the portal's call and laying back down on the crystalline ground, Shung Yun shut his eyes as he began remembering everything about his previous life.

After what felt like eternity to Shung Yun, he suddenly sat back up.

"This is not the type of peace I want," he said as he looked around him.

"I want to hear the godly song that made me experience peace for the first time in my life," he said as he stood up.

"And I know I can't find it here," walking towards the white portal, Shung Yun tried to remember the song that shut off the unpleasant voices he felt from young.

Whwhhdh!

"Aaaaahhh!!" a painful shriek sounded out as Shung Yun fell into a hole that opened in the crystalline ground, crashing with the soul that was about to enter into the realm between life and death and destroying it.

"Lord Hades," a giant being with the body of a human and the face of a wolf bowed to the old man sitting on a throne.

"What is it?" lord Hades asked.

"An abnormality occurred in the realm between life and death," the wolf headed giant human said.

"What kind of abnormality?" lord Hades asked.

"A soul already in the realm between life and dead got caught up in the ascension of another soul, leading to the destruction of the weaker soul, the ascending soul, and transmitting the stronger soul to the weaker soul's body," the wolf headed giant human said.

"Didn't the soul leave when the portal formed?" lord Hades asked.

"He didn't," the wolf headed giant human said.

"What world was the weaker soul from?" lord Hades asked.

"Zhung Xiu World," the wolf headed giant human said.

"You don't have to take any action, the cultivators from Zhung Xiu World will take care of him if he becomes troublesome," lord Hades said as he waved away the wolf headed giant human.

Bowing once again, the wolf headed giant human left.

"Another abnormality in only twelve thousand years," lord Hades muttered as he rested his head on his left hand, "I wonder if the prophecy is about to occur."

"Big brother! Big brother please wake up!" a girl of fourteen cried as she placed her hands on the bleeding stomach of her brother.

"Hhheeh!" taking a deep breath, Shung Yun felt pains on his stomach as he woke up.

"Big brother, you're awake," the girl of fourteen said as she smiled at Shung Yun.

"She must be Shung Li," Shung Yun thought as he saw the little sister of the previous owner of this body.

"Sucks thinking that," having that thought zoom past his consciousness, he asked, "how long was I out?"

"It has been seven minutes since I found big brother like this," Shung Li said.

"That means I've been out for longer," Shung Yun said as he sat up.

"Big brother should be careful," Shung Li hurriedly said as she helped Shung Yun in sitting up.

"I can relate to why her brother decided to take his own life," Shung Yun thought as he obtained all of the memories of Shung Li's brother after absorbing his destroyed soul, "falling from being one of the most talented descendants in the clan to a descendant without a future."

"Let go meet the clan's doctor," Shung Li said to Shung Yun.

"Won't it be better if he comes to us?" Shung Yun said as he began standing up.

"He won't give special treatment to a descendant who has no future," Shung Li said as she helped Shung Yun up.

"Haven't what your broth….," stopping himself from continuing, he said, "haven't what I've done, enough for the clan to still give me special treatments?"

"Why is big brother speaking this way? Isn't it because the clan no longer pays attention to you that you decided to kill yourself?" Shung Li said as she assisted Shung Yun in walking out of the house.

"Some challenges call for drastic measures," Shung Yun said as he frowned.

"Are you okay?" Shung Li asked as she noticed the frown on Shang Yun's face.

"I'm fine," not giving any explanation to Shung Li, Shung Yun frown turned into bewilderment.

"The whispers are getting louder," he thought as a sad expression replaced his bewilderment expression, "the voices. They're back."

"Looks like the fallen genius tried committing suicide, how unfortunate for him to survive," a male teenager of seventeen said with a smirk on his face.

"You should be careful how you speak; he still has some supports in the clan," another male teenager of nineteen cautioned.

"Says the person who laughed still veins appeared on your forehead the day he was found to not have a dantian," the seventeen years old male teenager said.

"And I got my two hands broken because of that," the nineteen years old male teenager blurted out.

"Wait, I thought you said you fell?" the seventeen years old teenager asked.

"That means you were attacked by someone who supports the fall...., I mean, Shung Yun," the seventeen years old teenager said as he nervously looked around.

"Don't tell anyone that someone broke my hands," the nineteen years old teenager warned.

"We could save some descendant who usually mocks Shung Yun," the seventeen years old teenager said.

"When did you turn into a savior? See, it's better to mind your business before you get yourself into trouble," the nineteen years old teenager said.

"I will come back to check on you," the clan doctor said as he left Shung Yu in the room.

Closing his eyes after the doctor left, Shung Yun focused on the voices in his head.

"So that's why I couldn't understand what they were saying before," understanding the reason the voices were so unbearable before, Shung Yun began differentiating the voices from each other.

"The voices weren't speaking the language I spoke in my previous life, they were speaking the language of Zhung Xia World," finalizing that, Shung Yun kept listening to the voices, making sure to understand every word spoken.

Getting drawn by the voices as he focused intensely on it, his consciousness gradually drifted away from reality before arriving in the middle of a gigantic palace.

"Who are you guys?" staring at the six humans in front of him, Shung Yun asked.
