1 [Cometh]

The world in which you live, how many do you think are like it? If the number of infinite alternative realities, often referred to simply as the multiverse, is infinite, then the number of exactly the same versions as you also reaches infinity. Infinity is not a number, it is a concept. However, unlike most mathematicians think, infinity is not strictly speaking just an endless order of a certain magnitude. Infinity, on the universal scale, is everything, even something that is nothing and therefore does not exist is part of infinity. It's like categorizing every last molecule, atom and breed of dog under one category and name.

Some regard it as some manner of philosophy, but, infinity is not just a concept minds of the high-dimensional entities came up with. Those aware of the unlimited energy that always perpetuated the birth of things are aware of this universal infinity's true name. They came to call it: The Madness, as no matter how much even gods struggled to comprehend it, the sheer scale of infinity, true infinity, is even beyond them.

There is no core to the infinity, as that would imply that it has a centre, and therefore must have an end. Infinity is the same everywhere, across every time, space, and dimension. It's like the blood of gods flowing through reality, untouchable by even divine hands.

So, a question remains. What is the point of something that not even gods can interact with? Every construct has a purpose, every event has a premonition that it has to set into motion, yet, The Madness simply had no such thing... at least, not in the minds of the divine.

What none know, is that The Madness itself has a conscience, the infinity... is sentient. But, on a level, human minds cannot understand. Its thoughts operate on a level above quantum computers, it knows the beginning, the end and what comes after. Matter, time, space, void, everything that is and isn't was born from The Madness. The Madness, in the most down to Earth explanation, was the mother and the father of everything. And with so many children, it couldn't help but play favourites with the ones that amuse it.

"My name is Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière. Pentagon of the five elemental power. Heed my summoning..."

Ah, there's one right now... her soft, high-pitched voice echoed evanescently across not one, but many of the infinite worlds, searching for something it could not yet find.

"My servant that existed somewhere in this vast universe, my divine, beautiful, wise, powerful servant, heed my call..."

The voice searched and searched, but nothing it found suited the speaker's criteria. There was someone that fit, for sure, however, that person was beyond the voice's reach. This... would not do. A child of The Madness was like a spoiled rich kid, even without them knowing and even with fate stacked against them, The Madness of Infinity will always hold their hand.

"I wish from the very bottom of my heart and add to my guidance and appear!"

And so, a spark resounded across the infinite blackness of the outer void, the place that doesn't exist between dimensions. A crack followed as the spark roared to life in a silent cry, and a shape was created. There was no up, no down, no when and no where in the void. So this humanoid figure could very well just be lightyears in diameter, or smaller than an atom.

"In the sea without lees... Standeth the bird of Hermes..."

The figure of what was once genderless, faceless and plain glowing figure shifted. The light exploded in a brisk supernova, and what was left was a male figure. Its very existence distorted briefly as muscle fibres were added, condensed and strengthened. The male had no features, no face, no hair, no nothing. It was a body without detail. Until... it shifted again, and now, the figure took the form of a handsome, young man with a lean but athletic body. Face, genitals and hair were added.

"Eating his wings variable... And maketh himself yet full stable..."

But the man's appearance would not remain normal for long, as six massive wings burst from his back. They were large but could grow smaller at will. Once pearly white in colour, now changed to obsidian black. Two red horns followed from the top of the man's head, protruding from his black hair.

"When all his feathers be from him gone... He standeth still here as a stone..."

The large, even colossal wings receded into the man's muscled back and faded into a black tattoo of their image. Six black wings, each at a slight angle connected to a single black circle.

"Here is now both white and red... And all so the stone to quicken the dead..."

Unexplainably, a deep, long inhale could be heard across the pitch-black darkness, then, followed by an even longer exhale as the man's chest heaved, and for the first time, life was created directly inside nowhere.

"All and some without fable... Both hard and soft and malleable..."

The man's eyes remained closed as he took in deep breaths despite there being no oxygen around. Clothes formed around the man's nude body, and his pale body became covered by a stylish outfit from the 21st century Earth. A pure-white trench coat beneath which rested a black button-up shirt, a black leather belt with a golden buckle holding up the man's black pants, and finally, the outfit was topped off by black dress shoes.

"Understand now well and right... And thank you God for this sight..."

Finally, the man's eyes opened, revealing two bright red orbs that worked as the only source of illumination in the vast oblivion. His eyes scanned around, looking for something... someone perhaps... the voice... THE VOICE! He needs to find the voice! The girl! The woman! That... that... person... Whoever she was... His... MASTER...

The man exhaled, then inhaled, and opened his mouth to speak, revealing two rows of jagged, sharp teeth. His words would not be heard by anyone here, but, the weight they carried was nevertheless heavy, almost... divine, nature.

...

...

...

"The bird of Hermes is my name... Eating my wings to make me tame..."
