4 Punishment 004

Pushing open the door of her home, she collapsed heavily onto the sofa, her body worn out. On the table was the ravioli she had brought back earlier. Its broth had been completely absorbed and had solidified into a mass. From its quantity, it was obvious that Tobias had not touched it.

Olivia Taylor exhaled a long breath, took out a medical box from a cabinet, and prepared to bandage herself. But she struggled to secure the bandage with just one hand and ended up sweating profusely in angst.

She remembered how she had once suffered severe injuries to protect Tobias Perkins. Three of her ribs were broken, her pinky fractured, and the knife wound was only an inch away from her heart. She lay unconscious in the Intensive Care Unit.

When she woke up, she saw Tobias kissing the gauze on her hand. Regret was seen in every aspect of his face and even his voice had gone hoarse, "Olivia, marry me, please."

She almost passed out again after hearing this. She could only comply when he said, "I saw the doctor wielding your critical condition notice and I didn't even have the right to sign it. Marry me and I will never let you be hurt again!"

No woman could resist such a proposal and so she willingly married Tobias.

Shortly after their marriage, he paid meticulous care and didn't let her go to the company anymore. She was only responsible for conducting experiments at NEO. Even though she was somewhat hurt from time to time, he would personally bandage her wounds and comfort her in a soft voice, "Olivia, don't be in pain, it's my fault for not protecting you."

Thinking about it made Olivia feel a lump in her throat. Frustrated with a bandage that hadn't been wrapped well after trying for quite a while, and seeing that the wound had stopped bleeding, she simply threw the bandage aside.

The bedroom door was pushed open from the outside, Tobias' tall figure blocked half of the moonlight. He walked up to Olivia. His black-colored pupils were deep and profound. His palm facing upwards, he held out his hand toward her.

Olivia couldn't help but shrink back. She knew that what she did today would irritate him. Now, he was here to punish her.

"Hand it over." Tobias saw her hesitate and ordered in a low voice.

She pursed her bloodless lips, taking the car keys out of her pocket and gently placed them in his palm.

Tobias raised his eyebrows but didn't even look at the keys before tossing them aside. He took the bandage from the table and skilfully began to wrap her wounded arm. His actions were neither too gentle nor too rough.

From Olivia's view, she could only see his high-bridged nose, and she couldn't make out his expression. Feeling a bit bold she feigned whimpering, "It hurts..."

"You knew it hurts, yet you still stuck in the rain that long." Tobias was quick with his hands, his deep voice tinged with an air of annoyance.

Olivia wanted to retort: If you knew I was injured, why did you let me drive your precious car? Was it specifically so I could feel the pain?

"What happened today?" He stood up, his lean silhouette blurred in the backlight; his expression unreadable.

"My arm was hurting and I lost control of the car." She averted his gaze, her weak voice revealing her guilt.

Today, Tobias seemed to be in a restless mood, not interested in going through all the details. He spoke indifferently,"Olivia, if you do wrong, you must be punished."

Olivia's face instantly turned pale realizing what the punishment meant. He had not subjected her to this kind of punishment since they got married. Was he seriously ready to have a fallout with her over a short-term lover?

"Tobias, can I…"

"No." He firmly rejected her plea.

Tobias pulled open the basement door, revealing a chilling, endless darkness from within. He looked at Olivia who had started to tremble and said, "Go in, don't wait for me to lose my temper."
