CHAPTER 5 Testing Her Loyalty.

  NATASHA'S POV:-

The very next morning, Bryan and I arrived at the party meeting. My eyes went wide as I saw Mr Angus Rutherford standing in front of the meeting hall. As soon as he saw Bryan walking toward him, he opened his arms wide and a proud smile appeared on his face. My heart clenched at the thought. "Even that bastard is blessed with parents who appreciate his existence. I know that questioning my God's will is a sin. But I can't help myself but ask, why me?" The thought crossed my mind almost instantly.

I gulped hard and apologized to my God for questioning his will. "Welcome, my son. I didn't peel my eyes off of those gates until you finally emerged from them." Mr Rutherford spoke out loudly and proudly to his son.

Along with my saliva, I gulped down any of those ridiculous questions that emerged in my mind. "At least, I have Ali with me. After marrying him, I will be my own person. No one would look at me with disgust. And daddy will be proud too." I reminded myself of the reward for all the hardships I went through since I was a child.

Bryan pulled away from his father and gave him an awkward smile. I was about to follow him when a guard stopped me. I pulled my badge out and showed it to the guard. "I am here as Mr Bryan Rutherford Jr's guard. Out of my way." I growled at the guard but he didn't budge.

"Let her in, Samuel!" Bryan ordered the guard and all eyes turned in Bryan's direction.

"The whole world is aware of her. She is Malik, one of your rivals. What have you been thinking?" The chief of the party questioned Bryan angrily and I rolled my eyes at them.

Bryan walked toward me with a smug look on his face. "Her loyalty is only for me." Bryan spoke as he pushed the guard aside and grabbed my hand. "Isn't it right, detective Malik?" Bryan asked me in a taunting tone and I fought the urge to kick his balls.

"Yes, Mr Rutherford." I gave him the answer he wanted to hear so badly. Bryan pulled me into the meeting room and made me sit beside him.

"She will watch, she will hear, but she won't speak. It's her job." Bryan added tauntingly and my insides were on fire again. One of his arms fell on my shoulders and he pulled my chair closer to his. "Isn't it right, Natasha?" He asked me as I didn't respond to him for a while.

I grabbed his hand and pushed his arm off of my shoulders. "Don't tempt me, Bryan. You have no idea what I can actually do." I growled at him while staring into his eyes. He was looking at my face. He didn't tear his eyes away from my gaze. Growling in annoyance, I turned away from him. I could almost imagine him smirking at me. But I decided not to look.

  -----------------

A few hours later, I was attending my prayer in the hall. I turned my head and found Bryan sitting on one of the chairs and staring at me. The look on his face suddenly made my heart skip a beat. I gritted my teeth at that reaction. "Now what do you want from me?" I growled

At him as I stood up.

It looked like my voice pulled him out of the daze he was lost in. He shook his head and cleared his throat. "If you are done begging your God for my death, we have to leave right now. We are late for the store's inauguration." He growled at me in an annoyed tone and turned his face away.

Rolling my eyes at him, I walked toward him as I placed my gun and my shield where they were supposed to be. "You dream about too many things. I don't pray for nobodies." I shot at him angrily as I walked ahead of him. I heard him growling as I pulled the car keys out.

I was assigned to be his bodyguard. But I never thought I would be his personal secretary.

After about half an hour, I pulled the car in front of the mall where he was expected to be. I stepped out of the car and leaned against the bonnet of the car. I know Bryan was waiting for me to open the door for him. But I was not his slave.

Five minutes later, he stepped out of the car, glaring at me. He slammed the door shut and without looking at me, started walking toward the mall. I rolled my eyes at him and followed him behind. I tossed the keys to a valet.

"Mr Rutherford Jr. It's a pleasure meeting you. You look exactly like your father." The store owner greeted Bryan as soon as he watched Bryan walking toward his store. After the inauguration of the store, the owner decided to give Bryan a tour. I was dragging my feet, following him.

I was bored and exhausted at the same time. That was until my eyes fell on a certain someone. A wide smile spread across my face and I followed him. I watched Ali stepping out of a boutique that was right in front of the store I was in.

I tapped his shoulder and he turned around. As soon as Ali saw me, he smiled widely. "Hey! What are you doing here?" Ali asked me as he wrapped one of his arms around my shoulders and hugged me.

"I am here with the Hitler for inauguration of that store." I replied to Ali and pointed my finger at the store where Bryan was. "What are you doing in a boutique? Were you here to flirt with that stunning saleswoman that we saw last time?" I asked him in a teasing tone and Ali's cheeks turned pink.

"A: That woman no longer works in this boutique. B: I have no interest in any other women." Ali replied to me in an annoyed tone but his tone and I giggled. " And C: There is not a single woman in this world who can come anywhere near the beauty you are born with." His tone turned honey sweet as he spoke out that last sentence.

Biting my lower lip, I giggled shyly. "I have missed you so much in the last three days." I whispered softly, staring into his eyes. Ali leaned in and placed a soft kiss on the top of my head.

"I miss you too." He whispered back.

"I will call you tonight. We can talk for hours. And share our days on the phone. What do you say?" I asked him and he raised an eyebrow.

"What, your Hitler boss will let you talk to me?" He asked and I rolled my eyes at him.

"I have a separate room, you know." I growled at him and he chuckled.

"I have to go for now. I will see you again on Sunday." I added and Ali nodded his head. He pecked my forehead one last time then walked away.
