I hung up the phone furiously. “Why does Avery complain so much? Isn’t she tired of doing it all the time?”

I shook my head and got up impatiently, then got changed. An hour later, I rushed back to the Benton family home.

Staring at the gate, I felt a lump forming in my throat.

I had a lot of beautiful memories about my family, friends, and loved ones in this house. This house had always been my haven. However, ever since Avery came into my life, everything had changed.

I sighed and walked inside slowly.

Aunt Swan was still as friendly as ever. However, she seemed a little older since the last time we met. When she saw me, she respectfully greeted, "Ms. Benton."

I nodded and went to the living room.

The atmosphere in the living room was peculiar. Avery only sat there quietly, and to my surprise, she was not crying.

I frowned. “What the hell is this? Has she fixed her attitude?”
