Chapter 43: Stuck in Traffic
Ivy was stuck in traffic while she drove home from work, it was so terrible that she kept on sighing when she noticed the traffic only affected the road that led to Mexico.
After waiting for two hours in the traffic, she decided to call Mrs Camille. She picked up her phone and dailed her mother's contact, luckily she picked up on the fourth ring.
" Hi mum " Ivy greeted in a very quiet tone as it was easy to point out the fact that she was tired.
" Ivy...why are you not home yet? and why do you sound tired? " Mrs Camille asked anxiously.
" Mum, I am so stuck in traffic right now and I do not think I will be back tonight " Ivy said as she thought of where to go spend the night.
" What! What do you mean by that? Where do you intend on going " Mrs Camille asked again as she got worried and looked at the time, Gosh, it was almost eleven in the night.
Ivy wondered where she would spend the night and definitely she could not go to a motel because she was not with her card and she had reached her transfer limit. Her friends were out of the town so that was not an option.
' Damn, this is so complicated ' Ivy said to herself as she rested her head on the steering wheel.
" Are you there Ivy? You have not answered my question " Mrs Camille asked.
" Mum, I really do not get why you are pressurizing me and locking me up, I have come of age okay? and do not get worried, I will spend the night at Gavriel's house, are you happy? " Ivy said as she arranged her fallen hair at the back of her ear.
" Ivy, I am your mother and every mother is always worried about their child's welfare and whereabout no matter the age of that child, but that does not mean I am locking you up, you are free to go to wherever you want to go but why I am concerned us because it is too late, just check your time it is almost eleven and you are still in the road, it is dangerous but since you said you will be at you brother's house then I would not be worried anymore, just make sure you stay there with him and tell him to come home this weekend " Mrs Camille explains as she could not believe her daughter thought she was locking her up.
" Okay Mum, I understand and I will do as you have said... Bye I am tired right now, I will drive straight to Gavriel's house now and tell him what you said " Ivy said as she raised he head from the steering and stretched her right hand.
" Okay dear, when you get there make sure to have you bath and rest well okay? and do not forget to eat before you sleep, Call me when you get there, Goodnight my darling " Mrs Camille finally says as she hangs up the call.
Ivy sighed as she pressed on the ignition and started the car as she slowly drove out of the traffic and followed another road to her brother's house.
