Chapter 21: Arrival

" Wow, we finally made it without loosing our way " Nicole said as she hopped out of the car and glanced at the exquisite mansion.

And at that moment I was so speechless as I started imagining what to have a alluring house like this would be like, though I have always wanted to have a home like this with an interlock.

As my imagination about the alluring house began to go deeper, I was brought back to reality by Nicole who was bringing out my box from the back seat. 

" Tina, you have to hurry up, so you would not be late, you just have ten minutes remaining " Nicole cautioned me as she started walking towards the mansion and the box made some annoying noise on the interlock as I followed behind her.

Every corner of the mansion was so exquisite and well designed which showed that they were taken complete care of.

" Nicole, I can not help but admire the beauty of this mansion, it is so alluring " I said as sparks of admiration were found in my eyes.

" Yeah, me too, but no.. this house is not alluring, it is bewitching " Nicole said as I stared at her with bewilderment.

As we began to approach the building, I could see that the mansion was a four storey building duplex which had a combination of dark red and beautiful purple coloured paint and with that I would call it the home of a villain but I was not sure I described it well because even though my boss acted like the devil, it does not mean his house would be described as the home of a villain.

No sound were heard as we walked towards the house, not even the sounds that houses make like air-conditioning, or furnace, or the stairwell creaking, or the frig cycling on, I thought I was the only one who noticed it but the Nicole asked me and with that I knew she was also trying to understand the surroundings of the house.

As I continued to look around I saw a big swimming pool at one end and at the other end a tennis pitch at the other end.

" Tina " Nicole called me.

" I am all ears " I replied hesitatingly.

" Why isn't any sound coming out of the house, it is dead silent like no one lives her " Nicole asked as she moved closer to where I was like she was scared.

There was nothing but a silence that seemed to have been thickening since we entered the building.

" Nicole, I can not possible answer that because this is where the address stated and the map also did the same, so do not be scared " I answered and also assured her at the same time as she nodded her head in approval.

As we approached nearer I remembered that I had to bid Nicole farewell so she could go back safely and on time because of the traffic.

" Nicole, I think I can manage from here, you have to be home on time and you can only do that if you leave here now, I would not want you to get stuck in traffic " I said to her with concern in my heart.

I was going to miss her.

Like seriously, I was going to miss her alot.

" But I wanted to help you unpack " Nicole said but no I could not let her in because it was my first time coming her and that boss of mine is a demon.

" Nicole, I would have love it for you to help me with that but you know, you remember how I described him, Nicole please that man has nothing good to talk about and i am not ready to separate any fight " I said plainly because I knew that Nicole would not take such insult and she would not go down without a fight.

" If you say so, then I would leave, but remember to call me once you settle in okay " she said and I was so glad she accepted offer of going home without quarrelling.

" Sure, I will " I said.

" Do not be so glad that I just accepted to go home, infact I am ready for any argument but I am joining home because I want you to get in there if possible a minute before 7pm " Nicole defended herself as I smiled happily.

Nicole was really the dove I had in my life.

" Okay, I love you so much " I said as I hugged her immediately and she hugged me back.

" I will miss you too " Nicole said.

" Okay , good bye, you have to go now " I said to her as I released myself from the hug and collected the box she was holding.

" I will go now but take care of yourself, bye " Nicole said and I waved at her as she headed back towards the car and I continued walking towards the mansion.

As I walked, I began to notice the house very well.

Nicole was actually right, this house is really bewitching.

According to what my eyes calculated, it was a ten acres land, which had a scrub and a little garden at one end with a lemon, guava, banana and avocado trees which were fully loaded with ripe fruits.

Before I knew it, I arrived at the main entrance of the house, it was a very large door which could accommodate a twenty to twenty five persons passing through at the same time.

It had a perfectly designed eight feet door length like a caved image of a lion, painted black, with a shiny white golden knob in the exact middle which was so tempting, you would be definitely tempted to turn those handles. 

I was also tempted to open the door and without a second thought, I turned the door handle and it opened so widely and what I saw was a hall that lead to a large sitting room, the walls were designed with mirrors and I took my first step into the house as I saw my reflection everywhere, even the tiles were designed with black tiles.

I wondered who would build a house like this with mirrors everywhere including the tiles.

I was certain that building this house would cost a lot of billions of dollars.

I saw couches which I instantly knew where imported from outside the states.

I was still lost in my admiration when I perceived a familiar scent and also heard footsteps walking towards me and immediately I turned and saw Mr Gavriel walking towards me.

I started feelings unwell down there in my stomach but I tried my best to hold it back, maybe I was hungry because I have not eaten anything reasonable since morning.

" Good day, sir " I greeted.

" I can see you are early, it is just seven already " Mr Gavriel said as he raised his hand to his face level and looked at his wrist watch for some seconds before he looked up at me and smiled.

" You just passed this test, if you had arrived here any second away from seven pm, you would have received a severe punishment " Mr Gavriel added.

At that moment, I already made up my mind that I would do anything he ask, maybe when he notices that I am not affected by his rudeness and wickedness towards me, he would set me free from this God forsaken punishment and contract and just allow me to work as a secretary.

" As you can see, I sent all my staffs, maid, chef and butler out of the mansion, so all the work here is your duty, you must not miss a day not cleaning my house because I hate dirty with passion and when I say all the work here is yours, it certainly means that you will clean the inner part of the house and the outer part of the house, you will do my laundry, you will cook my breakfast, lunch and dinner, and lots more I can not certainly mention, so you will have to find out about the rest yourself and most important you are to work in the company as my secretary " Mr Gavriel said as he gave a wicked smile, he wanted to see her angry facial expression when he listed out her job, he wanted to see her look back at him with a lot of questions in her eyes, he wanted her to question him about the work over load but she said nothing as she just stared at him like a statue and he was totally confused, he brought her here to suffer, to be punished but here she was acting like he was not saying anything, he would watch her closely and to know if she would be capable enough to get the job done, her punishment actually, but no she stood there so emotionless.

" Your room is on the second floor, my room is on the third floor and you are not permitted to go to the fourth floor, I do not think I need to explain the reason to you , another thing, I have when everything and everywhere is been disorganized and I also hate it when my things or properties are mishandled or destroyed, I am saying this just in case and also for you to avoid trouble because I act wild when I am angry " Mr Gavriel added after staring at me for a long time.

' I just could not bring my self to say anything after everything he mentioned, I just found out that he is actually more than the devil I thought he was.

Initially, he employed staffs, chefs, maids and butler to do the job in his mansion, now he sent them away and left the whole job for me.

I am just starting to hate him more, it is just like my hatred for him upgraded to level five, he would have just stated in the contract that I would die in this job. ' I thought to myself.

" I just hope you do not die with the whole work on you " Mr Gavriel said with a harsh tone.

" I understand everything you said now, including my work here in your house, if you do not mind, I would love to go upstairs and unpack " I said neither rudely or calmly, all I knew was that at that moment I needed to take a shower, through out today has been stressful for me.

" Yes, of course you can, I hope you enjoy your stay here in my mansion " Mr Gavriel said as he immediately walked out of sight.

I did not bother as I already had loads of work to do, I immediately carried my box carefully as I walked out of the sitting room as I entered the hallway where I found the stair case, then I carefully climbed it so that Mr Gavriel would not say I destroyed his tiles and then I would be done for.

When I got to the second floor, I saw a very large hallway and as I walked through the hallway I saw one door at my left hand side and another door at my right hand side.

The door on my right hand side had a key on the handle of the door and immediately I assumed it was my room.

I went closer to the door, picked up the key and I inserted it into the key cylinder then I turned the key twice and the door opened.

At a first step into the room I suddenly felt the urge to just run and jump on the bed and have a nice rest.

The room was incredibly awesome, I loved the comfortable bedroom because it is very unique to me and it was what I had always wanted. The colour and brightness are perfect in mostly every way possible.

On the other side of the room was a designer set couch and a normal sized dinning table with four chairs. The furniture was so beautifully made.

Though I was not too sure about the size of my new bed room but it certainly was a masters bedroom to me and I loved it.
