19 THE DECISION IS ALL YOURS

"Call the doctor Jade!" Robert shouted out to Vanessa's nurse.

Vanessa was carried to her bedroom by her brother with Patrick and the rest beside him, "I really had no idea Vanessa's condition risen again, Rob." Patrick muttered as the nurse continues checking on Vanessa's condition before the arrival of the doctor.

"I had no idea things were so bad like this with Vanessa," Patrick defends himself because he had no idea about Vanessa's condition, besides, Robert also didn't inform him either.

Robert sighed, he turns to face Patrick, "Don't worry Patrick; I know I didn't tell anyone of you about Vanessa's condition at all… so you don't have to be like this.

"Am not happy you did this, how could you not inform me about something like this?'' angry Patrick reasoned with his friend.

Robert tapped his friend's shoulder, "I just didn't want to spoil the celebration we are having; besides, the doctor assured me she is out of danger and will be alright too. That's why!"

"But still, am not forgiving you for this," Patrick made sure to let his friend know. Patrick heavenly sighed, if he had known about Vanessa's condition, that worst dinner of his life won't have taken place at all. He would have made sure to tell Robert to let Vanessa recover first before they continue with the wedding planning.

At least the events of that day would have not taken place at all. Patrick thought.

Esmeralda whose eyes were on the both of them from the beginning of their conversation smiled at the fight going on between the two of them, their friendship shouldn't be dragged into what happened with Elias.

Elias shouldn't have done what he did, he damaged her heart but she won't allow what happened to destroy the friendship between these two great men. Who has known each other their whole life? Esmeralda looked in Elias's direction and found him staring at her; she turned her face away immediately because she isn't ready to look into that man's face right now. Her aunt Vanessa is what matters right now…

"The doctor has arrived Sir!" the maid announced.

"Let him in Adela," Esmeralda replied.

"He is here ma'am."

"Can you give me some space so I can check properly on her?" the doctor said, referring to Linda and Robert who are both seating beside Vanessa, holding her hand.

"Sure doc!"

"She will be fine don't worry… just make sure to take her away from stress, anything stressful, just keep it away from her please," the doctor explained to them after was done examining Vanessa.

"Okay doctor, thank you very much and we will do as you say." Robert thanked the doctor.

"Thank you for the coming doctor!" Patrick added.

The doctor nods at their words, "Just make sure to take good care of her and do as I told you."

"Of course, doc… don't worry, all your instructions will be followed." Elias suddenly spoke.

Esmeralda was surprised at Elias's words but kept her cool, Linda, on the other hand, scorned, 'look at him talking like a good man'

They all heard Linda mutter, Esmeralda hushed her to keep quiet through an eye sign.

Patrick exhaled inwardly, his son has messed up big time and there is no way this family will ever love him the same way they use to again.

"Linda, show the doctor out dear," Robert ordered Linda in other to ease the tension his child has created.

"Sure, Dad!"

"This way please doc!"

"Just give her enough space to rest," the doctor gave his last orders and follow after Linda.

Robert smiled and shake hands with the doctor, "Thank you, doctor!"

"Alright, let's all go outside now and let Vanessa rest," Robert announced after the doctor.

They all left Vanessa's room in other to give her space to rest as the doctor ordered. But made sure to leave the nurse with her in case something were to happen...

"Can we talk Esme?" Elias said to Esmeralda after leaving Vanessa's room.

Esmeralda looked at her father who is beside Patrick, because she is aware he also heard what Elias just said, "Go dear, and remember the decision is all yours!" her father whispered and smiled at her.

"Sure," she agreed because they both do need to have a one-on-one conversation indeed after what happened.

They both left for the Fernandez garden.

"They both need to do this Patrick… so let's go and wait over at the study," Robert said to his friend.

Patrick looked towards the two who are going to the garden. He just hopes everything turns out okay and his disgrace of a son can get Esmeralda back.

"Alright, then let's go," Patrick agrees with him.

"The weather is very warm today right?" Elias asked after they both sat on the swing.

"Yea, the weather is warm today… but my heart is hot Elias!" Esmeralda replied which made Elias feel even guiltier than he already is.

"I feel very guilty and ashamed of myself about what had happened… how I wish I could open my heart for you to see right now so that you know how sorry I am Esmeralda. I know my words can never make up for how hurt you are right now, but I hope you will not end the both of us and will also try to give me another chance Esme." Elias pours his heart out to Esmeralda who is busy looking straight at the Rose plants in front of them.

Whatever Elias said is quite touching and also sincere, but like he also said, no amount of his words can ever make up for how hurt she is feeling right now.

He hates to admit this, but he has to, "Sh…she seduced me Esme….please give me another chance, am begging you Esmeralda please…" Elias begged Esmeralda while holding onto her hands.

He wanted to lie and say Lexi drugged him but seeing how hurt she is right now, he knows she deserves the truth, who knows, she might even decide to forgive seeing he is been honest with her and telling the truth.
