13 13. His anger

"Where were you, Damien?" Aiden asked, concern and confusion etched on his face. 

Arabella left with Victoria and Isabella just an hour ago and Damien was nowhere to be found until a few minutes ago, Aiden saw him coming out of the doctor's chamber who performed the operation.

Damien looked at Aiden with a blank look on his face. His emotions were running high and he was exhausted and frustrated but he was still there for those two little children.

"Talking with the doctor," Damien replied curtly, his voice tinged with irritation.

"What were you talking to him about?" Aiden probed further, trying to understand the reason behind Damien's care and interest in Aaron and Ariana's life.

"About Aaron's health, Aiden. What else?" Damien snapped, his frustration evident in his tone. He didn't like what Aiden was pressing at.
