chapter 23

Sam was in the sitting room watching her favorite tv series titled Super Girl, when a call suddenly enters her phone. She was very excited when she saw the name of the caller because it turns out to be her friend Thomas.

And it has been a while since she has last spoken to him.

Sam excitedly pick up her phone and press the blue icon bottom of the phone which indicates the answer, immediately after the call was connected she was very happy that she screamed into the phone.

Even Thomas was amazed by her actions.

My queen how are you doing, Thomas is fine it's just that I miss you so much.

Hmmm am blushing, but Sam do you know if someone heard you saying that they will easily mistake you for my girlfriend?

Samantha: I just realized that now, but I don't think that is a bad idea.

You are handsome and hard-working, so I don't mind if you propose.

Thomas: hahaha Thomas laugh. Sam please please stop joking around, Although I like your energy and you are the only one who always makes me forget my sorrow at times.

Sam: she likes Thomas since high school but she doesn't want him to know because she thinks if Thomas knows about it might ruin their current situation or their friendship.

Thomas: I also don't think it's bad either, but I don't think you will leave your boyfriend to be with me." he teased her.

Oh, that reminds me Sam do you have a boyfriend, Thomas asked.

Samantha:of course Tom I have a boyfriend she lied. Sam, I hope you are not lying to me.

Samantha:am not lying to you Tom and when you travel back to the country you will see for yourself.

Thomas:ok I believe you, but I hope his nice a guy. " yes his a very nice guy and he is also very caring.

Samantha:so Thomas how are your parents and also your girlfriend as well?

Thomas: My parents are doing good and as for my girlfriend I don't have any.

Samantha: Please don't lie to me because it doesn't suit you. Tom so you mean for the past four years now, you haven't had any girlfriend at all.

Thomas: ok, I will not lie to you Sam and I didn't say it was for the past three years. I have a girlfriend before and when we started dating she was committed and we were very serious about the relationship.

and we were so much in love, in fact, anybody who sees us together always calls us love birds said, Thomas.

Samantha:Sam wanted to know everything that happens between them till the end.

am sorry to interrupt you Thomas but I want to ask you this question, if both of you were really in love back then why did you people separate, I mean why did you people have to break up?

Thomas:Sam it's a long story." then make it short just summer the whole story and then I will understand said Sam.

Thomas:Sam I love Jennifer so much but she broke my heart. when Jennifer finds out that her family was wealthy, Sam you will not believe what she did.

Samantha:then tell me Thomas what did she do?

Thomas:Sam my girlfriend Jennifer started misbehaving, she started drinking, smoking, and then staying out late most of the time.

and one day I call her and then I asked her what is going on because I noticed she has been acting very strange towards me for quite some time.

instead, she just ignored me as if she was not the one I was talking to. As time goes on Jennifer develops a new habit of spending money she will occasionally ask me for a lot of money as if am a money-making machine. but I kept on giving her everything she wanted.

But she was not still satisfied with all I was doing for her and as if that was not enough. the following week she did the worst Jennifer came home very late and what am telling you right now Samantha it was past midnight and she was very, very drunk.

So I was very angry because since we started dating such has never happened before, so I try every possible best to control my temper and then I asked her where she was coming from at that time of the night.

but she try to ignore me once again but I blocked her from going inside.

when she saw that I was very serious that I wasn't going to let her into the house until she explained herself, that is when she told me that she went clubbing with some of our colleagues.

then told her what she did was very wrong because if at all she wanted to go out clubbing with her friends she should at least inform me about it first.

before God and Man Samantha that is the only thing I said to her, but Jennifer pick it as an offense and she began ranting that I am trying to control her life in the name of a relationship.

I was surprised when she said that I was trying to know every dam thing that is going on in her life.

Although I try to explain to her that she misunderstood me and that I was not trying to deprive her of her freedom and she was free to do whatever she pleases.

but don't like it when she keeps secrets from me.

Sam my friend you will not believe how Jennifer reacted when I make mention of us not keeping secrets from each other omo. She called my name twice I thought maybe she has something very important to say to me but guess what she asked me if I was keeping any secret from her and I said no.

and then she asked me to think carefully before answering the question but I still immediately tell her that I am not keeping a secret from her.

and then she tell me to shut up I thought that she was speaking under the influence of Drink but I was wrong because Jennifer knows everything she was saying word by word.

and then she asked me where I normally get the money I used to give to her but I told her that it was from my savings. she still asked me again if I was doing any online business.

Samantha at this stage I was very confused because I didn't understand all the questions and answers, but anyway, I have no choice but to answer the all questions for peace to reign.

I told her that I wasn't doing any online business, and she said how come I had so much money in my account I was about to tell her that my family was rich but she bit to it.

she asked me if my family were rich I could not alter a word when she throws that question at me.

but after some time I try to explain to her that I didn't mean to keep any secret from her and the truth is I have always wanted to tell her that my family is wealthy. but anytime I mentioned my family she will not want me to continue the conversation.

and to be sincere I don't how and where she finds out that my family is wealthy. I apologize and she accepted and forgive me, a month later after her graduation only for I to hear Jennifer telling me that she is sorry but she can continue with the relationship any longer and that it was over between us.

Sam when Jennifer left me I was in serious pain and heartbroken.
