Chapter 3: Adoption.

"Come here." he beckoned her.
Looking straight at her eyes, he could see that she felt no fear at all, she even raised an eyebrow at him. As if she was mocking him.
The next second, she stood up calmly, as if the scene that was happening right now was just ordinary.
She had her hands in her pockets, as she leisurely walk towards the man.
The Old man, Lu Pei, and the boy tried to stop her. But their movements were limited as the men's guns were pointed directly at them. Taunting them to move even a muscle.
The girl walked slowly towards the guy, taking her precious time. She then stopped 1 meter away from them.
Probably because of the age difference, the man was taller that her, and she only reached his chest. So she had to stand there looking up slightly.
He looked at her eyes again when she raised her face. The girl was really an exquisite beauty, and he could only wonder what she would look like when she would grow older.
But sadly, this might be her death day.
He focused his attention in her emotions this time. Trying to find if she was just putting on a strong facade earlier, but right now there wasn't her calm and unbothered demeanor like earlier's.
There was clear irritation on her face now.
Irritation?
What's the connection of fear with irritation?
That thought itself left him baffled, until...
"You're too tall." she said with a calm voice, but there was clear irritation behind it. After sayin that, she took a step forward then the next second kicked him on the knee. Causing his knee caps to break.
*Crack* "Ahh!!" the sound of his knee cap breaking mixed with the agony in his voice, sounded in the room, shocking all the people inside. Except the girl, who stood there with her face, now clear of annoyance. She seemed quite pleased with herself.
The men behind the man who was now kneeling, pointed their guns towards her. Anger written all over their faces.
They aimed their guns at her, wanting to kill her right there, right now. Looking at all the guns aimed at her, she frowned.
Seeing her frown, the man who was kneeling infront of her thought that she was now afraid, after being pointed by many guns that could kill her in one click. By that though itself, made him smirk, forgetting the pain he went through earlier.
But the smirk that was etched on his face was wiped off by the words that she was going to say next.
"How rude." she said in a cold voice that sent chill through their spine, which made their breaths stop for a second.
The next second, she stomped on the gun, which the man held earlier, causing it to jump upwards into her hand as she swiftly caught it.
She held the gun with ease, making the people in the room thing that she handled guns her whole life by the way she held it.
Then while they were still dumbstruck by the way she held the gun, consecutive 5 loud gunshots sounded in the room.
By then they could only look at the severed arms of the 5 men behind the man who was kneeling, dropping their own guns to the white marble floor, as their blood dripped from the holes that the girl made.
The 5 men groped their wounded arm, trying to stop the blood from going all out. While they looked at the girl with fear in their eyes.
She just stood there, not minding their heated glares. But she looked at their dripping crimson blood staining the white marble floor, which made her frown again.
Some second later she mercilessly took the man infront of her by the hair, as she forcefully pushed his head down makind it slightly bleed.
"Look at the mess you've done." she shamelessly pushed her doings to the man, making him feel more fear for her.
She pushed his head to the ground fiercely, making him face the bloodied corpes of the dead servant. His blood, from the wound on his head, and the blood of the dead servant mixed on the floor, making it more dirty.
While she was distracted by dealing with their learder, one of the man from behind crouched down to pick up his gun but before he could do that, the girl shot him between his eyebrows without even looking at him.
"Idiot." She coldly remarked at the man she just killed. Then after that she slowly stood up and glanced at the men with bloodthirsty eyes.
"Clean that mess up or else." she ordered them, as if they were just her own servants. She then turned her head towards the Lu's.
She expected to see fear in their eyes, but they where unexpectedly calm, it is as if they knew what was going to happen. Thinking of that, she was quiet amuse and then she smirked at them.
"Was this a test?" She asked them calmly but there was anger between her words. She hated being used, thats also the reason why she burned that organization down to ashes.
"No its not." The old man honestly replied.
"The questions earlier was the test but not this, this..." he pointed at the dead bodies and the men who were barging in to kill them earlier and continued, " They weren't planned by us."
"However, we really are amazed by your abilities. We thought those were lies, but unexpectedly its true." Lu pei said to her with the same gentleness that he had with her earlier.
She could clearly see that he wasn't gentle because he was scared of her, because he was genuinely gentle.
"How did you know me?" she asked. Her voice still had the same bone chilling tone but they knew she wasn't that angry anymore. She just hadn't let her guard down.
"Oh, thats because of the recordings of the building that you exploded. The memory card of the cameras were fire proof." old man Gao said as he shrugged his shoulders.
"So did you take me here because of that all along?" she said with an ironic smirk on her face as if she was judging them.
"In all honestly, no. At first when I saw you I just felt pity and wanted to help you." Old man Gao said to her with seriousness. He did felt pity for her when he saw her lying on the ground unconscious, so thats why he took her home. And the reason why he was there in the first place was to investigate the explosion. So basically its all just a big coincidence.
"You aren't scared of me?" she asked them one last question.
"No, from the first time I saw you, I knew you aren't unreasonable." Old Gao said to her gently.
Then just after he said that, the tense air around them disappeared. Signaling them that she was calm again.
Knowing that she was calm now, they unvoluntarily heaved a sigh of relief in their hearts, 'this girl really is dangerous.' but they are genuine to her, and without and bad intentions towards her.
The next moment, Lu Pei took suddenly took out an envelope from nowhere. 'Was this guy a magician?' the girl thought.
"And we have a small request for you." He said with a smile on his face. Being intrigued to what he was talking about, the girl raised her eyebrows at them. Then feeling her curiosity, he handed her the envelope which she open the next second.
Writen on the top of the peice of paper were, 'ADOPTION'. So these people still wanted to adopt her into theirfamily after what happened?
She slightly frowned, are these people have a brain damage or what? They want to keep a killer by their side? She asked her self those, as asshe look at them weordly. After some time, she finally opened her mouth.
"why?" she asked them simply.
"Nothing, its just that we want to have you as our family even after all that you've been going through. I know that what you need is a family who would accept you right now." Old Gao said thoughtfully, having no other meaning in his words.
He's answer made her speachless, and after thinking about it she simply answered,"Okay."
And by the moment she said yes to them, wide smiles appeared on their lips, including the boy who was quiet from the beggining.
After checking him out, she could tell that he was really dashingly handsome to the point where he would leave any girl breathless, especially when he smiled, but unfortunately she wakes up looking to the beauty from the mirror herself.
Looking at their joyous looks, slightly made her smile genuinely, witjout the malice that she usually show to her enemies before they die.

After the unexpected things that happened this day, Old Gao ordered people to clean up and they celebrated until late at night. Just then, a big realization dawned upon them... They still didn't know the girl's name!! How stupid of them.
Then they awkwardly asked the girl her name.
"Fan, means mortal." she told them her name.
"Then we welcome you to the family, Lu Fan." Lu Pei said with a big smile on his face.
They let her rest earlier because they knew that she is still quite weak even after all the strength that she had shown earlier when she beat those men.
Then they moved her to a biggger room, much more worthy for a Lu.
The maids readied her bath and clothes so she had much less to do and just laid in the king sized bed. She just laid there motionlessly, quite daze if you may say. After a few minute on silence she mumbled in her mouth, "Family."
This word was quite foreign to her, as she had never gotten one of those. Even the ones that she had at the organization were just like close enemies to her. One second that you'd turn your back on them, they wouldn't hesitate to kill you.
She then slowly closed her eyes as she forced her self to sleep.
