Chapter 5: White snow academy

"White Snow Academy has a short history compared to other academies but is one of the quickest to reach its peak."

"Unlike other academies which were built for the benefit of the nation, White Snow Academy is an independent academy that attracts many different kinds of organizations and clans that compete for graduates from the academy. Not only that, it's not uncommon for various organizations and clans to register their descendants there." Raven explained quite enthusiastically.

Right now Raven and Ivo were walking towards the academy. Even so the atmosphere between the two of them was quite awkward at the moment. Despite the explanation Raven gave, the two of them didn't say much.

Along the way Raven showed a slightly strange face. His face showed a confused expression. He looked at the person in front of him while continuously rubbing his eyes.

To be honest, it was quite funny looking at his behavior now.

"Ravens? What is it?" Ivo wondered while looking at his face. He had a look of confusion on his face as if wondering if something was wrong.

"No. There isn't any. Nice weather isn't it?" Raven shook his head and looked up at the sky.

Ivo followed his gaze and returned a smile on his face. "right. it's a nice weather"

The two of them walked casually while looking at the scenery presented by the city of Ernest.

The city of Ernest is a very large city. Along the way, various large buildings with most of them are dominated by ancient European architectural styles standing along the road that we passed. The architectural design that is presented has nuances that amaze the eyes of those who visit it.

I must say, the people who designed this city did a pretty good job of it. Not only are the buildings standing firm, the roads that we pass are very well maintained with a series of trees that are connected to each other.

Even after he saw him many times in the game, Ernest City still gave him a good impression.

"Here we have arrived." we both arrived at a towering gate. It reaches 10 meters in height with a flag that has a white snow crystal logo.

White Snow Academy is synonymous with white and blue. Not only the gate, the walls surrounding the academy are painted white with various blue carvings.

It didn't take long to get to the white snow academy from the inn we were staying at.

Raven looked at me for a moment and asked me. "Do you need help? I can help you with the registration process."

Ivo smiled and bowed low to him. This is the etiquette of this kingdom. "Thank you for the help. But it looks like it's not needed. I can do it myself." He refused politely.

"Is that so, then I'll be going first. I hope we can meet again inside the academy." Raven said his goodbyes. His eyes briefly turned golden before turning back to blue. A golden color slowly increased in his pupils.

"You say that as if you've already been accepted." Ivo turned and walked into the white snow academy. Even though it was only a glance, Ivo didn't miss the change in Raven's eyes. But his expression didn't change at all.

Seeing Ivo slowly enter the academy, he slowly walked away.

He had no business here as he had already registered and was just waiting for his entrance exam.

"I have to get ready soon. Tomorrow will be a very long day."

"I'll pretend I didn't see it." Ivo walked leisurely along the white snow academy's path.

From the start, he had known what Raven was trying to do but he didn't care what he was doing. It's not like I can stop what he's doing. It would only add to his troubles.

"still this place is too big for an academy." Ivo marveled while walking around the academy.

White Snow Academy had a short history but was one of the fastest to reach its prime.

This statement is not without reason.

If calculated from the total area owned by the city of Ernest, White Snow Academy covers more than 30% of the area of Ernest City. Not to mention that there are many other areas they control that are not known where they are located. Just from one territory that they control can bring a lot of wealth to someone.

"Only one person, because of the existence of that one person no one would dare to touch a single territory belonging to the White Snow academy." Ivo muttered to himself silently.

Most of the organizations that even existed didn't dare to go against the white snow academy. And that was because of the power that belonged to a single person. That is the law that stands here.

the strong will reign and the weak can only suffer. It's not just a metaphor. In this world some people take that statement to the extreme. Those who are strong will rule.

"Ugh… Shit….Again?" pain hit his head so he had to sit in the nearest place.

"I should have been more careful in making decisions." Ivo sighed as he massaged his head and tried to calm down.

Streams of pain pounded his brain continuously ever since he chose the 'perfect mana sense' and 'energy control' talents. At first it wasn't really felt but as time went on the pain would build up and build up causing his brain to feel like it was being split into two.

"I couldn't even have a peaceful sleep last night."

Last night while he was sleeping, his body reacted and roused him from sleep just from the subtle movement of mana in the air. Cold sweat drenched his body and his hand holding the window prepared to jump from the window if suddenly someone barged into his room.

Ivo tried to close his eyes but it had no effect. With his current condition it was already quite a miracle if he could sleep last night. "This doesn't help at all. This is even worse."

Ever since he had entered the academy's grounds, his senses had gone into a frenzy due to the mana activity occurring in the air.

"Hold on… Haaahh… Huuuhhh…." Ivo slowly inhaled and exhaled. Of course this doesn't help. But he should at least try to calm himself down first.

There are some extreme methods to relieve this pain but I don't want to do it with the current situation.

Isn't it true that in novels the main character can directly control the power they have when given by the system?

If only I had a cheat like that. Life would definitely be a lot easier.

I can't help but lean my back on the park bench. Just walking all the way to this place had used up almost all of my strength.

At least the morning atmosphere is enough to calm down. "Haaaahhhh….."

Someone's voice woke him from his reverie. "Ummm… are you okay?"

"Hmmm??" Ivo looked to the side and saw a girl sitting next to him holding a book. He gave a strange and worried look to the person next to him.

'Isn't she…' Ivo was quite surprised to see her.

The girl beside him possessed an inhuman beauty. Short hair with a silvery white color. Her face had a fairly smooth radiance with pure white skin. She has sapphire blue eyes which make her very charming. Her body was clad in a light blue dress without any excessive accessories and a black skirt. Simple but fits perfectly with the atmosphere it exudes.

"No. I'm fine, just a little dizzy" Ivo replied flatly.

Right now he didn't really want to be bothered with other thoughts. Just focus on calming down and enjoying the morning air. Right now it was the only thing he could do to ease the pain in his head whether it was working or not.

The girl didn't bother him and continued reading her book again.

The two of them didn't speak after that and went back to their own business.

It was still early in the morning with the newly rising sun emitting orange and gray hues. There weren't many academy students to be seen around here so the trails looked quite deserted.

This is what I really need right now. serenity. I don't know how long I can feel this.
