Chapter 10: No Hope

David pondered Gunner's words. Were his true intentions good, or was this some trick?

The teen wasn't sure what these creatures were planning, but he figured it couldn't be good. Judging from the screams which echoed through the halls at night along with the sound of high-powered machines.

Taurus entered David's prison. Strutting slowly, clawed hands clasped behind his back.

The large lizard smiled, revealing slimy gums. He hummed looking over the young man.

"Judging from your file you're about the same age as my son. But you're so feeble. You're not even six feet. Do humans grow slowly-or is it only your kind that is slow?" Making sure to speak in English, Taurus smirked at the teen. The large lizard sat in a nearby chair, gawking at David.

"Go back to your planet."

"Your planet is so, so nice. We need you. Our species. You're special." Taurus retorted, crossing his muscular legs.

"My mom. She'll probably hurt you." David spoke both sadly and with rage, deciding to stand up to the alien. Yes. His heart fluttered. His lips quivered. David didn't care. Being pushed around by bullies in school had taught the young man one thing. Don't give in to evilness.

In defiance, Taurus stood as well. "You're special." He reached into his back pocket and held an electronic screen. Which held data for all the humans in this building. "You've got something in you we like."

"Stop talking about me. You d-don't know anything."

"We do though, your brain is really different. We've looked through everything you've ever written. Your school has provided me with a lot." Taurus nodded, approaching him.

"Stop talking about m-me. Right now." David shoved Taurus, the alien didn't flinch.

"Your autism is a gift, my boy. You're more like us Barg than you'll ever know. So, bow to me."

The large lizard kicked David's stomach, he yelped and fell to the ground. He coughed.

"You're going on my operating table." Taurus chuckled and left the room.

David lay on the marble floor, crying softly.

***

I've been here two days.

One of the aliens came into my room with some type of sharp, metal clasping device. Hooked it to my ear and implanted some type of metal ring to my earlobe, it snapped in place with a horrifying squish. Cartilage broke. Blood trickled down my ear and down to my cheek. Tears fell from my face as the stinging worsened. Until finally it stopped hurting.

On my second day, three Barg forced me from my room as I kicked and screamed. Down the hallway.

My body shaking, I tried to twist my wrists. I tried biting and clawing. All I did was exhaust myself out.

They slammed me upon a white table that presumably was in the old nurses' office of the school.

The creatures strapped my arms and legs in with metal cuffs. The cuffs got tighter the more I moved, squeezing the bones in my wrist so hard that I was afraid my hands would break.

My eyes go wide, looking at the same Barg standing over me like I'm a patient in a dentist's chair.

Standing over me were the green lizards, all dressed in black and communicating in that same eerie language. I think Gunner's father was standing over me too, looking at me with his cold-blooded eyes.

A giant bright light is wheeled over to the operating bed I lie on, the bulb so bright that it stung my eyes.

Next, my mouth was forced open by a cold metal gag, my lips began to hurt, and my mouth became dry quickly.

A single tear falls from my eye.

Before I see anything, I hear an electrical machine. Something high pitched. Something small.

I whimper. It's all I can do. I know they can hear me. Aliens have been running tests on humans for a long time. They're used to all our pitiful sounds. Our moans, our cries for freedom.

To my right, is an alien with a small red light, like a laser pointer. The sound is noisy, like a drill right next to my ear.

I feel the heat on my gums as he drags the light over my teeth. The heat just kept getting more intense.

I cry out. Closing my eyes. The pain. Like a toothache. Just kept going and going. What are they scanning for? Is this some kind of sick fucking game to them? Are we humans just pets? Pets that are meant to be toyed with and tortured? I guess slaves would be the better word.

My mouth bleeds a bit.

I keep my eyes closed. I don't want to see those yellow, reptilian eyes staring at me.

The little machine turns off. I finally get a break.

I want to close my jaw so badly. Get some cold water and rinse my mouth. Better yet, shove my foot into the face of an alien. Watch his skull break as I pound on it endlessly.

I try to focus on the sound of my heart racing fast. Instead of the aliens who toy with my body.

I'm brought back to my prison. Honestly, this empty room feels quite nice after going to the sadistic operating room.

I try to sleep. My body aching. I shiver on the cold floor.

At least now I'm given a blanket.

My second day is over.

I don't know if I'll live for my third one.
