The Unstoppable

Takeda's emotions couldn't get any higher as his old captain's enthusiasm disappeared.

" What happened to you? " Takeda says softly.

But Udai ignores him and continues to walk forward.

Only Takeda was the one who realized what's about the happen, as everyone else plays the same they do.

No one is aware on what's about to come for them.

The point guard passed the ball to Takeda who waits for his captain to position himself.

But he didn't positioned at all in the post.

Instead, his captain eyes tells him to shoot.

" Got it. " Takeda couldn't contain his emotions as he burst out in excitement.

He can't wait to see what his captain plans to do and so, he shoots from the three while trying to shake his defender, Okubo.

He succeeded on doing so and the ball travels in the air only to bounce back.

The rebound occurs and everyone looks up on in aims to get the ball for another possession.

Hoashi confidently says, " Don't worry, I got this one. " and jumps.

As he's in the midst of jumping.

A hand pressed on his shoulder and a silhouette of an arm goes over above his head.

That person's hand puts the ball back in with monstrous force.

A put back, that kind of move only works for strong players in the post.

Yet this person did it so perfectly.

Hoashi collapsed into the floor as that person continues to hang on the rim.

Hoashi looked up as he holds his neck in pain.

" That was nice of you, Hoashi. Thanks for the leverage. " Udai's face were in resting mode as he said those words.

Hoashi gritted his teeth in anger, that humiliation of Hoash was incomparable to the duo's scoring.

Everyone couldn't believe the move by Udai, completely overpowering someone twice your size is no easy feat.

Zone - a phenomenon where one player becomes deeply feed into the game. Such person becomes egoistic and ignores all the principles which only aims is to score. Their abilities becomes twice as effective with the help of Adrenaline.

In this game, Udai was definitely in the zone.

The game progress with the two team biting at each other.

Hoashi and the duo created a lot of strong finishes while Takeda scores on his own, while Udai pulled the score the most.

Udai scoring prowess quickly puts them at the top as Daisen High couldn't do anything to stop it.

The second half finishes and the score leaves at 53-67, Daisen was badly losing because of Udai's zone.

Wether it's Offense or Defense, Udai was winning it.

Takeda notices that Udai was spent by this and by the start of third quarter their chances of extending the lead will be slim.

" Let's go team, let's win this win a style. " Takeda was the one to lead as their captain was too tired to even speak.

Udai was chugging the water bottle as his sweat drops like a rain.

" Udai, you should sit for atleast one quarte– " his coach tried to suggest but.

" No, I can't. We'll lose if I do. " Udai quickly denies to the idea of being subbed out as he gripped the water bottle tightly.

Most players were frightened at him at this point.

The timeout clocks out and the players went back into their area.

Hoashi was still being pressured by Udai's superior defense.

Udai's been a complete monster ever since his first bucket.

" Tch, that guy is too much of a nuisance. " Ishikura wipes his mouth with his jersey.

" Right, we need to stop him from scoring but if we try to leave our man. Someone from the team will grab the chance to score. " Okubo added.

Even the duo couldn't think of a way to contain Udai who's been shaking the waves of basketball with his plays.

Udai's individuality far surpassed the duo.

Three point, close range, post up moves and even defending moves. You name it all, Udai was executing them like a professional.

The pressure Udai was giving to his enemies were huge.

Undoubtedly, if this keeps up the win against the esteemed Daisen High won't be a dream.

Udai's pressure creates enough space for his team to score through the defense, one slip up from Daisen and Udai will convert it by his own.

Takeda dribbles the ball as he monitored his opponent Okubo.

The perimeter was Takeda's max range so scoring from the three would be reckless.

Okubo continues to man up in order keep Takeda from passing the line.

Ishikura who's been eyeing Udai for awhile moved immediately the moment Hoashi loses attention on Udai.

Every member of Daisen switched role to quickly cover Hoashi's mistake.

Ishikura's aim was prevent Udai who's cutting to the basket.

Not only Udai but everyone else was surprised by Takeda's selfish play and refused to pass on Udai.

" Oh shit, he slipped through. " Takeda punished Okubo's slow response as he passed through him and pulls up from the perimeter.

He easily knocks the open shot and two adds to their lead.

The game continues to swing in Takeda team sides as Udai continues to distract Daisen's defense.

Udai was starting to lose his breath by the time the third quarter is almost done.

The score is now at 76-89 and most of the crowd considered this as a a blowout for Youji Basketball Team.

Daisen High recovering at this point is impossible thanks to Udai's unstoppable force.

Youji High also gets the possession.

The point guard connected his pass to their shooting guard which also pass to Takeda who quickly rotates the ball back to Udai.

" Get them, Udai! " his team shouted.

This fast passing play made the other team's defense to collapse.

Udai grabs the ball and as he rest for a bit on Hoashi, he takes his time to exhale.

He added some movement like fake turnz to confuse Hoashi and once Hoashi bites onto the fake.

Udai will turn away from his opponent and spins while looking at the ring.

He's also in shooting motion before Hoashi noticed.

" A fade away? Fuck, I got to stop him! " Hoashi recovered from the fake and jumped his highest attempt to stop Udai.

As Udai releases the ball from his hand, Hoashi gets in his way.

Hoashi's hand almost tipped the ball but it manages to pass through.

Hoashi's tight defense wasn't enough to stop it.

The ball got everyone's attention, as it smoothly rolls into the ring and slips inside.

" Another score from Udai, wow– He's unstoppable! " the commentator couldn't help his excitement.

However, as Udai slowly descend– so is Hoashi.

Hoashi's body was falling towards Udai and the two falls into the ground.

A loud impact was heard and a loud whistle stops the game.

Hoashi quickly stood up and saw Udai who's holding his ribs.

" Argh. " Udai was crying in pain as the referee and the medic quickly arrives at the scene.

" Distance, everyone, distance! " the medic shouted as the players distanced themselves.

Hoashi who could only look at Udai as he continues to apologize hoping to fix everything with his sorry.

But Udai was suffering in extreme pain to care for the apologetic Hoashi.

Udai was rushed out to the hospital and the officials decides to continue the game in compensation of ejecting Hoashi out of the game and two free throw.

Because of Udai's counted shot, Youji High gained another free throw because of rhe unexpected event.

The team decides to pick who'll do the honor and there wasn't anyone who's perfect unless it's Takeda.

" We know Udai will choose you, Takeda. " the only person who can surpass Udai and has the best bond with him.

Takeda accepted the proposition and knocked the two free throws down.

But despite of that penalty, the Daisen quickly recovered like a zombie rising from the grave.

Even though Hoashi is out of the game, Okubo and Ishikura easily outmatched everyone even Takeda.

Youji High large lead quickly turns into zero as the two turns Takeda's dream into dust.

" Damn it all, how is this possible. " Takeda complained as he spread his arms to defend the post, his eyes were already hazy during this.

What's worse is Ishikura's holding the ball who easily crossed Takeda by a fake pass drive.

" Boom, Rajon Rondo! " Ishikura laughs as he passed Takeda and dunks.

Takeda's team was already exhausted at this point while Daisen is still raring to go.

Without Udai, Takeda's team was slowly collapsing.

Fourth Quarter comes and the situation becomes worse as the duo completely humiliates the bruised team.

The scores end with a note of Daisen High with 127 and Youji High with 98.

It was a huge disappointment but Takeda couldn't afford to be saddened as he left his teammates and quickly goes into the hospital to find Udai.

He found him in the room who's looking at the window, within that glass.

The stadium can be seen, Udai noticed Takeda who's panting heavily.

" Did we win? " Udai's frail words finally sends Takeda into crying.

" I'm sorry, Captain. " he just stood there, while his captain closed his eyes and smiled.

Udai has long accepted the outcome by the time he was subbed out.

" The duo of Ishikura and Okubo really is amazing. " Udai laughed a bit.

" Don't blame yourself, Takeda. It's not your fault. " Udai words didn't stop Takeda's running tears.

" I'm sorry, I failed as a leader. " Takeda continues to cry for a solid minutes.

A couple minutes later and Takeda finally calmed down and sits beside Udai.

" What did they say about your condition? " Takeda looked at Udai with all seriousness, Takeda hopes for the best.

Udai's expression suddenly turned into grim as he looked at Takeda.

" They said that I can't play basketball anymore. " Udai's bitter smile breaks Takeda into pieces.
