70 Charlotte

A/N- Yes, you read it right, 'Charlotte'. I gave hints about it a while ago for you to guess but sadly no one even tried guessing. I admit it makes me a bit sad but, what can I do?

Its been two weeks since I entered this new reality and I might have arrived a bit too late for anything interesting to happen.

It was currently the year 2244, I stayed because it might have something of interest since the world was practically a nuclear wasteland. Who knows, maybe I could meet my first real zombie or at least an apocalypse but no, absolutely nothing.

After looking around for a while, I decided to look a bit into the past and fate of this reality and voila, over 200 years too late. Guess I will be doing time travel again, this time however even further into the past.

I already knew what I could get here and didn´t even need a lot of time to get it, at least at the right point in time.

I have been sitting in my time bubble, watching history move backwards, for almost 10 hours now and I was still only at year 2169. I really need a better way to time travel.

Finally, after what would have been a few days, I arrived when and only needed to go where now.

Somewhere in the Outskirt of Beijing, China, I found my target. A one-eyed tired looking teen with a crutch to support him.

He was one his way to plunder the last power in the world to fulfill a promise he couldn´t even remember. I watched as a bounty hunter started to shoot him with a crossbow and a young girl stood in front of him to protect him.

This was the last power, Courage. Most abilities in this world were defective, being invisibility to only one person, Supersonic speed but not being able to stop, Courage that bordered suicidal and many, but there were also some fragments of really broken powers in some of them, like Plunder, time travel and destruction.

I watched as he plundered the girls power, who immediately ran away in fear after losing her courage. In the anime the helicopter was supposed to come and save him from the bounty hunter but some light interference from me and they were running five minutes late.

Yuu, the one-eyed dude, has given up resisting now that he had completed his task. He could have easily defended himself but the tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands, of powers were just too much for his still human body and mind to handle.

The fact that he was actually able to have this many showed just how broken some of these powers were.

Another bolt hit his back and before the bounty hunter could load his next shot, I intervened by piercing him with my clawed hand through his chest.

Yuu didn´t even react to my sudden appearance, maybe he wasn´t even able to understand his surroundings. I just walked of to him and killed him the same way I did to the bounty hunter and absorbed him.

I was instantly overwhelmed with an ungodly among of genetic information, enough to make even the living planet I absorbed seem small. This is going to take a long time to fully assimilate, I didn´t plan on getting physically weak because it couldn´t handle all these powers or because they weren´t assimilated right.

At least that's what I thought.

Just a few hours after I absorbed the walking treasure chest, a power assimilated into me that speed up the process considerably.

Unexpectedly this power was plunder, Yuu´s original ability. My body was somehow trying to assimilate this one power for hours but now I understood why.

Plunder was much more than it seemed. It not only allowed the possession of anyone for 5 seconds, which I now know is actually dependent on soul strength, but also stole the possessed bodies power and instantly integrated it into his own body.

That´s why it took so long to assimilate this power. Not only was my ability to absorb powers improved but the assimilation of said powers became nearly instantly as well. I said nearly because I'm certain that some insanely complicated genes will still take a while but definitively not years or months anymore.

This was a massive improvement I didn´t expect. With this new upgrade, all other powers were fully absorbed in a matter of minutes.

Absorbing hundreds of thousands of powers in a matter of seconds. Even I am a bit speechless at that. Now my adaptive evolution was busy giving me better control over them, as well as trying and fix the many defects in them. I already didn´t have to worry about losing these powers once I reach adulthood, not that I had something like adulthood with my eternal life and strange physiology.

Sadly the repair had very little success but that was definitively going to change once I absorbed new and similar powers.

Now that I didn´t have to worry about losing precious genes, it was time for me to leave.

I admit this was a short stay, even for me, but the gains were above most other realities I had been to.
