RD: The last time I wrote erotica was maybe five to six years ago, or something. So, if the smut in the previous chapter was trash, then: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Anyway, is there anyone actually reading this? The platform says that 176+ has viewed this, but how does 176+ people find a new novel (a fanfiction, to be exact) within a couple minutes? I don't know, you tell me.

Returning from the Rift of Aeons, Aldrich heard a ringing sound in his ears. No, it was more like the sound of his soul carefully readjusting to his body as the power it was imbued with would've otherwise torn apart his mortal vessel. On a similar note, he lost control over his body, a possible sign that his body was also adapting to accommodate his soul.

Aldrich wasn't sure how long the ringing sound lasted, but after what seemed to be a minute or so of waiting, he finally regained control of his body and all his senses returned. A calming sensation enveloped him as he sensed his power, or at least a fraction of it, returning to him.

Although it objectively hasn't been long since he lost his power, it truly felt like an eternity.

Reopening his eyes, Aldrich immediately noticed the unusual silence that took over the room. He turned around and saw that everyone had all gathered in front of the monitors, staring at it with shocked expressions.

In an attempt to wake them for their stupor, Aldrich said, "All this ultra high-tech, yet the results are merely shown on a monitor. It kinda removes the wow factor, don't you think? Then again, there is a sense of confidentiality in doing it that way."

The only response he received was deafening silence.

Aldrich wasn't sure what shocked them so much that they couldn't seem to hear him, but it definitely intrigued him. Exhaling lightly, Aldrich reached deep into his soul and managed to channel a bit of soul energy into his palms. He felt a warm energy while doing so, as he may biologically dominantly be a human, his soul still retained his identity as an eldritchkin.

Raising his hands, he clapped his hands together, creating a wave of energy that spread throughout the room but quickly dissipated as if it was never there.

The other four people in the room woke up from their stupor and finally noticed him.

"Aldrich, you've… completed your arcana trials," Adamas said.

"Yeah. Congrats, darling," Romona said.

Although the two were in completely good conditions, they somehow felt strangely somewhat disorientated. The same goes with Dante and Ishtar.

"Thanks. What's the matter with y'all though?" Aldrich said as he walked towards them.

Everyone looked at him and then each other, seemingly unsure what to say.

"Is it bad?" Aldrich inquired, intrigued by their reaction.

His grandfather spoke up, but he can't seem to properly formulate any words.

"It's… well… I… It's good."

Aldrich raised an eyebrow and checked the results on the monitor.

He had awakened a total of thirteen arcanas. The first nine were related to his eldricth origins, the tenth was something he acquired, and the last three were bestowed upon him by Yog-Sothoth.

"The purpose of the arcanas I've given you is for you to eliminate the champions of the invading Empyrean Overlords," Yog-Sothoth said.

Confused, Aldrich said, "Don't pause. I don't know what that means."

Yog-Sothoth elaborated, "Empyrean Overlords are one of the titles given to existences who stand on equal ground with Azathoth. This multiverse is owned by our faction, and so we must retaliate by eliminating their Champions."

"Why can't you do it yourself then?"

"The Vast Unknown is in a state of chaos as a revered existence had met true death under the hands of unknown assailants. The movement of I might cause the situation to worsen and start a full-blown war, which we of the penultimate eldritch faction might not survive as our strongest, Azathoth, is in a state of never-ending slumber. Therefore, we wage battles using Champions such as you… I'm sure you understand your situation by now, no?"

"I understand. But would three arcanas suffice? The Earth that I technically originated from has developed fiction to the point where certain powers just triumph over others with ease," Aldrich remarked, referring to the 21st century YA novels of Earth.

"You mean the Systems and powers such as Death Authority and Reality Warping that are somehow wielded by mortals? Don't worry. You are a Champion and what some places would call a 'True Heaven's Chosen', you have immunity against their golden finger the same way they are to yours."

Sighing in relief, Aldrich was about to respond when Yog-Sothoth continued.

"Moreover, you have a certain advantage over them. An overwhelming advantage that made me confident in choosing you as my Champion..."

Aldrich's eyes widened.

"A total of thirteen innate arcanas were awakened. I thought Antoinette Zhao was an anomaly that we would've never seen again, but it turns out that we were wrong," Ramona stated, disbelief still in her voice.

"Antoinette Zhao, I've heard about her before but I couldn't find much information about her. It said that she had awakened five arcanas in the arcana trials, and although three of the five haven't yet been identified as she kept them as secrets, there was enough evidence for her to posthumously receive a world record for it," Aldrich said. He often found sources in arcana research related to her as well.

Sighing, Adamas said, "Indeed. Antoinette and I were close acquaintances, as her Pangu Arcana Combine and my Golden Meadows Arcana Combine often participated in expeditions back then. Unfortunately, a group of envious Chinese supremacists from Pangu Arcana Combine learned of her secret and planned to kill her for various unreasonable reasons. Somehow, they succeeded and might've gotten away from it if it weren't for Emperor Might, the founder of Pangu Arcana Combine, discovered their crime and punished them severely before killing them. It was a shocking but well-received action. Emperor Might wasn't only China's strongest arcanist, but also the world's strongest arcanist.

"Because of his strength and stature, some Chinese arcanists developed a strong sense of superiority, with people like the ones he punished were spreading propaganda. Luckily, he remained firm to his oath and never once strayed away from his path."

"You make that last part sound so deep," Aldrich snorted, amused at his father's words. "Emperor Might's family was unfairly uprooted from their homes and were given a small sum to restart their lives in Beijing City. His wealthier relatives looked down on him and he was rejected by a university because he unintentionally provoked someone. If there's anyone who's going to develop ultranationalism last, then it would undoubtedly be him."

"You've changed a lot, haven't you, kid?" Adamas' veins burst on his forehead.

Aldrich merely grinned in response.

"Calm down, love. He's just playing around," Ramona softly said.

"Aldrich," Dante spoke, the tone of his voice was the most serious that any of them had heard of in a while. "After Ishtar's awakening, we shall start testing the capabilities of your arcana. I need an hour or so to find good candidates for some of your arcanas though."

"Okay." Aldrich nodded. He, too, is very interested in his arcanas.

"Sugar, it's your turn." Ramona tapped the statue-esque Ishtar.

"Oh, right!" Ishtar went towards the ArcSphere and placed her hand on the sphere.

Ishtar was enveloped by a thin layer of light. Then, multiple circles of light appeared, rotating and going in reciprocating motions, seemingly scanning her. After two minutes, the lights disappeared.

"How'd I do?" Ishtar nervously asked.

"You did great, Pepper." Aldrich chuckled.

"Pe-Pepper…?" Ishtar sounded confused.

Ramona smiled, "Don't mind him, sugar. You're still sugar to me."

"What, I don't get it?" Ishtar ran towards them to see her results.

"Woah! I awakened two arcanas more than what mom and dad started with!" Ishtar exclaimed, excitedly.

"Leon and Ada were very strong Level 9 arcanists, and you've clearly inherited their talents," Ramona said.

Aldrich momentarily squinted as he heard those names.

Leon and Ada are Ishtar's parents, both of them unfortunately perished in the fallen city of Riyadh, on the day of Ishtar's birth no less. However, now that Aldrich thinks about it…

Ishtar's full name is Ishtar K. Wong, with her middle initial standing for Kennedy. Her father's full name is Leon S. Kennedy and her mother's full name is Ada Wong.

Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong are characters from the hit game series called Resident Evil on Planet Earth of Aldrich's original universe.

'I should've noticed that earlier, huh. Perhaps simply knowing I'm in a different universe was enough for him to instinctively dismiss such minor details. I'll have to pay a little more attention in the future, I guess,' Aldrich thought, then noticed Ishtar looking at him expectantly. Smiling, he hugged her tightly and shamelessly said, "I'll try out my Eldritch Transformation on you later, alright? Maybe you can even use your Disease Manipulation to turn my penis into tentacles. Only if it wasn't already tentacles, of course."

Ishtar made a bunch of embarrassed noises as she hid her blushing face away from the rest of her adoptive family.

Adamas silently sighed while Ramona smiled awkwardly.

"Four children and two grandchildren. Yet, to this day, I still have no perfect descendant," Dante mumbled, disappointed.

Hearing that, Aldrich simply laughed and said, "Perfection is for losers! Even some supreme beings would prefer to look ugly even if they could easily change their appearance."

"I'll be back soon enough," Dante said, not bothering with Aldrich's remarks. In a blur, he disappeared from everyone's sight and senses.

Dante didn't think much of Aldrich's words. He simply thought that the latter was referring to some transcendent arcanists who retained their normal appearance instead of making themselves look as perfect as most people would imagine them to be.

Never for a fraction of second did the old man think that his grandson was referring to a primordial eldritch deity

"Dad will be back soon. Even if he goes to the Lunar Citadel with his strength. Even with his spaceship it should only take him a quarter of an hour to go back and forth," Adamas said.

"A spaceship? Can humans travel to other star systems with that?" Aldrich inquired.

"It's plausible, of course, but it's not recommended. The spaceships of Earth lack the energy source and the offensive and defensive capabilities required to start true interstellar travel."

"Oh."
