Chapter 4

You weren't joking about being a lesbian?" he asked as she chuckled. "I see you're still doubting it, watch me make out at your dinner or whatever you call it," she whispered as the car came to a stop in front of the huge building. "You sure have a nice family house." she complimented, smiling at him. "Don't smile too much, it doesn't suit you." she gasped and turned to stare at him but he was already at the door.

"It's nice to have you here." Mrs Hanks said, walking over to Tristan but she knew him so well, and hugging him would be a total waste of time and an uproar of disaster. He had always made his hatred for her known. "Don't act as if you missed me, you'd want me dead if you had your way." he spat coldly, making Maze think for a while about what exactly was going on. Her eyes traveled around the room and immediately they fell on Tommy. She smiled, clicking her tongue. "Tonight's gonna be fun," she whispered and walked over to meet Delilah.

"Hi," she said lowly, picking up a drink from the bar. "Your hair."

"Oh red? I dyed it, old man loves red-haired girls," she whispered and Maze nodded.

"Are you Tristan's date? he never brings a girl home," she asked as Maze froze for a while before gaining her composure. it seems she knew next to nothing about the man she had to kill. "I'm_"

"Meet Maze Archibald, my date for the night and my newest employee." he introduced as Tommy's eyes grew wide. He needed no one to tell him she was the lady he'd hired, the one who'd kill his brother and bring his head to him. He smiled and walked swiftly up to Tristan.

"You sure have a good taste for female employees, I believe she's single." Tommy teased, walking around Maze, his gaze settling on her body as Tristan scoffed. "I hate to burst your imagination, she's a Les."

"I can make her change her mind."

"Alright, the food is served." Mrs Hanks said, leading the way to the dining hall. Delilah had her eyes feasting on Tristan and Maze tried her best not to bury her fist in her makeup disfigured face. The wench probably thought she was too beautiful to resist. "You brought a lady and__"

"She's my bodyguard. I got attacked on the night I returned and I thought, why not get a new hand?" he replied, shutting his father immediately. Tommy scoffed loudly, placing his hands on the table. "You chose her," he said sarcastically, his nose flaring in feigned anger and surprise.

"What happened to the chaste son who'd never cheat on his dead lover? who'd never be like his father and brother?" Tommy taunted, his eyes almost turning black but Mrs Hanks was quick to place a hand over his shoulder. "We should eat before getting upset. it's been a while since we sat like a family and trust me the last thing I want is for it to be ruined."

"You mean this charade?" Tristan asked, staring squarely at her right in the eyes. "Let's toast to your arrival, it's been two years since we last saw you and your date, who's she?" Mr Hanks asked as everyone lifted their glass and sipped from it.

"Maze Archibald, my newest employee."

The rest of the night passed by peacefully and Maze was glad it did. it gave her enough room to know what each brother was like, what got them pissed off easily, and what they liked.

"How did you do it?" she heard Delilah ask as they both sat, waiting for the family reunion inside to be over. Mrs Hanks had requested Delilah and Maze's exit.

"Do what?" she asked, looking deeply into Delilah's eyes as she froze.

"How did you get Tristan? How did you get to him?" she whispered, looking around. "I don't know what you're talking about, excuse me." Just then, Tristan emerged from the exit, adjusting his tie as she followed suit to the car.

"I'm damn tired but we have a place to be," he announced but she didn't say a word, just got into the driver's seat and sped out through the gates into the highway.

"She's a hottie," Ryan confessed, staring at Maze's photos from the dinner. "She is, I can hardly wait for what she plans to do within a week," Tommy replied, placing his cuffs on the table. "She's not a regular kind of girl, she's brutal I must confess."

"I can still try to make up a meeting with her if you wish."

Tommy nodded, taking in a deep breath. "So you'd fail woefully just like you did before? Humor me the. set up a meeting, we're going on deck for the weekend."

"The marine organization has their eyes on Hanks Marine organization and it's not a good thing, the last time two dead bodies were found in one of the cabins."

Tommy turned swiftly, his eyes almost closing. "Why am I just hearing about this? and whose dead body? which part of the country?" he was already moving to the door as Ryan stood up and followed immediately.

Ryan briefed him about the event of the dead bodies. It happened two months back and the corpses were female, from the autopsy they'd been strangled and left in the cabin of one of the visitors who'd visited the ship's hotel.

"Call in the general manager also ran me the CCTV footage from the last five months."

Maze stepped out of the car, coming to stand next to Tristan, her eyes taking in the huge building in front of her. it had just a small door for a huge building but she knew it wasn't just a normal house or building.

"Stay in the car, I'll be out shortly." she wanted to protest, to go in with him but that'd be suspicious and that was the last thing she wanted. "You gain their trust first before striking." her tutor back in the days would always say as they trained.

"Sure." she walked back to the car and watched him walk to the door, creaked the door open, and walked in.

Whatever this building held, she'd find out sooner or later. she thought calmly. After all, getting all his weaknesses was her major concern...

Tristan walked a little, making sure to keep his senses on alert, very soon, he'd be receiving news about his brother and he couldn't wait to see the anguish on Tommy's face, he'd so much love it.
