39 Vent, One of The Four Dark Mages
Anti-Libra Hideout- Nova had asked a question to Anti-Libra Leader Aeon, on why he had choosen Isabelle and tried to kill Chloe later-
(Aeon's Pov)
"It is because one of the sister is a fake one. Their parents had only one child..." I replied, intending to tell some information about Chloe and Isabelle.
"What!?" hearing that, Nova was unable to maintain his composure but he quickly recovered from it.
I told him what was the real reason behind these sibling's past. As I started explaining him, Nova faced some dark truth about their past.
"...." He went silent after hearing it all.
"Who knew that there was this kind of incident that took place few years ago...." said Nova as he was surprised by this fact.
When I knew about this incident, I immediately decided to kill Chloe and use Isabelle in a way that could benefit me. However, it was still a little bit surprising for me when I accessed the details of that incident. Chloe was used by someone she trusted the most....
I found some documents regarding that incident at Rednaught city from a certain place that was crowded by the lifeless people, lying on the floor as if they were brutally tortured and then killed by someone.
That is why, I had considered to dispose of Chloe as a result. However, she had survived the assualt and therefore is still alive. I can't target her that easily so that's why I had decided to atleast put some distance from her until I succeed in recruiting the Dark Demon Regal.

Part 2 (Chloe's Pov)
"This should be alright, you can move now Reina." said Elena.
"Thanks, Elena. He is really strong, guys please be careful from him." replied Reina as she had also warned us.
Ray immediately jumped into the close combat as he attacked in a cross pattern with his sword on the enemy but after the attack, the mage quickly made a move by attacking the forearms to divert the position of his hands in order to create a wide opening. Mage suddenly brought his hands close together, targeting the mid body (around the chest or stomach part), and released powerful shadow rays.
Ray was hit by the attack as he had failed to defend himself with sword or hands on the spot and he was forcefully pushed back to a distanceviolently, while struggling with the attack.
"Gah!" groaned Ray as he felt the intense pain after the attack stopped.
Voila launched the light projectiles as the mage deflected them all and targeted Kurt, who was trying to freeze the mage. The violent dark balls hit Kurt harshly.
"Ugh...!"
When I unleashed the hurricane on the enemy, he extended his fingers and made a spear hand as he horizontally sliced through the hurricane. My attack was a complete failure just like others.
Voila was persistent as she launched the light projectiles, trying to inflict damages but mage deflected them and immediately made a close distance. Voila had started to attack with her sword but all of her struggles went in vain as the enemy was defending himself perfectly. Then he attacked the solar plexus of Voila's and she struggled a little bit with breathing process however, the enemy took the opportunity and hit her with his bare hands.
"Argh...ugh..."
"You all would have been slaughtered by me already if you hadn't used the artifact....You are not even capable of using the strength of it's body. Just give up and give me the artifact then maybe I can spare your lives for a little longer..." He said.
Elena helped Voila stand up and started healing her wounds.
"I don't know but it does seem like he is way more powerful than the Giant Serpent we had fought with before." remarked Voila as she glared at the enemy.
Ryuji launched the earth spikes but it was also deflected as well by the enemy, who used his hands as the shield.
"Nice! Keep it up like this and teach them a lesson for not messing with us!" exclaimed Mayor as he looked happy.
"...."
Ray started rushing as he unleashed flame tornado with the help of his flame dance magi attack. The mage was hit by the violent tornado but the erupted flames were immediately vanished in air as Ray got hit by the barrage of punches from the enemy, influenced with dark element.
"Ray!"
"Ugh...argh...well don't worry I am alright, no serious injury but it hurts....tch he is strong.." said frustrated Ray.
Elena is healing Voila so she can't help Ray or others at this moment. Elena should have been able to heal anyone, including herself, quickly but enemy had put the curse on Voila that stopped the process of healing at higher rate. This curse ability is normally used in battles and some curse magics can even stop the healing process completely for a while.
Elena's healing abilitiy is in high level and it should have been increased even more by the powers we got from the Azoth Cave that represents as the body of White Tear. But despite that, enemy's curse ability to slow down healing progression is still high enough to compete with Elena's healing ability.
"It annoys me, really." said Reina, unable to hide her frustration.
"At this rate, we will be defeated... What should we do? Is there no way? No! I can't allow this to happen!". I thought as I was also trying to find the way to defeat the mage.
Elena had finished healing Voila's wound and tried to heal Ray but-
"Elena, don't heal him as he is also being cursed." I said.
"But!"
"He is hurt, Chloe." said Reina.
"I know but..." I looked at Ray and-
"Ray, can you keep attacking the enemy? Trust me, I have a plan." I said.
"Alright, I believe you but don't except much from me." He replied.
"Voila, support Ray by attacking the mage." I said.
"Understood!"
"Ryuji and Kurt, try using your earth spikes and freeze magics to keep supporting both Ray and Voila."
"Yes!"
"Alright!"
I had stopped Elena from healing others for a reason. I had to make sure that the enemy is busy, fighting with others. From what I can see, Ray and others were not badly hurt so it was fine. We need to keep attacking our opponent.
I gestured Elena and she understood what she needed to do.
Kurt kept trying to freeze the opponent. The mage avoided Kurt's attack but he was unable to do few time as he was also struggling a little bit against persistent attacks by Ray and Voila. Ryuji was also attacking the mage and his attacks really hit the mage a few times.
"I see, you all are persistent and will try to keep attacking me despite being hit by my violent attack..." said opponent.
"Heh, are you struggling?"
"...!?"
When Reina spoke then mage realised that one person hadn't engaged in the battle from the front but it was too late as the opponent got attacked by Reina. Reina was perfectly using her weapon against him due to her surprising approach. I had also gestured Reina to attack at the perfect time.
".....!?"
This time Voila and Ray perfectly landed their attacks on the enemy. Kurt's magic took the mage by surprise and it was thanks to Reina's ambush. Ryuji unleashed violent earth spikes as the mage took the powerful hit.
"Argh...ugh!"
Our attacks were working and then everyone moved aside to make a distance as my hurricane approached the opponent.
"Well..."
The mage said as if he had anticipated to get assualted by another attack while he had increased his defence with the help of magic energy.
"Wow, he survived yet another attack. He is tough." said Reina as she was surprised.
Apparently, he had managed to defend himself from my attack as well.
"It looks like."
Mage quickly tried to unleash strong dark balls, using high amount of magic energy, to attack all of us but it was too late-
"Elena! Now!" I signaled her to use her huge light projectile.
"Yes! You are going to suffer just like we did! Take this!" exclaimed Elena as she sent the projectile towards the mage.
"Hadn't excepted that...."
Opponent, without showing any fear, designated the incoming attack to counter it with his dark balls despite knowing that it was not enough to confront that attack. Elena's this attack was already strong but it is enhanced by the White Tear's body and she had even started concentrating huge amount of magic energy into her attack since I gestured her.
All of the dark balls were destroyed by it and the mage got hit by the attack brutally. Dark Elements are effective against Light and vice versa. Since Elena's element is light and the opponent's element is dark, it made an huge impact along with enhancement in that attack. However-
When the smoke disappeared, we witnessed that our opponent was still standing as he was in his fighting stance. He was badly hurt but he didn't seemed to give up.
"I am....Vent, one of the Four Dark Mages and you have earned my respect however, I will not give up after coming this far." He said, revealing his name.
