The sun was already shifting westward as Serene followed Ernacht through the gardens of the Esprit Palace. Her two sisters followed behind her, hand in hand. For a moment, she remembered the first time she met the Queen of Sucroten, the woman who ruled Sucroten Castle and the woman who slowly killed their two mothers.

Serene and her two younger sisters' mothers are also a twin pair. The two of them were beautiful twin girls who caught the attention of the King.
