1 A Bet

"So how much can you bet this time?" asked a man with blue eyes.

"One hundred thousand dollars," replied a man with green eyes casually.

"Three hundred thousand.."

"Five hundred thousand.."

"What about you, Edward?" the green-eyed man asked a man named Edward. The man who had been silent all this time without uttering a word since he arrived inside the VIP room in the Twilllight Bar.

"I'm not interested in stupid bets on car games. Have you forgotten? I haven't done it in a very long time," replied Edward, not at all interested in the bets his friends were making.

A man with green eyes named Marco had now pulled the bottle of Whiskey in Edward's hand and intended to restrain the man who wanted to drink again. "If you're not interested... what about that woman?" Marco asked, pointing to a woman sitting on a bar stool alone and busy finishing the Red Wine on the table. That woman really looks pathetic. And of course it wasn't the first time drinking alone as it is now.

"Did you forget? I don't like pathetic women like that? I'll just let you guys bet this time," Edward replied, this time pulling the bottle containing the Whiskey that Marco had previously held. The man took a leisurely gulp of Whiskey without any problems.

"But isn't that interesting? I heard from the waiter that that woman has come here many times because she was too heartbroken. I'm five hundred thousand dollars for this," said the blue-eyed man named Joe.

"I bet my house is in Beverly Hills," Marco said now very casually as he shoved his house keys effortlessly onto the table.

"My parents will be very angry if I risk the house. So, I will use only one million dollars," said another man named Kevin. The man took out his credit card on the table.

"Two million dollars if Edward gets that woman to her knees," said one last man named Sam.

Edward looked at all the cards and one house key that was on the table. The man had absolutely no interest in making a bet. Especially with a woman with a broken heart. "I'm not going to bet," Edward decided. Made the four men sitting beside and in front of him already let out a sigh.

"Are you that weak now? Are you afraid you'll end up falling in love with that woman? Or... you really don't have any money?" Marco asked with great emphasis making Edward who previously wanted to pour his Whiskey back into the glass to look into the eyes of the man sitting across from him.

"Are you underestimating me now? You know, I've never lost a bet like this," Edward said. The man now took out two keys from the pocket of the jeans he was wearing.

"I bet on my two sports cars. If you lose, be prepared to give up everything," Edward said with great emphasis and his eyes fell on Marco.

"We agreed on this bet didn't we?"

Roseane Brooke re-poured the Red Wine into the glass with some difficulty as she had already finished the previous three bottles. "Do you really like Red Wine?" Edward asked as he grabbed the bottle in Rose's hand.l The woman had intended to refuse but Edward quickly poured the Red Wine into the glass casually. And Rose took a quick gulp.

"Get out of the way! I don't need your help with this," said Rose very loudly. Edward's soft laugh was heard now.

"My name is Edward. We can be friends from now on and I can help you pour a drink or more," Edward said in Rose's ear. The woman felt a little goosebumps down her spine because of Edward's words just now.

Rose pushed him away from getting too close to her. But then, suddenly the woman's balance was quickly lost due to drinking too much. Edward touched the back of Rose who was now unconscious because she was too drunk. The man turned his gaze to his friends who were in the VIP room.

"Alright. I'll take you somewhere convenient."
