The Search...

"Hello! Hello!" Alya called the police immediately after hearing Lisa didn't make it back home. She had been back from her one night vacation with Julio and decided to check on her. Her only sister,  Brinna which was also her only family was terrified when she heard Lisa planned on coming back home but hadn't made it.

"911,  what's your emergency?" A woman answered to her call.

"Yes, my friend, Lisa, didn't make it home last night"

"Please be more specific. A person can be reported missing after 24 hours." she cuts Alya who had been explaining her emergency.

"Let me finish"

Alya was a tall, toffee-skinned girl. Her lips were heart-shaped with short Bourbon hair kept at chin level. She impatiently walked up and down her living room with her phone on loudspeaker. Constantly looking at Brinna who was seated at the corner of the room.

"She was given a route yesternight by a dashing friend of hers. Unfortunately,  it was 'The Wickets' lane" she paused hoping the woman will say something "Won't you say shit!?"

The woman on the other line rolled her eyes "Am afraid I'd have to check that 'The Wi...ckeds' you say"

"Wickets with a t" she scoffed and quickly contradicted.

"Yes ma'am" this bitch is rude...she thought

The woman on the other side of the line went silent for some minutes then came back with some information.

"Let's see here, they kill their targets by slicing their throats and taking their bodies or whatsoever object left on the scene,  leaving no trace of someone dying on that spot"

"And the body?? What do they do with the body"

Alya only knew the method of killing...a quick death... Something she wanted for Lisa. She had had moments with her and wouldn't want her to suffer but she never knew what was to become of her body.

"Says here 'Unknown'- Still To Be Discovered. I'll send someone down there to check it up"

"Thank you very much for your help"

"No worries,  I'm-" Alya ended the call "For a moment, I thought she had some manners" she murmured to herself.

            ********

After an hour or so of getting prepared to check the crime scene. The last place Lisa could have been 'The Wickets' lane, she met a shady guy and her suspicions were high forgetting what the woman told her.

She hid by a corner then to another with swift but fast movements. He bent to smear the floor and sniffed it "I know you're there"

Alya's eyes widened before turning to a nasty glare. Who's this guy?

"You can come out,  I won't bite" he lets out a low chuckle.

She slowly exposed herself not knowing what might happen to her next.

"Who are you?" She asked dryly as she slowly approached the guy who was crouching.

He sent a hand into his pocket and her body stiffened. Scared to death till she finally realised it was a police badge.

"The name's Scott" he stood on his feet "Leonard Scott"

He was a little bit taller than her and looked about her age. Black hair, blue eyes, lean figure..was this guy really a detective or a model??

"And am pretty sure you're the rude caller in search of her friend...Lisa, if am correct"

Alya snapped out of her thoughts and flinched a bit when she heard his description of her "Excuse me!! Who's rude?"

He looked at her then moved away "I came not long ago and I've discovered a thing or two" ignoring her question "Anyone would have noticed the purse." He took the purse from the ground "Is this Lisa's? Miss..."

"Alya Collins and yes it is hers" snatching the purse from Scotts hand.

He looked away and kept on "Secondly,  the blood stain here is new and as though someone tried wiping it"

"Maybe a passerby was bleeding and felt it right to wipe his stains or maybe someone decided to do it-"

"Or maybe Lisa was injured but not killed"

"What do you mean not killed?" This wasn't good news for Alya "If it were 'The Wickets' she'd be gone by now and I know it was them" tears slowly formed and ran down her cheeks. "I mean,  who else could it be?"

"An imposter...one who tried being a copycat but failed to fully remove all evidence"

"An?? How can you be so sure?"

"I can't be too accurate but the distance between the bloodstain and her purse is large enough to tell it was a one man's job" He bent down again to analyse the blood "Two people would be more careful than this"

"Then...then where's her body?" Hoping for an answer.

"That, I don't know."
