A/N; hi guys…

Thank you for supporting the book, but as I said my very busy schedule won't allow me post as much

Also… I've been working on a short story collection, that would be out soon!

Trisha's POV

If the blogs and tabloids didn't make it clear, the gossip and questioning eyes I got from my colleagues and pretty much anyone I walked past made it clear.

Everything resurfaced, more glaring this time. I didn't even think I had it in me to even look at the blogs again.

It was all very annoying, too annoying!

I parked my car in the underground garage before entering the elevator, as I stepped out of it, my hands grazed the window.

This car, this pretty black car was one of the only things that truly belonged to me. One Dave and his handsy daughter didn't manage to get their hands on.

Speaking of the imbecile, turns out he and his daughter Adriana had taken a flight out of the country to God knows where.

They better watch out, my mom may have that beautiful spirit, making her forgive easily, but I definitely don't. Not only will I manage to take every last digit of my family's wealth back from the bastard, I'll leave him in a state where he would feel too ashamed to step out of his hiding spot.

I took steady breaths as I headed towards the elevator, to at least calm myself.

Dave and his bitch daughter weren't worth my attention just yet.

Now I needed to focus my attention on following mom's plans.

We needed to pack the things we needed, sell most of the things left and find a new place.

If we at least sell most of the things in the house, we won't be worried about the buyer then. That would be Dave's problems.

As I walked towards my office, it was clear as day every one was up to date. It doesnt matter anyway, I wasn't here to make friends, I was here for my job.

Settling into my swivel chair, I stared at the plaque on my desk. I had worked hard for this, and it was going to continue that way.

I expected the eyes that followed me as I walked past, I expected the whispers about me and my mom, what I didn't expect however was a phone call by an old friend.

"Austin Meyers"

Oh how long Ive seen this man.

"Hello!", He said, his voice being a tad bit deeper from the last time I'd heard him talk.

"Wow, look who decided to call after all this time!", I said, having a hunch that he might have seen the news.

"What do you mean Trish, I came around like last three months!", He retorted.

"Do you hear yourself Austin, last three months!"

"Okay fine, fine. It's all my fault!"

"Yes it is!"

"Are you okay though, how's mom doing!?", He asked referring to my mom.

"We are okay! Not too good, but we're getting through it!"

"Look, I'm in town, let's have dinner, all of us, I'm going to call Elle too! How's that?", He asked

"Sounds good, I'll tell you more later tonight!",

"Okay Trish, I'll text you where dinner's going to be at!"

"Okay then, bye!!" I said before hanging up.

He didn't even need to get back to me, I knew exactly where we were going to have dinner. At Elle's place.

I mean logically speaking, we were in the process of moving out , and Austin is probably going to stay at a hotel during his time here.

That didn't mean he didn't text me, and like I predicted we were having dinner at Elle's place.

I just hoped Giselle and her husband didn't mind, it felt like we were intruding on their personal space.

The rest of the day went by with me being cooped up in my office, at least getting some work done.

A part of me didn't want to go outside or associate with anyone at the point, it was inevitable, but for now, I just wanted some time for myself.

I at least had something to look forward to, The dinner at Elle's place.

I think I might have been the first person to leave for the day. I wasnt quite sure but it seemed like it, the garage was still packed, and most people were just leaving once I signed out.

When I got to Elle's house however, it seemed like I was the last person to come home. Yeah home…

I didn't expect to be engulfed and lifted in the air like a child, Austin's giggle behind me was expected though.

"Oh my God Austin, you still haven't changed. Youre not being prim and proper!", I said, laughing with him.

It was an inside joke between all three of us, so Elle joined in as soon as I said it.

"I missed you guys!", Austin said, wrapping me and Elle in his arms.

Three of us, me, Elle and him, we are child hood besties, basically, we grew up together, so romantic feelings never existed.

"I don't know how you can be so stoic around every other person when you're this playful!", Elle said as we all disengaged from the hug.

"What? You can't possibly expect me to pretend around you two. That's a whole lot of weird!", He said as he ruffled our hair

The night went well, we caught up on everything, he told us about how he lived and his mom, and we told him about everything, from when Mom caught Dave cheating!.

My revenge for Dave didn't even seem as vile to me anymore, because I kept begging Austin not to ruin the guy's life just yet.

Yes, Austin was stinking rich, really rich, the kind of rich with connections, the one you didn't want to mess with.

He was involved in petrochemicals and his connections scared me.

He slept in the mansion with all of us, but we couldn't stay up because we all had to be somewhere the next day.

That didn't mean we didn't catch up when the grown ups went to bed.

"So this Collin guy was cheating on you?!", He asked yet again.

"You know what Elle, we should go to bed! Austin had a long flight so he should get some rest!" I said as I dragged Elle towards where our room was.

Then she finally got the memo! She just had to keep telling him about Collin.

Austin reluctantly went to his deisgnated room after he gave us a forced smile.

When he closed his door, Elle faced me, saying, "he's going to kill Collin, isn't he!?"
