Thirty Eight

Even after Clark was able to get a call through to Austin, he had no idea what they had discussed,  well until Matthew called him to his office.

"Book a flight to landmark for two! We are going there for a few days!"Matthew said, taking Clark off guard.

"Buy a house not too far from Austin, it's going to be like a mini vacation!"

"But sir, you have meetings stacked for the next few days!?", Clark said, genuinely wondering if his boss was about to fly to landmark and miss those very important meetings for a mini vacation.

Matthew shot him a look, Clark immediately understanding the fact that the boss didn't care, he was the boss after all!

"I'll get to it right away sir!", Clark said, before he left Matthew's office.

As he walked towards his office, he wondered why his boos always made him tag along, he wasn't his babysitter!

Anyways, it paid him more, so he didn't really mind, and he got to travel to different countries!

Back in landmark, Alex was having a mental debate.

His sister had come a few days ago, and they had been talking, and he told her about Elle.

The fellow officer he had a huge crush on.

She had told him to tell her how he felt, and sitting there, Alex wondered if she even felt the same with the way she reacted, he wondered if she even noticed him.

He had liked her for a while, but he was always too busy to sneak in a conversation, plus they were on very different levels and teams!

He wondered if she would even want to go out with him.

He was starting to get frustrated, how could one lady do so much damage in one man's head.

But, he had to admit, she was very beautiful and kind and sassy at the same time, and her smile, or the way she walks, and when she walks…

Alex quickly snapped out of it, well whatever he was thinking, because he shouldn't be getting to that!

Trisha's POV.

"You know I told you he likes you right!?", I said as I walked with Elle.

We were currently on my lunch break, and so we took a walk around the block!

"I mean even if he did, I clearly saw him with the lady twice!", Elle said, after her heart was slightly broken.

"Are you really bothered about the lady?!", I asked and Elle nodded.

"Well, if you're that curious, why don't you ask him when you agree to go on the date!" I continued.

"You seriously want me to go on this date!?", She asked me, wondering why I  kept pressing it

"Well obviously, have you seen that man! Plus what if the lady doesn't even matter! What if something beautiful could have stemmed from whatever you guys have!", I said, completely making sense.

"Well, I want to go, I mean, when he asked me, he looked so hot!", Elle siad, already daydreaming.

"Well we better get back, so you can go back to your office and agree to the damn date!", I said, wondering what the girl was thinking about.

I was so happy for Elle, she really deserved this! She deserved to move forward and be happy.

I didn't want to admit to her, but it kind of made me feel sad, only if Collin hadn't been a fool! I needed a drink, and yes during a week day.

I quickly dialed Austin's number, even if he had a job or not, he was currently jobless, and so I needed him to chaperone me as I want to drink my guts out.

"Hey Austin!", I said into the phone as I settled into my swivel chair.

"I didn't do anything this time, Trisha!", He said.

"Well I know you didn't, unless you did!"

"Well I didn't, not that you know!!"

"Austin, what did you do!",

"Nothing, I didn't do anything!"

"Have a drink with me tonight?" I asked

"Well, I would, but I have to see my friend who's visiting from abroad!"

"Good then, I can join in! I can't get to see a new friend and have multiple drinks!"

"What happened Trisha, you absolutely do not sound like yourself!"

"I just feel a little down!", I admitted.

"Well, drinks it is then!"
