8 Chapter 8: Flame On!
(OMG! Slept for 12 hours straight. My bad.
Do you guys care that I use the other names when he transforms? Do you prefer using those names or just calling him Ben in every form?)
Ben transformed into a plasma-based life-form whose body was composed of a super hot inner plasma body covered by dark reddish brown volcanic rocks. His feet had a slight oval-like design with only two pointed, front toes and one back toe. His tongue was also made of fire while his collarbone resembled a volcano that generated a fiery "hair" that covered his head, leaving his mask-like face visible with no nose or ears.
The Omnitrix symbol was in the center of the creature's chest and both of his shoulders had small holes in them where fire surged and receded from, resembling small volcanos.
"Heatblast!" the creature shouted when the light faded
Bobby saw that Ben had transformed so he decided to transform himself as well. Bobby's skin became pitch black while his eyes started to emit a golden light from them.
The duo stared at each other while all the other students got back, ready to see the new kid and the (physically) strongest of the New Mutants.
The duo began to unleash a large amount of heat, instantly increasing the heat in the room to uncomfortable levels for any student that was not a pyrokinetic. The rest began to hide behind the students that could control ice who made a powerful wall of ice between them.
Meggan opened one of her cat eyes when she felt the temperature change before closing her eyes to go back to sleep. Another perk of being so powerful, temperatures didn't affect her as her body would naturally adjust to any.
"Not bad. But not good enough," Heatblast taunted as the room began to quickly cool off. He restrained his own temperature to manageable levels for other people while also absorbing the heat from Bobby's body.
Even though Ben wasn't great at controlling his flames, he was excellent at controlling heat and suppressing flames. He made sure to practice this so he didn't accidentally hurt anyone or property when he used Heatblast.
Bobby felt all the power leaving his body as he lost control of himself. He tried his best to resist Heatblast's power but in less than a minute, Bobby was back to his normal form, feeling completely drained of all his energy.
"Fu..." Bobby was about to curse when he fell to the ground unconscious. Ben and the other students were shocked when they saw that but then they heard Meggan speak up.
"Don't worry about him too much. That kid is solar-powered and he just had his battery drained. New kid, set him on fire. He will recover pretty fast that way,"the cat spoke up from her spot. She did the usual cat stretch that looked strangely comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time before curling back up as she laid back down.
Ben looked at her worriedly but did as she said. He fired a small ball of fire that landed on Bobby's back. As he did, Ben was amazed when he saw the flame turn black, losing all the light to it.
"Whoa. That's pretty cool," Heatblast admitted before turning around and seeing Amara and Sooraya looking at him with gazes of admiration.
"That was awesome. You sucked up all of his energy like it was nothing," Amara complimented him before admiring his body. "And your body looks cool too. Goes perfectly with mine."
Before Heatblast could say anything, Amara's body began to glow brightly before revealing her powered form. She looked exactly like her regular self but her entire body seemed to made out of pure lava. If it was in ancient times, many would have considered her some type of nymph or nature spirit from her appearance.
Sooraya had to take several steps back because unlike Heatblast, Magma could barely control the intense heat that she gave off. Most of her training was focused on not accidentally causing earthquakes or making volcanoes appear.
"Hot," Heatblast made a corny joke that somehow managed to get a laugh out of both girls.
"Thanks. Wonder how hot it can get with the two of us together," Amara took a step closer to Heatblast, placing her finger on the Omnitrix symbol on his chest. Even as a being made of plasma and molten rock, Ben felt a shiver go up his spine.
Sooraya saw that she was being a third wheel so she made up some excuse and walked off to go practice on her own. The other students also left the pair alone with they saw the ambiguous atmosphere between the duo so for the rest of the class, Heatblast and Amara decided to help each other with their weaknesses.
The former helped Amara practice regulating her temperature while she helped Heatblast practice his aim with his torrents of flames. Amara was naturally more skilled since she was able to add molten rock to her attacks which increased her damage output and helped control the direction of it.
While they were training, the video of Ben beating Bobby had spread across the school forum. Everyone who had a moment to check their phone had seen Bobby fall straight on his face while it looked like Ben did nothing.
"That's another one of Ben's forms?"
"Can confirm. He called it Heatblast."
"How'd he beat Bobby? Did Mrs. Braddock say that he was drained? Did he forget to recharge or did Ben drain him?"
"Can he do that?"
"If he can, that means the Hellions got another powerhouse."
"He can also turn into a werewolf called Blitzerwolf! He looks so cool!"
"3 forms and he can use magic? We gotta protest to get him transferred to another team. Otherwise, the Hellions will remain undefeated."

White Knights were what other students called the Hellions since they were under Emma Frost who was called The White Queen.
Many students were impressed by Ben's victory but also complaining about the Hellions getting another powerful member.
By the time class ended, Ben had gotten used to using Heatblast's flames to aim at moving targets.
Ben bid Sooraya goodbye as he left with Amara for their next class, unaware that he had stirred up even more of a commotion than the night before.
