Washington B.C. Part 2

We were still being chased by the oversized rodent, when suddenly it jumped over Penn, and I, and cornered the others against the wall. Luckily, sort of, since the thing jumped over us, we were knocked to the ground into a blind spot of the cameras.

I grabbed the hamsters leg that was closest to me and began to drain it of its DNA. Normally it would just become a dried up husk when an Osmosian drains a creature's DNA, but that's because they went for the DNA attached to the life force, as it's the most 'filling'.

But I wasn't just draining its life force, I was draining DNA from everything that this rodent has, hair, muscle tissue, skin, bones, nails, eyes, organs, nothing would be left behind.

The giant hamster couldn't even properly move as I started to drain it of everything that made it what it was. And just like Spider-Man in Infinity War it began to dissolve into nothing but dust, starting from the head, and ending where my hand once touched it.

"Nico... what did you do?...." Aww, fuck, I forgot to account for Max seeing me do that. He probably knows what an Osmosian absorbing a living creature looks like, so seeing me go beyond what he knows must be suspicious. I'll need to play the innocent card.

"I-I-.... I just didn't want it to hurt you guys, I-I didn't mean to...." It was easy to make my voice stutter, and make myself seem weak in this scenario. I'll have to be more careful the next time I absorb anything living again.

Max looked at me for a second with a look of caution, but it quickly changed once he saw how I 'genuinely' didn't mean to do what I did.

"*Sighs* Well, what's done is done. Just make sure you never go past your limit, and don't do that to anything sentient." No promises Max, I already feel stronger from absorbing that hamster, and I'm not even trying to use its DNA, maybe it's a passive thing that mom put in my body without my knowledge.

After Max said that though, I could hear, and feel the giant frog that Animo rode on heading in our direction. When he arrived he was shocked to see that one of his creatures was nowhere to be found.

"I don't know what you did with my creation, but it does not matter, you can not stop me! I will turn Washington D.C. to Washington B.C.!" Animo yelled as he jumped onto his mutated parrot that flew near him, the bird then when through the skylight of the store, with the giant frog following close behind it.

Since no one, other than us, saw what happened to the hamster, there was no one to praise anyone. So, we quickly left the store to go chase Animo in the Rust Bucket.

Soon we were speeding down the road, Gwen was on her laptop trying to find info on Animo, Lucy and I were across from her, and Penn was in the passenger seat next to Max. Those two were making sure to try and keep an eye on the giant parrot that Animo was riding.

"Ah, just like the good old days, before I retired." Before Gwen would have asked about Max's profession, but because of me, he already told all of us long ago about him being a Plumber.

"I guess I'm following my dad's path then." Devin Levin was the father to this body, so it makes sense that I should call him my dad, though in truth I see mom as my only parental figure, even if I haven't seen her since I first met her.

"Ha! I guess you're right, Nico, you are following in your old man's footsteps." Even though Max knows about how dangerous he is to be in his line of work, he was still nostalgic to feel like he was back in the thick of it with a Levin by his side.

"Guys listen to this! Five years ago Dr. Animo was a promising researcher in veterinary science, but it turned out he was doing all these twisted genetic experiments where he mutated animals. And when he did when some big prize called the Verities Award he flipped out." Gwen said when she finally found info on the mutant making doctor.

"So he's an old genetic researching man child, got it!" Am I wrong though, his reason for starting this shit was, 'I didn't get what I want, so I'll throw a tantrum across a district!'. The guy is just an old man child!

I heard the screech of the parrot from outside the RV, it's heading to their first destination before getting what Animo wanted most. "We've lost him, he could be going anywhere in Washington D.C."

"Or Washington B.C." Gwen's response to Max made Penn realize where Animo was heading, which I'm surprised Gwen didn't catch on to first.

"That's it! I know where he's going, the Natural History Museum!" At Penn's words Max quickly turned the RV to go to the museum, and sadly, cue him driving like crazy to get to the museum before Animo does anything bad, almost making me lose my lunch again.

Though, thanks to Max's crazy driving, we managed to get there in a matter of minutes. Once we got there we noticed the giant hole in the side of it, we all headed towards it, to see if Animo was really here.

"Something tells me we're on the right track, good thinking Penn." Max said when Penn grabbed a large feather that belonged to the giant parrot Animo rode.

"Come on guys, let's head in before Animo somehow makes things more complicated." I really wanted to see what would happen if I absorbed a reanimated T-Rex, even if it might not work, I still want to know what'll happen if I do it!

We walked into the museum, seeing various fossils littered across the rooms, I think there was a human skull in one of them. Eventually we saw the mad doctor himself, and he noticed our presence.

"You are very persistent, I hate persistent." Animo said after he put the finishing touches on his Transmodulator.

"We all know about you and your freakazoid experiments Dr. Animo, it's over!" Okay, I'm beginning to get kind of annoyed with all the dialogue being the same, I'm just going to cause some chaos, because I don't feel like listening to a villain speech I've heard hundreds of times before.

"Oh, but it's only ju-" Before Animo could continue I quickly interrupted him.

"Yeah, yeah, phase two, dormant cells, just revive the damn Mammoth so you can feel better about your sad pathetic life that's been solely focused on stupid revenge for the last couple of years." I may enjoy what he's going to make, since it'll give me more things to absorb, but Animo himself, is just plain pathetic.

.

.

.

Wait, why are they all so quiet, I looked at the others, and all their mouths were agape. Was what I said really that shocking? I thought that was a completely normal response.

"Holy shit, Nico, I didn't expect you of all people to say that." Lucy the hell do you mean? That was a completely normal response!

"What do you mean by that? It's not like I said anything shocking." Also, that doesn't explain why Animo is silent too- IS HE FUCKING CRYING!?! DID I JUST MAKE A GROWN MAN CRY!?!?

"What's shocking is you said that YOU. You've always tried to be the most polite out of all of us." I- okay, actually Gwen has a point. Even when I insulted someone, it was never to this extant. Why did I say that then? Has my personality actually started to change since that concussion, or is this an effect of completely absorbing a living creature?

"Silence you- you insufferable child! I will have my place in history!" Without further hesitation, and plenty of tears, Animo finally aimed his Transmodulator at the museum's Mammoth, and activated it. The creature glowed red from the blast of energy, and soon, just like Animo wanted, it came back to life.

"Behold my genius child!" Animo yelled at me as he ran to a different exhibit, leaving us with the now living Mammoth.

"You guys go after Animo, I'll deal with jumbo!" Penn activated the Omnitrix, and went for the first alien that appeared, Four Arms (of the Tetramand Species). This form reminded me a lot of Princess Looma if she didn't wear a helmet, except for the fact that for some reason, Penn's shirt now had a boob window and her shirt was cropped showing her fucking abs! It's starting feel like this shit is on purpose gods dammit!

Penn immediately charged the Mammoth and wrestled it to the ground. The rest of us went to follow Animo to the exhibit he went to, where the skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus was held.

But, in the hallway that led to it, we met face to beak with Animo's giant parrot mutant. It looks like he ordered it to stand guard for him. The parrot screeched at us in a manner that said it was going to kill us if we went any further.

Gwen was going to grab a spear that was attached to a cave man figure, and Lucy was going to try enlarge her fist to punch the big bird. But I reacted before either of them could finish what they were going to do, by outstretching my hand to the bird, and encasing all, but its head in ice.

"Looks like frozen chicken is on the menu for me..." I said as I walked up to the bird, and was about to place my hand on its head, but Max grabbed my shoulder.

"Nico, don't. You shouldn't absorb more creature's, the last one was an accident, but this one is already subdued." Max, I get you're trying to keep me from doing something I might regret, but just stop.

"Max, tell me, haven't you found it odd that we haven't seen a single security guard here? A museum like this would have plenty on staff at night, yet we haven't even seen one." I said this quietly enough, so Max could hear me, but the girls couldn't. I always did find this part odd, why weren't there any people to try and stop Animo here? But looking closely at this bird, I know that I already have my answer.

"Nico... what are you suggesting?..." Max let go of my shoulder, and moved to my right.

"Look at its beak, I think that's all that's left of them..." On the parrots beak was dried blood, it was enough to be noticeable up close, but from a distance you wouldn't know it's there.

When Max finally noticed the blood, it all clicked in for him, Animo had used his mutants to kill the security guards, and then made them eat the corpses.

"These things have killed people, they've eaten people. They are like a rabid animal, and what do you do with rabid animals, Grandpa?" I said as I laid my hand on top of the parrots head without absorbing it yet.

"...." To Max's lack of a response I started the process, the same one I did to the hamster. The parrot began to turn to dust, but before it could start to crumble into nothing it let out one final pain filled screech. When it was gone, I could once again feel that I had gotten stronger.

"Let's stop Animo, before he can hurt anyone else." I said as I walked to where the mad doctor was sure to be, Max and the girls followed close behind me.

When we finally got to the room Animo was already using his Transmodulator to bring back to life the dinosaur. Muscle, skin, tissue, it practically all came back on the creature, though there were pieces missing, making it look like a zombie dino.

"Witness my masterpiece!" Animo yelled out as the Tyranosaurus Rex stepped forward, ready to attack us. But, I was too tired for this shit anymore, and just wanted to end it.

All it took was the speed of XLR8 and a jump up to it's head, before it could even think, and I touched its head, already beginning to absorb it like the others. But, this felt different, for a second I swear I could feel, and hear a creature that just wanted to be put to rest. This dinosaur knows that it shouldn't be alive, and it just wants to go back to what should have been its eternal slumber.

"Go to sleep, no one will bother you anymore." With those words, I finished the process, turning the once reanimated dinosaur back into a skeleton, and then into nothing but dust, never to be used by anyone like Animo ever again.

"N-No- how!?! How did you destroy my masterpiece?!?!" I didn't even bother answer Animo when I landed on the ground, instead I ran up to him and punched him as hard as I could. I expected that he would just fall to the ground, or stumble backwards, but, surprisingly, I managed to knock him out with just one punch.

"Okay guys were's Ani-woah." Penn, still in her Four Arms form, said when she arrived to the scene. I guess she didn't expect me to be standing over an unconscious Animo.

"Max, call the police. I'm heading to the Rust Bucket, I need a nap." I didn't expect my second Ben 10 styled adventure to turn out like this. Absorbing three different (semi) living creatures even has me feeling weird, I need to go lay down and sort through this new DNA and abilites that I can use.

As I walked out of Natural History Museum I didn't even look at the other's, I didn't want to know if they're looking at me differently, especially if they are looking at me with pity. Why couldn't today have just ended in jokes and fun, and not this bullshit?
