The Mercenary for hire (2)

Phil's alien capturing Business. A sign was hung at the entrance of a small downtown apartment.

"Knock Knock." A noise was heard when a Grey hair man was checking a pile of papers.

"Come in." He said as he thought it might be a customer.

"Phil. You there." Then he heard a familiar voice as the door was opened.

"Max. Is that you?" The grey hair man named Phil said as he got up.

"Max. It's a long time no see." Phil said as he hugged Max.

"You gained a lot of weight," Phil said as he stopped hugging Max.

"Yeah. Retirement makes me lose my touch. It seems that it's not the same for you." Max said to Phil.

"Come in. Do you want a drink?" Phil said to Max as he leads him into his office.

Then he noticed Ben and Gwen who were behind Max.

He then noticed the watch that Ben was wearing on his arm immediately.

"That symbol on that watch. It looked familiar." Phil said as he saw the Omnitrix.

"Yeah. I am here because I wanted to ask you something." Max said to Phil.

Phil nodded as he closed the door after Max, Ben and Gwen have all entered Phil's office.

In the office.

"Ever since you defeated Vilgax both you and the plumbers just gave up. Max, we need the Plumbers now more than anything. Things are starting to pick back up." Phil said to Max.

"I am sure it is just temporary. And I also saw on the Internet that you are working as a freelance Plumber again. The world is safe knowing that you are here to protect it." Max said to Phil as he tries to avoid Phil's persuasion about the recreation of the Plumbers.

"No, Max. We need the Plumbers now more than anything. Kevin Levin. Animo. Zombozo. Didn't you see multiple aliens running around the state on the news? The world is not safe Max. Although we may have defeated him you know that Vilgax is still out there. Since you have seen my business why don't we join forces and recreate the Earth branch of Plumbers again? If a legendary Plumber like you joined me I am sure we can recapture our glory back in no time." Phil said to Max.

"Sorry about that Phil. But I have already retired. It's just that I need a null-void projector since there have been a couple of threats that started to appear now and then." Max said to Phil.

"Yeah ever since Ben got that stupid...hmmm." before Gwen could say something, Ben blocked her mouth with his hand.

"What is the big deal doofus?" Gwen said to Ben after she forcefully removed his hand that was previously on her mouth.

Ben didn't say anything back. He just shakes his head signalling that some things are better left unspoken.

Phil also seems to notice the strange behaviour of the two young children. Especially Ben who was equipped with the Omnitrix in his hand.

"Since you are here why don't you stay over for a night?" Phil said to Max.

"Well, we are already pretty much behind our schedule. We are just coming to see if you have the null-void projector since mount rushmore is still a little further away from here." Max said to Phil.

"Well. I have a few lying around. How much do you need?" Phil asked Max.

"Just one," Max replied.

"Well, I will lead you to my armoury. You can also pick up a few Plumbers techs if you want. Free of charge." Phil said to Max.

"Thanks, Phil," Max said to Phil.

"It is me or does Granpa Max being cautious of Phil," Ben whispered to Gwen.

"It seems that way," Gwen replied.

"It is really strange that Grandpa Max is not fully trusting someone." Gwen continued.
