League Member?

As the six other founding members touched down on the now dry floor, Aquaman walked over to join them. Ben stayed where he was, spear now facing the floor.

"Well that was impressive Omni," Superman said, "You were only hit once in the beginning and managed to get in some good shots."

"What distracted you guys after the initial clash?" Flash asked.

"Do you want to tell them, Omni?" Aquaman asked.

Ben wasn't sure if the answer would be received badly but he knew that he had to be truthful.

"Well, when I shook hands with him before the test," Ben nodded towards the Atlantean, "My omnitrix automatically collected his DNA and I used it in the fight."

"But he's only a human subspecies. So new DNA doesn't need to be completely non-human?" Batman pondered, hand holding his chin.

"Truthfully, to my knowledge, my Earth doesn't have any subspecies of us so I never knew it could do it. And while this is brought up, it also got your DNA," Ben said to Superman.

"Hm, I honestly don't know how to feel about that," he responded.

"Well, think about it like this," Flash cut in, "if Omni does join us, that just means we have another major powerhouse that will be super useful," He turned to Ben, "not that we'd just be using you, I mean."

"I get it man," Ben chuckled.

"Let me just say this," He started, "on my Earth, it's rare for people to have super powers and the ones that do are mostly half alien. I may be in my 30s but this is my first time seeing a superhero central world with its own protection squad. If you allow me to join, I will put my blood, sweat and tears into helping you and I'm a hero at heart so I'd be acting hero anyway. This would just allow me to help more effectively and let me learn more about this universe."

Ben didn't realize that Wonder Woman wrapped her lasso of truth around his ankle when he looked at Superman, which led to this rant. Before Omni continued, she undid it which caught his attention and he looked up confused.

"It's called the lasso of truth," She said, "it has the power to make people say what's on their mind and it's great for interrogations."

Ben blinked before nodding.

"That's cool."

"And that concludes your mental test," Martian Manhunter said.

"What? That's it?" Ben was bewildered.

"Yes," he replied, "for some reason, recruits always think it's going to be simulated torture or something to that degree."

"So we just use my lasso. It's quick and easy to find out if people will be loyal and put their hearts into their work," said Wonder Woman.

"So, did I pass?" Ben asked.

"We'll have to talk about it privately but it's looking good, lad," Aquaman replied.

Inside the founding members' conference room, the seven heroes were talking over Omni's recruitment.

Ben was sitting on a couch outside, talking with Trix.

"Are you sure you do not want me to listen in on their conversation, Mr. Tennyson?" Trix asked.

"Ha, I'm sure. I don't want to invade their privacy and keep secrets from them aside from my identity, and I don't even care if they find that out. Barry and Cisco already know," Ben sighed.

"Twenty-two years of being a hero and I come across this amazing opportunity to explore a whole other universe that's far from our own," He said to Trix, "I don't want to do anything that might ruin that. I think I'm already on thin ice for the DNA thing despite what Barry and Aquaman said."

Before Trix could respond, the doors opened to reveal Barry with a smile on his face.

"You got in!" he said.

"Really? What about the whole taking DNA thing?" Ben asked.

"Aqua and I were able to convince them with the advantages of it. Superman came around quite quickly actually. I think he's content because if we're away, you'd be here to fill some of the gap with the other members."

"What now?" Ben asked.

"Now, I'm going to get you a tour guide to show you around here and Central City if you're up for it. Then they can either get you situated with a room here or show you open properties."

"I don't have any money and won't it look weird if two heroes go touring in the middle of the day in the city?"

"Oh yeah, forgot to mention," Barry facepalmed, "secret identities are optional here so anyone who doesn't want to disguise themselves doesn't have to. You mentioned earlier that you didn't mind it so I thought you would actually be fine."

"And everyone here is trustworthy?"

"Yep, it's an unspoken and spoken rule," Barry said.

"That doesn't really make sense."

"Perhaps," laughed the speedster, "anyway, I'm going to call someone for you."

"You can't yourself?"

"I would love to but us founding members have to go to a parade in a few hours. We're there to be honored and to watch over everyone."

"Congratulations," Ben clapped Barry's shoulder.

"Thank you."

Barry took out a small communicator and contacted Ben's guide.

A few minutes later, a black-haired woman walked through the door wearing what looked to be a sexy magicians outfit. She had a short tux style jacket over a tight white shirt and had black knee height high heeled boots over fishnets. To complete the magic look, a small top hat sat on her head.

"So you want me to show around a newbie?" her cyan eyes analyzing Omni's appearance.

"Hello to you too Zatanna," Flash remarked, "and yes, I want you to guide Omni here around base and Central City if you're up for it."

"Fine," She looked at Omni, "Follow me," she said, turning around without waiting.

"Don't take it personally," Barry nudged Ben, "She just went through a breakup a few days ago," he whispered.

"No offense taken. I've dealt with the same thing," he replied before jogging to catch up with Zatanna before she walked out of the door.
