God of Transformation

When looking upon the new arrivals transformation and hearing his words, Darkseid couldn't avoid a chill traveling down his spine.

"What are you?" He asked.

"A New God," Ben replied with a sly grin.

Before Darkseid could reply, Ben's giant form shifted into that of his opponent, now a perfect copy of Darkseid.

"What is this trickery?" The original giant asked, bewildered.

"It seems I'm the god of transformation," The copy laughed and shook his head.

"How is this possi-," Darkseid was cut off as a fist resembling his own punched him in the face, causing him to stumble backwards.

"That's more like it," Ben exclaimed as he followed up with an uppercut which Darkseid barely deflected.

The original New God growled and sent his omega beams toward Ben's head, which he responded with his own version. They charged with black and white energy before turning emerald green as they were released to counter the red beams. The rays of energy danced around each other, neither seeming to gain an advantage over the other.

Once the fight between the two started, Zatanna quickly flew to the crater where Superman and Wonder Woman lay and used her magic to heal them. She managed to fix Superman's eyes and revitalized both heroes.

"What's the situation?" The Amazon asked as she and the Kryptonian stood.

"Omni's managing to keep Darkseid at bay and might win," Zatanna explained, "But he turned into a New God and resembles Darkseid, but he has green beams."

Superman and Wonder Woman shared a glance before both jumped out of the crater to confirm what they heard and gasped at the sight in front of them.

Two Darkseids were firing omega beams at each other, one red and the other, green. The one firing green beams ran forward, keeping the beams active, and sent a punch towards the original. The two traded blows and seemed evenly matched. Omni's form shifted from Darkseids copy to his seemingly human form, wearing his battle suit with helmet on.

The heroes watching the fight assumed that Omni transformed back to his regular form but those thoughts were thrown once green beams of energy suddenly shot out of the helmet, striking Darkseid's shoulder and leaving two holes.

*This is more like it,* Ben thought as he transformed back into a Kryptonian but not through the omnitrix.

Still in his New God form, he realized he could shift into his repertoire of aliens using this form, giving his transformations massive power boosts and additional features.

It reminded him of his ultimate forms but he made note that these upgraded transformations didn't have to go through simulations.

Ben's thoughts were interrupted by Darkseid running towards him. Ben shifted from Kryptonian to Diamondhead. With the new way of transformation, Diamondhead's previously bluish crystal form was now a dark red with green veins covering him. Instead of the omnitrix symbol being present as a protruding disk, like with all transformations, the hourglass symbol formed as a massive pattern on the suit he was wearing.

The new Diamondhead charged towards Darkseid and before they would clash, Ben sunk into the ground and disappeared, a red crystal patch covering the spot he disappeared from.

As Darkseid and the rest of the heroes were confused, the giant's feet were suddenly covered in red crystal and it was quickly creeping up his body, keeping him from moving.

"How do you like them apples?" A gruff voice asked sarcastically from behind the half crystalized giant.

"You think you can hold me?" Darkseid chuckled and swung his fists down towards his crystal covered half, intending to break it.

Not allowing that to happen, Diamondhead made long spikes protrude from the crystalized legs. From his angle, Darkseid didn't notice them until they were sticking through his hands and arms, drenching them in his blood.

"Aaagghh!" The New God roared, "You will pay for this!"

"I don't think I will," Diamondhead said as he circled to Darkseid's front, where he was trying to take his arms off the spikes, but they formed thorns that stuck into the inside of his arms, keeping him from removing them. Not to risk it, the exposed parts of the spikes from Darkseid's skin grew and attached to the creeping growth of crystal, completely covering his arms. The crystal continued until it reached the base of Darkseid's neck, leaving his head the only moving part of his body.

Ben used the omnitrix to turn back into his original human form with his suit and before he could say anything else to the trapped giant, Zatanna jumped onto him from behind and wrapped her legs around his waist.

"You were amazing!" The magician exclaimed.

Ben made the bottom half of his visor disappear and swung Zatanna around to face him, giving her a kiss.

"Thanks sweetie," He said with a smile, "So this is Darkseid?" He nodded towards the giant he fought.

"Yes," Zatanna replied, jumping off him but taking his hand in hers, "Though this is just his avatar. His true form is in a different dimension."

"It's weird that he hasn't disappeared yet," Batman seemed to come from nowhere next to them.

"It's probably the new energy in Diamonhead's crystals that's keeping him here," Ben speculated.

"Diamondhead?" Batman asked.

"The name I gave the transformation I used to trap Darkseid, though he doesn't usually look like that," Ben started, "When I transformed into a New God, I became the god of transformation, and it gave upgrades to my aliens."

"Agh," Darkseid groaned as he tried freeing himself, to no success.

"How long will it hold?" The dark knight asked.

"The energy in the crystals will dissipate in a few days so if you want to question him or anything, I'd recommend doing it ASAP," Ben replied.

Nodding, Batman sent a telepathic message to the Martian Manhunter at HQ and the trapped Darkseid disappeared as he was teleported by the HQ's teleporters to an undisclosed location.

"Thank you for this, Omni," Superman walked over to the three, "Do you want to help us interrogate him?"

"Thanks for the offer but I need to have a conversation with Zatanna before I do anything else," Omni replied.

Batman gave the couple an unreadable expression before leaving. Superman and the other heroes said their thanks before quickly leaving to deal with other problems around the world and universe.

"What's with Batman giving us the weird looks," Ben asked after he and Zatanna changed out of their hero gear and now strolled Metropolis, "I asked for you earlier yesterday and he gave me a similar look."

Zatanna's smile faltered.

"He's the mentor of my ex," She said.

"Oh, well, I guess I could see how that would make our meetings awkward," Ben shrugged, not really interested in continuing that conversation.

"Anyway," Zatanna said, "I don't think this was the conversation you really wanted so, what's up?"
