Myream was a fantastical paradise. Magic was abundant, the deities worked to protect their subjects and the mortal plane, while various creatures roamed the lands. Typical to every other world, this one... was a wonderful and unique existence. And just like any, that beauty would not last forever.
The cause of Myream's end was not well-known, but the results were obvious. On the mortal plane, everything turned to chaos. The start of the end began with the destruction of the deities and their home, the celestial realm.
When the Lord of the Seas, Deity of Water, Alei dissolved into nothing... the eternal drought arrived.
When the Flame-Master, Deity of Fire, Zelyn became ashes in the wind... the seasons halt and winter persists.
When the Protector of Life, Deity of Fertility, Carola died...
That which is alive must prepare for death, to create a new life.
The destruction of the celestial realm caused the natural laws governing Myream to fall into disorder, leaving the mortal plane as a place worse than the depths of the underworld. Ironically, the gates of the underworld have also reversed. Thus, the chaos and fear also spread to the underworld denizens who could now fear falling into the mortal plane.
The day when the celestial realm crumbled became known as the start of the Apocalypse.
But none of these matters to the person living through this story.
Amidst all the chaos, he was born with the death of his entire kin. When it comes to survival, nothing else matters. But to every other creature alive in Myream?
As the first newborn of this new era?
As the last of his bloodline?
When even survival is a struggle no deity has accomplished, can he continue to exist?
