"Joyce," Declan whispered, "don't —"

"All of you can leave us alone."

Joyce did not look away from her sister's body on the ground, until she was taken out of sight by the two men.

When Adrian was sure that no one was around them, he turned around and kneeled in front of her.

Her husband, one of the most powerful men in the world, kneeled in front of her.

"My Joy," his eyes and face soft, and unlike what they had been since they had been in this building,

"You asked me and I gave you what you wanted. I killed them for you, so none of them are coming back and I want you to understand that. None of them were breathing when they were taken out of here. None of them are going to come back from the cold grave that I am going to put them in. They're going to be under unmarked soil because they don't want to ever find them."

She closed her eyes and lowered her head just as the sobs left her.
