1 Erui.

BAM!

My body smacks onto the bins down below as I throw myself out the window.

"Shitshitshitshit! W-why can't I kill this guy?!"

My legs shake as I pull myself off the ground, I don't get far before I hear heavy footsteps behind me. Without a second I whip my body around and shoot two rounds into the large man who just doesn't seem the SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!

"What are you made of? What sort of Santa Claus are you?!"

Sliding around the corner I run back into the abandoned warehouse hoping to catch the freaky bastard. I jump towards the ladder as I pull myself up wrapping my leg around the pole to flip my body onto the upper deck, I grip the rope ready to fling the fat man into the air. Just have to wait until the perfect moment, wait...wait...NOW! I pull with all my strength as the chains lift with the creature inside of them. He lets out a loud wail as I watch his skin bubble and burn.

"It hurts doesn't it? you're a new born, so you don't even know what you've gotten yourself into. These are pure iron chains with salt imbedded into them, this shit is like acid to you guys; gut wrenching pain with every slight move. But you're not the real saint, so why should I care?"

BANG!

The warehouse echos as I watch the beast twitch and soon, explode. Little flakes of ash slowly descend to the ground as I lower my gun.

"Jeez, no matter how many times I do this I just can't get used to it."

Another job done, might as well celebrate.

Time skip~

Making my way down the busy street I watch as the many unsuspecting people enjoy their night, laughing with friends, falling in love, just living their lives without a care in the world. If only they knew, if only they knew about the monsters that lurk in the dark, the monsters they create.

"Erui!"

Huh? I turn my head to see Milo, I guess you would call him my friend, but with my line of work having any sort of relationships can be dangerous.

"Hey Milo, what's up?"

"What's up?! What's up?! I've been calling you, do you ever check your phone?" Milo angrily yells as he walks towards me,

I pull my phone out of my pocket and see the abundance of texts and calls, confused I look up to him.

"Okay, I'm here now so can you tell me what's so important?" I laugh as I say.

"So I'm in the White Hill bar right, and this hot blonde walks up to me, she says hello and I'm like hell yeah imma get some action tonight boys!... But! You know what she says? Where's Erui? WHERE'S ERUI?! What the hell man how come even when you're not with me you still get all the chicks!" Milo lightly punches me in the chest while frowning.

"Ahaha sorry man, guess she wasn't the right one for you. Did she say why she wanted me?" I ask whilst carefully looking around us, Nothing wrong with being safe.

"Nah but it's obvious why she would want you right? Or have you done something?"

"Aha no I hav-"

"OMG did you knock someone up?!"

"No I didn't-"

"You sure?! I mean I can understand if you did, accidents happen.

"NO I HAVEN'T KNOCKED ANYONE UP!"

Complete silence followed as people around us stoped to stare and giggle at my sudden outburst.

"Fucking hell Milo now look what you've done" I lay my head in my hands out of frustration as I sigh.

Milo cracks up in front of me, clutching his stomach as tears begin to form in his eyes.

"Yeah. HAHA. Very funny." I sigh for the second time as I watch him laugh.

Milo throws his arm around my shoulders as he steadies himself, wiping away his tears he pats me on the back,

"Well then now that that's cleared up how about we go have some fun?" Milo smiles whilst occasionally laughing in between his words.

"Yeah yeah, sure let's go." I roll my eyes and we begin to walk. Anyway I deserve a drink tonight, if only I could talk about it. But even with Milo. I can't risk it. I can't.

Do you think that if you believe in something or someone so strongly it would become reality?

Well truth be told, it does, here in this small town, the unrealistic will become reality, whether you truly want it to. Or not.

But it isn't as you think, it's not like if a child's innocent mind believing in Santa Claus would magically make a jolly fat man give him presents on Christmas, oh no, there's a catch. A catch that no one knows. No one, but people in my profession.

Believing in something can be a powerful thing, more powerful than others think. It can also be a difficult thing to deal with, especially for people like me. Who am I you ask? Well of course I'm the one who knows, one of the people around the world who knows the dangers of the catch; trust me, my job is a difficult one especially when everyone, has their own beliefs.

Who am I? My name is Erui and I, kill monsters.
