36 Ambush?

Reenste looked at the papers and she figured out this are list and reports of expenses that needs to be audited. She read through all of it in less than 10 minutes and thought to herself.

"This is it?" She asked to herself. Bewildered that they gave her a week for something so... simple.

"If this is all of it, I guess I can do the calculation and reports in the carriage."

Reenste looks at the papers once more and then neatly put it away.

"I guess I should prepare early so I can go there way earlier. I don't want that incident on the banquet to be repeated again. Thinking about it makes me shiver." Reenste said to herself and went ahead to her bathroom.

30 minutes have passed and Reenste already prepared. She got all dressed up, but her hair was still wet as usual and just a light make up on. As Ava did request for her to have some make up due to her looking pale. Reenste did agree to the request as she herself see that she looked sickly. It has been a week now that she secluded herself in her room.

"Well, let's go. Let's depart early. I don't want to be late again." Reenste said as she board the carriage.

" Rory, make sure to get there in 20 minutes, okay?" Reenste said through the window.

"But my Lady. We have plenty of time---" Rory was shocked when he questioned her lady's command.

"I know, it's just I feel like we better arrive than way early." Reenste said and smiled to Rory.

Rory just nodded and then hit the reigns and the horses started moving.

Ava and Eva looked at their lady as she writes down on the paper. There is lots of numbers and things that they don't understand in it but their Lady seems to do not mind it and just write it as it is.

"My Lady, shouldn't it be better if you had wrote it at the library back at the Shen Courtyard? " Ava with her forehead knotted. Eva then nodded her head in agreement. Reenste look at the papers once more and decided the everything is correct and in order. She then looked at the twin with a confident smile on her face.

"I'm used to this already. Back then when I was working at--" Reenste cut herself short as she realizes the words she's about to say. Surely the twin would not understand how she acquired knowledge and experience on things like this in this time period. With Reenste suddenly stopped talking the twin began to be worried.

"Are you okay, my lady? Maybe you're unwell due to the past days you have not eaten well." Eva looking at Reenste with panic and concern in her eyes same with Ava who seemingly afraid that her Lady would get sick. Reenste raised her hands and pat the two girls on their head to reassure the twin.

"Come on girls, I am fine."

As Reenste said that, the carriage abruptly stopped causing for them to almost fall off the sit and hit their head to the walls. Fortunately, Reenste was swift to catch the two girls and have their head covered while Reenste try to stabilize her own balance to avoid them completely falling.

"Rory what happened? Are you guys alright?" Reenste shouted full of concern waiting for a response. The twin looked at each other and their Lady. A couple of seconds passed by and no response heard. This escalate the worry, Reenste have. She quickly set the girls aside gently and opened the door.

"You guys stay here." Reenste little by little opened the door.

"My lady there is---"
