Inventions and Experiments

In Kuishinbō Tavern there was peaceful and quiet with the sun rising and its beautiful rays going through the windows. *THUD!* Well that hurt, I rubbed my head in a attempt to sooth the hit on my head I just received. Where did I go wrong I wondered as I layed down on the floor in confusion.

What just happen was I seemed to have somehow fallen out of my new hammock when I was sleeping. I now realize it may have been a good idea to put some cushions under it. The reason I even have a hammock in the first place was because I simply wanted to try something new.

I had a epiphany, I have brought to this world with basically the power to do or make anything I want, so why not try new things. I always wanted to sleep in a hammock before so now I have. I think I will sleep on it for a few nights till I get the 'hang' of it… I should stop while I'm ahead or maybe I could get a telling joke skill.

Anyway, while I was preoccupied with my thoughts I realized I had slept with my cat, I hope I didn't squish her. Before I could panic any further I heard a meow and turned my head while still laying on the floor. She was staring at me with a sideways head probably stupefied by how I fell out of it. Then she walked up to me and rubbed herself on my head after that she climbed up onto my chest and sat down and looked like she was triumphant over her prey.

With that cute little display out of the way I sat back up and walked down stairs to wait for customers. After Taida's party came I have yet to have the big burst of customers as I thought. It's fine I suppose as I get to sleep longer which is always refreshing.

I have finally figured out how to get some much needed sleep along with not loosing customers while doing so. I have made a alarm clock look alike, it isn't the best looking one but it gets the job done. I even add some magic using my skill which easily has solved this troublesome problem. I set up magic that senses intruders so that when someone steps into my tavern it activates my alarm clock, waking me up.

It is very useful and has saved me from going mad from lack of sleep. When making it I was a little worried as when trying to speak it into words for my cheat skill to make. In the back of my mind I thought it would misinterpret my words and make some sort of horrible torture device.

It must have some sort of filter though because it made the device just the way I wanted it. It looked exactly like I wanted it too with it being a wooden box with cards that change to the time. It made it a little too perfectly, did it read my mind?

When I got down stairs I made myself some breakfast which was some eggs with a steak. Even before coming to this world I absolutely love steak, I don't care for how it's cooked I will eat it. maybe becoming a cat person increased my love of meat but that doesn't change how I love meat.

After my uneventful breakfast I got back to the watch for customers which is quite boring. I should make a game for me and others to play so I can pass the time while at the same time keeping my future customers entertained.

I could make a lot of game I could make a chess board, that may not be a good idea as I didn't think anyone that would come in here would be smart enough to learn or play. I need a game that's fun and easy to learn. I remember most bars in my old world had a pool table which would be a perfect game to have.

With my idea in mind I use my cheat skill to make a old fashioned looking pool table. If I made it look too new it would attract unwanted attention. Then I moved it to the side really to be used. I'm sure in classic manga style I'll be the first person to make one, then it will become very popular. In the end it will even go to royalty and eventually to the king making friends with him and with me being a millionaire.

That is exactly why I don't want to bring futuristic or new things into this world. It wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing but I want to live freely for now. In my old world I would have never passed up the chance to make money but now that I am living such a peaceful and fun life I don't need to worry about it too much. I still want to have a adventure of course but who doesn't love to have rest and relaxation.

I waited a hour and still no one has come inside which is unfortunate. I probably shouldn't have relied on other people to spread the word of my establishment. It's not like I don't think they can but I think it will take a while for them to tell people.

I decided I should advise more outside the store and make it look more customer friendly. The inside is just fine however it's the outside I'm worried about. If I had to describe it the outside looks like a wooden box with two windows with a bland sign. I planned to make it look better but that was when I found my cat.

I waited till night as someone would see me using my cheat skill otherwise. Speaking of night, not only did I have no day customers but Korosu and his crew have been visiting less and less. Not to long ago they used to come every night but now they only come four times a week. I think it's that they think it's getting too dangerous to come now that I'm getting customers or they are doing some big job.

Either way they'll be ok, now onto the task at hand. I need to make it more presentable which is pretty easy. I also have decided to make my cat the mascot of the tavern which works perfectly for me. I also am going to try a different way of using my skill as a experiment. So far I have only said it out loud or in my head so I want to see if by picture in it in my mind it will make it. This will finally put a end to whether or not it can read my mind when I don't want it to listen.

I began the experiment by using my skill and only thinking what it would look like which took a while as I kept changing my mind on what it should look like. I had to really focus an I even closed my eyes to help. After finally making a solid picture of what it should look in my head I held it in my head for a few seconds and finally I opened my eyes.

It was absolutely perfect, exactly as I thought it. It was no longer a shabby looking box but a fine wooden tavern which was inviting and comforting. It was now well lit with flowers under the windows and a big sign with the name of the tavern and a cat laying on top of the words. The new and approved tavern almost looks as if it sucked up all the colors around it making it even more grand.

I'm so blown away by how good it looks that I don't care that I am being spied on by my own skill. Now that I am finished I quickly went inside so I won't be exposed to any people, after all what would you think if you saw a stranger just standing in a alleyway late in the night in front of a nice looking establishment? I would think they would rob it and would immediately call the city guard.

Dispute it being past midnight it's still semi populated by a few random residents. I have no idea who they are or why they are still walking around this late at night but I'm not sure if I want to know. I could be a hero and follow one of them but I'm too tired I might try tomorrow night.

I finally went inside and went to my bedroom with Razuri ready to end this mostly uneventful day. I'm sure people will come here tomorrow especially now that I made the front look better. I then tried to get back in the hammock and got flipped on the floor. I tried to get back on a few more times but after literally a hour of trying to tame it I gave up and slept on the floor. I could have just slept on the bed but I don't feel like I deserve to.

With that I fell asleep ready to finally get customers tomorrow.
