35 Wanting to choke her

"What is it?"

The man who was sitting on the swivel chair, spoke as his eyes were focused on the outside of huge glass window. He was back facing the door and talking to someone through the phone. "Sir Kylo, it is about the man who stalked Miss Mara Athena.."

The man's voice was heard from the other side of the phone. Kylo furrowed his brows, wanting to know who that stalker was. "Did you find out?" he questioned and leaned back on the chair as he shut his eyes. "Yes, he is working for Ezekial Clyde"

It was the moment Kylo raised his eyebrow and frowned tightly. Ezekial Clyde? The CEO of 'Jole' company? Why was he stalking the young woman? What was the relationship between Mara Athena and Ezekial Clyde?

Why would a cold ice cube man stalk the young woman named Mara Athena? Didn't that man say he was not interested in relationships and hated women? Then why was he stalking the young woman? Kylo squeezed his eyes, his day was full with thoughts of Mara Athena.

"Ezekial Clyde" Kylo murmured as he opened his eyes. "I understand" he hung up the phone quickly and stared outside of the huge glass window. Slowly and slowly, the thought of Mara Athena smiling at Ezekial Clyde popped up in his head.

What if Mara Athena was dating Ezekial Clyde secretly? Since Ezekial was strong and rich enough to clean the background, he could be covering about the relationship with the young woman. No way, how did the young woman get that ice cube's attention?

How did they know each other? They had never met before nor made contact if Kylo was right. It was like living in two different worlds, Ezekial and Mara never made interaction. So why was Ezekial stalking the young woman now? The more Kylo thought, the more he became upset.

Just a thought of Mara talking with Ezekial made Kylo gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Mara Athena.." Kylo murmured and let out a loud sigh. He stood up from the swivel chair and went into the bathroom. He was on his way to wash his face.

To wash away the thoughts about Mara Athena. He just wanted to stop thinking about that young woman. Things were getting worse. He began to dream about Mara Athena. The way she interrupted into his dreams with a smile always make him awake in the middle of the night.

"Good morning, Miss!!"

Lila's energetic voice made the young woman who just walked into the dining room, flinched. Mara looked at the girl with furrowed eyebrows as she pressed her hand on her chest. "You scared me, Lila!!" The young woman shouted and frowned.

"I-I apologize, Miss" Lila began to sweat due to the fear of making the young woman upset. She quickly apologized with a big smile. "You should be my alarm instead. I would wake up immediately if you shout that loud beside me in the early morning" Mara spoke as she sat down at the host seat.

"I can become your alarm if you want me to, Miss" Lila grinned, taking the words seriously. Lily chuckled at her sister and shook her head in amusement. She put down the glass of milk in front of the young woman. "I was joking!" Lila gasped in understatement.

She scratched the back of her head with an awkward smile and nodded. Both Mara and Lily chuckled at the girl's cuteness. "Have you fed my baby?" Mara questioned as she took a sip of the milk. "Yes! He ate well, Miss. He is playing in the living room right now" Lila answered.

The young woman nodded in understatement. "Oh by the way, did you get what I ordered yesterday?" Mara raised her eyebrow and looked up at Lily, making Lila furrowed her brows in confusion. Lily nodded. "Please wait for awhile" she spoke and went out of the dining room.

Leaving Lila in daze.

"What is going on?" Poor Lila questioned with a frown, asking for an explanation from the young woman. "I just asked Lily to inform me about Juliet Horper's daily routine" Mara explained as she swallowed the food. It was when Lila finally nodded in understatement.

"I thought Lily already told you" Mara furrowed her brows and said. Lila shook her head. "She haven't" "I just forgot to tell you, sorry" Lily's voice interrupted the two as she walked into the dining room with the file folder in her hand.

"It is fine" Lila shrugged, not feeling anything. "There are photos of places where and what she does in a day yesterday. I only know what she does in the afternoon and evening. She does not go outside in the morning"

Lily explained and handed the file to the young woman. Mara nodded in understatement. She opened the file folder as her eyes met the photo of the woman hugging the man shamelessly. The young woman raised her eyebrow.

Juliet Horper was a player, she always seduce the men with her beautiful face which did not match her age. "Jewelry shop?" She furrowed her eyebrows as her eyes were staring at the photo of Juliet Horper walking in and out of the jewelry shop.

"People say she always comes to the shop. She goes there every night" Lily spoke with a stone face while Lila listened carefully in silence. "Find out about the reason why she goes every night" Mara said and shut the file folder. "I understand"

Lily took the file back from the young woman. She just stalked Juliet Horper for all day like an easy matter. She never felt tired while stalking the woman because it was her job to do as her Miss said since she was the assistant of the young woman.

"Great, Lily. You never disappoint me"

Mara's words made Lily grin. "Thanks, Miss" Lily smiled as Lila suddenly clapped. Making the two young women looked at her in confusion. "I am praising Lily while clapping" Lila spoke innocently while the two young women laughed out loud in amusement.

"You have arrived" the taxi driver said as the young woman in grey colored pants and white strapped crop top took out the money from her purse. She thanked the man and went out of the car. Since the weather was chilly, she decided to wear a huge blazer.

Mara quickly stepped into the company as the employees greeted with smiles. "Hello" The young woman said to the man who was waiting for the elevator. His aurora green eyes fell onto Mara who was smiling at him while standing beside him. "Hello"

He dryly greeted back. There was no smile on his face, not even a fake smile. But his expressionless face did not annoy the young woman. She was used to his expressionless face. "Can you ask for a meeting with the CEO of 'Max' company?"

The young woman suddenly spoke, her words made the man gulped. The 'Max' company was his company and he was the CEO. How could he let the young woman find out the truth? Kylo did not respond, he was thinking how to reply quietly.

Mara's lips curved up into a playful smirk, feeling satisfied with the situation. Ofc, she knew the fact that Kylo was the CEO of 'Max' company. She did not say those words just to tease the man. She just wanted to talk with 'Max' company for the collaboration.

The contract between 'Reece' company and 'Sun' company was going to end in next two months due to the 'Sun' company's situation. Noah Flynn only signed the contract for three months because he had another contract with other company.

And 'Max' company was going to be more successful in business world along with 'Jole' company in the future. It was like signing the contract with the company which was going to gain more success. Her company could earn more success and fame from that.

"Why do you want to meet with him?"

Kylo asked as the elevator door opened. Mara stepped into the elevator with a smile while Kylo lowered his head with a stone face. "I want to make a collaboration with 'Max' company since Uncle Noah only signed the contract for three months"

Mara explained as she stood in front of the man, looking at the reflection of the man's confused face from the elevator door. Her lips formed into a smile. "I don't think they will accept it. It is really hard to meet the CEO of 'Max' company" Kylo replied.

He never looked up at the young woman, his eyes were on the floor, avoiding eye contact with the young woman. "Is that so? But what if they accept my request? It is not like you can see the future, right?" Mara questioned with a smile, causing the man to gritted his teeth.

Why was the young woman talking as if she could see the future? "No one has seen the CEO of 'Max' company. He is unknown and never accept the offer from others. So it is really hard to meet him" Kylo spoke as he gulped, lying without tripping.

"Is that so? But why am I feeling like you are hiding something from me? I mean you are avoiding the eye contact so obviously" Mara said and raised her eyebrow. She turned her head to look at the man, there was a smile on her face. Kylo gulped.

The man quickly looked up at the young woman who was smiling at him as if she knew everything about him. Their eyes locked as both of them did not blink even just for once. "I am not hiding anything" Kylo responded while staring into the young woman's eyes.

He was showing his stone face. His calm face did not match his heart which was racing loudly due to anxiety. Mara raised her eyebrow when the man stared into her eyes deeply as if he was not lying. She chuckled in amusement and turned around.

"Relax, I was joking.... or maybe not"

The elevator door opened as the young woman stepped out of it, leaving the man in daze. She opened the office door and stepped into the office without looking back at the man. There was a smile on her face, feeling satisfied with the man's calm face as if he was not panicking.

Kylo went out of the elevator with quick steps, his eyes were on the young woman who walked into the office. He furrowed his brows in confusion. His brain was working really hard, trying to figure out why the young woman spoke with hidden meanings.

What did the young woman mean? Did she mean she knew everything? Did she just say she was not that dumb like he thought? Was she smiling like that because she already knew his plan? Or maybe she was messing around with him?

Kylo squeezed his eyes, wanting to choke the young woman and force her to say the truth. But ofc, he could not do like that. Sometimes, he wished he could just force the young woman to tell the meaning of her playful smile. "Mara Athena.."

He murmured furiously and walked into his office. There was a tightened frown on his face, showing displeasement and annoyance. If someone saw Kylo, they would run away from him quickly. Because they could feel the dangerous aura from the man.
