108 New job

I was squatting on the floor and using a stick to write on the floor I was thinking about how I could make money. So far there were several paths that I could take. I had listened them down on the floor.

1. Extortion. (It didn't seem like a bad idea but there could be gangs that I did not know about and just a headache for myself)

2. Theft. (Another great option, I just didn't know who to rob or what to rob.)

3. Begging. (Fuck no, this was out of question.)

4. Turning tricks. (Didn't seem like a bad idea but I just don't want to do it.

Finally I had to choose an option and I chose... Option 5. Get a job.

"And that is why i think that I could be a really great fit for this job." I said with a smile to lady who stared at me like she had witnessed first hand Michael Jackson turning white.

"This is a simple dishwasher job..."

"I am aware of that."

"Then why are you telling me that you can throw a ninja star from 2 kilometres away and still hit your target."

"You asked me what my strengths were. Think of this... someone just ate and then instead of coming to pay they run out of the front of door. PSSSHHK! THUD! That's the sound of the ninja star flying through the air and them falling to the floor. If you don't believe me I can show you..." I said as I pulled several ninja stars out if my pockets. I had looted the corpses of the merchants. Surprisingly when I did there was no pouches of money, just their weapons.

"That is not needed." She said. "We prefer to chase them down and tackle them. It's pretty fun." She winked at me and I smiled. "Is there anything else that your good at?"

I thought for a while. "I would say I'm a pretty decent cook."

She extended her hand and shook mine. "Your hired. Pretty decent is better than shit cook no?" She asked me.

"Yes."

We discussed small details such as pay and working hours. I was told to arrive hours later.

In the meantime I decided to headed to the local library and started reading books. I mostly read books on medicine and diseases and the likes until I was satisfied.

I reported in for work and did my job before leaving as soon as I got my wages and it was time to go. I then went back to the library.

For at least two weeks this was my schedule Work, sleep , read and eat. It wasn't that bad of a schedule in my opinion but everyone thought that they were normal.

It was after 2 weeks of working hard when finally they had appeared. A huge group of men each carrying cutlass's, halberds, swords, spears and pointless weapons.

Leading the group was a fat man dressed with expensive clothing.

"I have been looking for you for a long time. You killed my merchants, their bodyguards and yet you walk around like nothing happened."

I raised my hands in a surrendering position. "I think you have the wrong person sir..." I said. Every single one of them was confused. They had probably been waiting for me to say something cool so that they could call me arrogant.

"I'm sure that you are mistaken... is what I would say!" I shouted as I punched the fat jolly man in the jaw. Several of his tooth flew out but before they did she quickly took care of everyone using a simple kick to the throat. I had made sure to check my strength so as to not kill them.

The fat jolly man fell on his knees. "Forgive me master." he shouted. I was about to hit him again but his words stopped me. I was surprised.

"Master, why did you call me master?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Because I am the sect leader and you have defeated me. As per the rules of Murim if a sect leader loses then the one who defeated them shall replace them as sect leader."

Ok now this was just lazy writing if I say so. It was like as if I was going to be a sect leader sooner or later and the universe just wanted it to happen soon. I questioned him for a while about his sect and found out a few things.

His clan was rather small with only 100 members not including the people that I had killed. They were all mostly merchants and traders and were able to turn a profit just enough to get them through the money but not enough that they could be considered a trading powerhouse.

They had several martial arts scrolls and even less martial artists. Aside from 20 or so people the rest of them were traders so they were not the strongest or close to being called strong.

The people who had been accompanying him were the all the martial artists in the sect. There was also another fighter who had been away travelling and was heading back home.

All in all it was a low level sect with weak warriors that was barely surviving.

"Do you have a library?" I asked.

"Yes we do. It's quite small but it has a lot of books on several different topics."

To be honest I did not want to be a sect leader of a small clan but it did have some benefits such as not going to work and a personal library. All of this was made possible by a single punch. I had forgotten about my luck skill but it seemed like every once in a while it took effect.

"What is your name?" I asked the man.

"Bulk"

"Ok Bulk, go ahead and lead me to the library." I ordered him. He bowed and lead me to the library.
