Chapter 28: In the Woods

Caleb was all man. Very good at this sex thing and sweet beyond belief. A girl could fall in love with him, but Melinda had to resist. A man was not part of her plan, but she knew this one could easily wiggle his way into her heart. Or storm his way. Then again, she thought she’d put that alpha male behavior in check. She had no need for someone to run her life.

Caleb nudged her. “Let me get rid of this thing,” he said.

She shifted off of him, reveling in being naked in the woods. Who would have thought she could enjoy this. She’d been a little buttoned-down with Carl, but he’d never brought out this wild side in her. Not the way Caleb did.

She wanted him in her life, just not in any serious capacity. She liked who she was when she was with him, but she couldn’t be this way and still be a good mother to Josh. He needed her stability. At least with Caleb she could let loose. Might make her a better mother when she was with Josh.
