CHAPTER SEVEN

Astrid couldn't make it for dinner later that night. Her monthly period would soon visit, so she had early cramps to show for it. Thelma had made herbal tea to help ease the pain.

.

Darius ate downstairs, worried. Astrid had not told him why she was in so much pain. He just knew her stomach ached, and that she could barely eat. He was considering going to bed early when his phone rang.

"What do you want?" He spoke into the phone immediately he picked it up.

"You know what I want." A young woman's voice spoke slowly and seductively to him.

"I really don't have time for this right now, Selene." He sighed tiredly.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a woman in your life that you were serious about? What's so special about this particular woman?" Her voice held anger, this time.

"Is that what this is about?" He asked.

"Of course, it is! You have no idea how ridiculous I feel right now. If you had marriage in mind all along, why didn't you just tell me? I would have agreed right away! You used me." She yelled.

"I did not use you. You can always come over, even now. But only when I say you should." He warned.

"Sure. Tonight?" She requested.

"I'm too tired for tonight." He told her.

"Since your fiancée couldn't, I can make it all disappear." She returned to her former sultry tone.

Darius knew that Selene would not let it go if he were to refuse. Hence, he decided to give in. "Sure. Come over now. I'll be asleep soon." He hung up and walked upstairs.

As Darius reached Astrid's room, he knocked. "Come in!" Astrid groaned out loud.

"Are you okay?" He asked, looking inside to see Astrid wrapped in a blanket.

"I'm getting better. Just something I ate." She half-lied. She was getting better, but it wasn't something she ate.

"Take care. I'll be going to bed." Darius closed the door and walked into his room, collapsing tiredly on the bed. Just as he was about to fall asleep, his door opened with Kyle, one of his bodyguards, holding Selene back.

Selene, a petite lady with light brown hair and large hazel eyes, was struggling in Kyle's hands. "Let go of me!" She screamed at him.

"I'm sorry, sir. Before I found her, she was already standing in front of your room." Kyle told Darius.

Darius dismissed Kyle with only a gesture of his hand. Selene let out a sigh, shaking her head. "You have to let these people know how to treat me, Darius." She stomped her foot on the floor.

Darius turned the other way and rolled his eyes before turning back to the woman who was barely wearing anything, leaving extremely little to the imagination. "Welcome." He faked a smile. He just wanted to get it over with.

"Where's the usual enthusiasm? Don't tell me you really feel something for that woman who got the ring now, Darius." She laughed, approaching him slowly as she swayed her hips to entice him. "Don't you want me anymore?" She lowered herself on his bed and smirked suggestively at him.

"Has she touched you the way that I do?" She asked, already frowning.

"Don't be like that right now, Selene. It's the last thing I need." He pulled her towards himself, wanting to forget about Astrid's face that had been stuck in his head.

"Why not? Why haven't you told her that you're not capable of being committed to one person?" Before he could disagree with her, she continued. "We both know you're not a one-woman person. I think she needs to know, too."

She took off the minimalistic outfit she was wearing, standing in all her naked glory. "All I wanted was to go to sleep. Then you came along disturbing my peace. For that, you'll have to do whatever I tell you. The first is shutting the hell up." He dragged her fully to his bed, flipping her over so that he was hovering above of her.

"I'm not protesting, baby." Selene replied. For the first time, Darius felt guilty and disappointed in himself for having a woman on his bed.

He walked around to the top of the bed, strapping Selene's hands on the headboard, so that she couldn't move. He opened his closet and took a whip out of it.

Starting from her neck, he slowly used the whip to draw invisible lines on her body. Selene sighed in satisfaction.

She then yelped out loud when she felt pain on her right thigh. She never been flogged by Darius. He had never been the type to actually use the whip on her. She knew, then, that she was in trouble.

Another slash came upon her leg. "Darius!" She screamed.

"Scream one more time, and I'll make it more painful than it already is." He threatened. The tone of his voice made her realize that he wasn't joking with her.

"Wait! You want to sleep, right? I'll leave! I swear, I'll leave right now." She cried out.

"You shouldn't have come in the first place." He said. She felt the whip come down on her once again, even more painful than before. Tears filled her eyes as the pain got too much to bear.

What was on Darius's mind was why this woman was even giving herself to him. He was a horrible person. Even his mother left him. Was it just because of her pleasure?

He let the whip fall to the floor and untied her, giving her the opportunity to leave. "Get out." He ordered.

"Fuck me, Darius." Selene told him. She still believed that he wanted her. She thought he was playing hard to get with her, even when the signs of exhaustion were there in him.

He turned his back to her and went over to the desk that had a bottle of alcohol. He poured himself a glass of bourbon. "Get out, Selene."

"No! I beg you, Darius. Please, do it." She still begged shamelessly. Darius's face relaxed and he shook his head. One thing he knew about her; she was not going down without a fight.

"Stand," he ordered. She stood up quickly. "Come here." He gestured at with his hand and she rushed to where he was, the strong desire showing in her movement.

Before they both knew it, there was a knock on the door. "Darius, are you in there?" Selene looked angry, while Darius looked shocked and scared. Why was Astrid looking for him now?
