Yue Guang

As Jun Wu Xiao was about to leave the cave to cultivate, suddenly, a person walked in. The newcomer was a girl wearing an old-fashioned white dress. She was incredibly beautiful, with sparkling purple eyes that resembled two amethysts, complemented by her long, jet-black hair. 

Jun Wu Xiao was momentarily stunned for two reasons. The first was the girl's beauty, but that wasn't the main reason. The second, and most important reason, was that he felt the girl before him was very strong, possibly the strongest person he had ever encountered, not as strong as him, but not far behind.

The girl, seeing a strange man appearing here, was also startled for a moment. She had been here for a few weeks but hadn't seen anyone else, so the sudden appearance of someone else left her a bit astonished. She quickly regained her composure and asked:

"Who are you? Why are you here?" 

At the same time, Jun Wu Xiao also said:

"Who are you? Why are you here?" 

The girl responded:

"I have been here for several weeks now, it is you who should be answering my question." 

Jun Wu Xiao was a bit taken aback by this. He had not expected that the place he thought was the hardest to discover would have someone else in it so soon after his arrival.

Nevertheless, he was curious about why there was a girl in this remote place where even monkeys and roosters rarely venture. He speculated that her purpose might be the same as him. 

"I just arrived here a while ago, not too long ago. No wonder I found the cave so clean, it turns out someone is living here." Jun Wu Xiao said.

The girl, hearing this, also became quite curious. She had sought out this place to peacefully engage in closed-door practice without disturbances. Yet, unexpectedly, someone came here within just a few weeks.

Then, looking around the cave, she noticed some burnt wood and a pile of leaves, deducing that he had made a fire. Furthermore, seeing the leftover dry wood and leaves, she thought he had no intention of leaving soon. This made her curious about why Jun Wu Xiao came here, so she asked:

"What are you doing here? From what I can see, there doesn't seem to be anything worth coming here for a human." 

Jun Wu Xiao after hearing this, he laughed and said:

"Ha ha, aren't you also a human?"

The girl understood that Jun Wu Xiao was teasing her rather than answering her question. She said:

"Hmph, so what if I am a person? I came here with my purpose. You answer my question first, then you can slowly ask later."

Jun Wu Xiao no longer joked with her, he realized they were quite similar. Their purposes for cultivation might differ, but they were both cultivators, not some fools who would come to such a place without reason.

"I came here in search of a quiet place to cultivate. After my breakthrough, my lifespan has significantly increased. If I continue to stay in populous areas, it would easily attract attention." Jun Wu Xiao explained.

Although she did not know what cultivation was, hearing about breakthroughs and increased lifespan made her realize he came here for the same reason as her. That reason was to find a place free from disturbances to practice. 

"I never thought I would meet someone who walks on a way that so similar to mine." she said. 

She mentioned "similar" because she wasn't sure how Jun Wu Xiao cultivated, nor did she know his ultimate purpose.

Jun Wu Xiao found it quite interesting to meet another cultivator. He laughed and said:

"Ha ha ha, there are very few cultivators in this world. Our meeting must be fate, how about we get to know each other first? My name is Jun Wu Xiao."

The girl nodded, also feeling that meeting another cultivator was rare.

"My name is Yue Guang. Can you tell me why you decided to cultivate?" she asked.

Yue Guang nodded and said:

Jun Wu Xiao did not wonder why she felt this way. After all, he himself had suddenly disliked his own weakness and chose to become stronger. He found Yue Guang quite interesting and asked:

"Would you agree to be my friend?" 

Yue Guang was startled for a moment, much like Jun Wu Xiao at first. She had no friends, not because she was antisocial, but because she chose to be that way. However, now she felt interested in Jun Wu Xiao and replied:

"Ok, you are my first friend."

Jun Wu Xiao was delighted to hear her agreement, he said:

"By the way, how long ago did you have your breakthrough? And how old are you?" he continued. 

Yue Guang immediately answered:

"I am twenty-five this year, and my breakthrough was not long ago. After the breakthrough, I immediately came here to live."

Some might think asking a woman's age is impolite, but that applies to ordinary people. Jun Wu Xiao and those he knew were far from ordinary.

Jun Wu Xiao nodded, he guessed that Yue Guang had also started cultivating from a young age, though he wasn't sure exactly when she began. 

"How many years have you been cultivating? And how long do you cultivate each day?" Jun Wu Xiao asked. 

His purpose was to compare with himself, as this was his first interaction regarding cultivation. He didn't know if others were like him. When he told Chu Wu, it was just his speculation.

Yue Guang thought for a moment and replied:

"About ten years. I cultivate for twelve hours a day, but after my breakthrough, I've been able to cultivate for fourteen hours a day." 

Jun Wu Xiao found this very similar to his own experience, he thought:

"Could this be a coincidence? Or is there some sort of rule to cultivation? However, it can't be determined with just two people. We can't represent the whole world."

Seeing Jun Wu Xiao deep in thought, Yue Guang asked:

"Hey, what are you thinking about? Is something wrong?"

Jun Wu Xiao, startled by her voice, he responded:

"No, nothing's wrong. It's just that your cultivation time is exactly like mine, so I was just thinking about that."

Yue Guang nodded but seemed uninterested in the topic, instead bringing up another idea:

"Do you want to spar with me?"

Jun Wu Xiao was surprised by Yue Guang's challenge but wouldn't say he was displeased. It was his first time having the opportunity to fight someone nearly as strong as himself, and he was undoubtedly interested.

"Great, but I should mention I've already had my second breakthrough." Jun Wu Xiao said.

Yue Guang placed her hands on her hips, confidently puffing out her chest:

"No problem. I feel the difference between you and me isn't that vast. So, I can definitely fight."

Seeing her confidence, Jun Wu Xiao found no reason to refuse. He asked:

"Are there any rules we need to follow in the fight?"

Yue Guang thought for a moment and then set the rule:

"Very simple, just don't die."

Jun Wu Xiao was momentarily taken aback by her willingness to go to such lengths but liked it. A real fight should indeed be like this. 

"Good, good, good. Let's go outside to prepare." he said.

Yue Guang nodded, and then they both moved outside the cave entrance. After all, they didn't want to cause a mess inside the cave.
