Pain

She breathed in the fresh air as she looked upon her surroundings.

The cherry blossoms draping the sidewalks like spots of snow. The chilly air and the breezy wind that skimmed past her face had made her black raven hair dance in its tune. As much as she wanted to smile, she felt empty within.

Countless words had come to her head but none of it described her pain. She sat there on the bench up the hill looking at the lively couples swing and sing. She had missed those teasing smiles, the flirty looks, and most of the chubby cheeks.

She had lost count of the times they been away from each other. The countless times she had cried. But none of it mattered now. She felt empty. And it became so hard for her that she gave up all the hope.

Sighing she got up from her seat and glanced at the mirror sea in the evening light and the cherry laughs that she wanted to have again. Closing her eyes, she took in this moment. And she turned back again walking to the place they had once called "Home."
