Chapter 37

Vali's body was clutched to the ground, his face was pale, and blood was dripping from all his orifices.

Azazel, who had arrived at his side, breathed a sigh of relief to see that he was still alive.

"If I had known things would end like this, I would never have allowed you to fight." Azazel said with regret in his voice.

Vali who was on the ground seemed not to have heard his words, even though he was wounded all over his body, his eyes were still burning with the flames of battle.

Azazel who saw the flames in his eyes, was about to say something, but suddenly he felt Akira approaching.

"So, that's the power of the White Emperor Dragon?" Akira said with a certain contempt in his tone.

His eyes swept over Vali's injured body, as if he were watching an ant.

'As expected from Issei's future rival, he is really strong.' His thoughts were the complete opposite of his lines with contempt.

His words seemed to come into effect, as Vali when he heard what he said, gritted his teeth as he stood up with difficulty.

"Vali, that's enough! You can't defeat him!" Azazel who was standing next to him, decided to stop this fight, as he did not want Vali to be killed.

"Hmph! Don't meddle in my business." Vali huffed as he pushed Azazel aside.

His injured body seemed to have received some boost as he was able to summon his Balance Breaker again.

"Don't underestimate me!" Vali exclaimed as he launched himself into the air.

"Vali, are you sure you want to do this?" Albion's alarmed voice sounded in Vali's mind.

Vali did not answer Albion, but began a chant that Akira knew very well.

"I, who am about to awaken..."

Akira hearing Vali's chant knew exactly what would happen next, and it only made him even more excited, for with this he could finally test the limits of his power.

Azazel also knew what Vali's chanting meant, and he intended to interrupt it, but just as he was about to approach Vali, he felt an enormous pressure fall on his body.

The pressure was so great that his body was rooted to the ground.

'What the hell is going on?'

Soon he found out where this pressure was coming from, or rather, who was emanating such pressure. And incredibly, this pressure was not coming from the two people in the air.

The pressure was coming from a 'person' that suddenly appeared beside him.

The moment Azazel turned his face to see who this 'person' was that had arrived, his pupils shrank.

"It's been a long time, Azazel."

The stoic voice of the 'person' standing next to him only made his heart tremble even more. He didn't know what had drawn this 'person' here, but he was absolutely certain that if he angered it, not only he but this entire planet would be destroyed.

Unaware of what was happening on the floor, Akira and Vali stared at each other.

To be honest, Akira was staring at him, since Vali had not yet finished his chant.

'Now that I thought of it, but if I attack him while he is performing his chant, wouldn't that be the same as canceling his ability? Damn, why hasn't any protagonist or villain ever done that?'

Of course, even with those thoughts, he still waited for Vali's chant to end.

"I am the White Dragon Emperor who will carry the law into darkness..."

"I walk the path of domination with infinite destruction and crossing the imaginary dream..."

"I will become a pure White Dragon Emperor..."

At some point in Vali's chant, an enormous amount of silver balls of energy circled his armor. Akira knew that this was the remnant of the souls of the ancient Divine Dividing carriers.

"And I will make you obey the silver-white illusions and the perfect evil ways!"

"Juggernaut Drive!!!"

At his shout, Vali's armor began to glow brightly.

His body that was once normal size, quickly began to expand and take the shape of a huge white dragon. It was a magnificent scene and even Akira could not deny that.

"Amazing, it's one thing to watch this from a screen, but seeing it in person.... Now I understand why the Gods fear the Longinus bearers." Akira muttered.

He knew that his Longinus also possessed an ability similar to the Juggernaut Drive, but unfortunately its effects may not be as effective, since everything would depend on the will of the God within the spear.

Vali's transformation into the Juggernaut Drive caused Akira to feel an enormous pressure all over his body. He couldn't measure Vali's increase in strength, but if he had to take a guess, he would say it was at least 100 times stronger than his previous form.

'If I don't take this seriously, I'm going to end up in a grave.'

With those thoughts, Akira knew that there was no longer any reason to hide his strength, besides, the reason he wanted to fight, was first to test his strength, and second because he wanted to show Azazel his Longinus.

Facing the huge dragon coming towards him, Akira clapped his palms together as he conjured a magic circle, quickly a spear came out of the magic circle, causing Vali to stop in his tracks.

"That..."

Even in the Juggernaut Drive, Vali had not lost his rationality, this was because he had completely mastered his Sacred Gear, to the point where he was not afraid to use this forbidden skill.

"Vali, this is 'True Longinus' the strongest Longinus.... I didn't expect the boy in front of us to possess him, even more so when he is a devil." Albion's voice sounded, causing Vali to nod.

"No matter, today I will show that even the strongest Longinus is no match for the White Dragon Emperor."

Saying those words, he advanced at a speed a hundred times faster than when he was in his Balance Breaker.

Akira was unable to react in time to Vali's momentum, which caused him to be grabbed and dragged away.

'What insane speed!'

BOOM!

With a swing of his claws, Vali hurled Akira hard into the ground, causing a huge explosion that sank the ground a few feet deep.

"Cough!"

Akira's back hit the ground hard as he coughed up some blood, this was the first time he had been injured to the point of coughing up blood. The last few times, he only had a little blood dripping from his lips.

'If it wasn't for the King's Piece increasing my powers, I probably would have died the moment he grabbed me.'

With a serious expression, Akira rose from the ground only to be met with a beam of energy that had been shot out of Vali's mouth.

'Damn it!'

As if by reflex, Akira conjured his spheres and used the ability of one of them which was the ability to send an attack sent his way to the opposite direction.

'Sigh! That was by-'

His thoughts were interrupted due to Vali advancing towards him again, but this time he didn't want to grab him with his huge claws, but rather bite him to death.

'Fuck!'

Acting quickly, Akira slammed the handle of his spear heavily into the ground, as a magic circle appeared at his feet.

'Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!"

Soon the magic circle at his feet was weakened to the point of disappearing, forcing Akira to use another ability of his spheres.

Vali was a few inches away from tearing him apart with his mouth, but just as he was preparing to bite him, Akira's body disappeared and reappeared in the sky a few feet away.

"Damn, I didn't expect the Juggernaut Drive to be so powerful."

Akira's heart was beating hard at the feeling of almost being torn apart by Vali. But even though he was near death a few seconds ago, his eyes burned with the will to fight.

It seems he was also a battle maniac.
