6 6-An Extra Round?
After the first noble fight, some of the nobles felt inclined to show their best abilities as well. The fights went as usual. A couple of nobles made a deal to have a showy fight so that both of them look good, the idiots didn't know that the captains were able to tell that the whole thing was an act.
Then it became Yuno's turn, he fought some blond noble who used lightning magic. And it was boring to say the least.
'I wonder if there is a spirit that is compatible with me. It would be cool if I have some sort of spirit dive' - Noah thought as he looked at the four leaf grimoire that Yuno had, and then remembered that he will get a spirit soon, and Asta has a devil, he wants a companion too.
(A/N: Do you think I should make some BS OP spirit for Noah, I'm totally down to do it, maybe even a devil if you want OR since he will be able to absorb nature energy in the future. How about a sage mode kind of thing. Let me know!)
After that the rest of the fights were so boring, Noah actually wanted to do something else other than watching. But every time he tried to sneak off, Nozel would glance at him, and then Noah would have to go back to his place.
Noah was able to make it through the boring and slow fights. But Noah had an idea, he wanted to have some fun, and battle someone. So just as all the battles were over, Noah jumped into the arena.
"What is your brother doing Nozel" - Asked the purple orca captain mockingly
Nozel didn't respond, he just frowned while looking at Noah.
"Hey everyone! My name is Noah Silva, I'm going to add a little segment of my own here. Some of you had a great showing, while others didn't, so I propose that whoever beats me is guarantied a place in the silver eagles squad. And don't worry there will be no hard feelings, if I lose I lose and I won't hold a grudge. So who wants a second chance?" - Noah said with a smirk
Once he said that, all of the contestants started whispering. The first person to step up is none other than the same noble who lost to Yuno.
"This is fun! I wanna do it too!" - Leopold tried to jump in and have a fight as well, but just as he was about to jump, Fuegoleon grabbed him by the collar, "One of you is enough!"
Nozel looked at Vangeance. "He's giving anyone a guarantied spot in your squad, if your ok with it then I don't mind" Vangeance understood what Nozel silently asked.
Leopold then looked at captain Vangeance as well, as if asking for permission to jump in as well. Vangeance just pretended to not see that.
"Greetings sir Noah. Before we start, do I have your assurance that if I were to defeat you there will be no consequences?" - The noble
"Yes, matter of fact, if you do you get a reward so don't hold back" - Noah said as he went to one side of the arena
The reason why none of the captains stopped Noah is because they wanted to see an extra round where some might show their promising abilities, or others may show that they have been overestimated, besides Noah is a royal, even if all of them are magic knight captains they won't just stop Noah, there are only three people who can casually stop him, that is Nozel, and Fuegoleon since they're royals and Vangeance since he was appointed by the wizard king to oversee the exams.
"Then let me introduce myself, My name is..." The noble didn't get to finish
"Cut the unnecessary talk! Lets begin!" - Noah said as he took a fighting stance, but didn't take out his grimoire.
The guy took out his grimoire. He created a ball of lightening and sent it flying towards Noah. Seeing the ball Noah just ran towards the lightning ball. Enhancing his body with mana he just jumped to the side at the last moment, dodging the ball, and then running straight at the noble.
Noah reached the noble and punched him right in the face. The noble was instantly knocked out.
"Come on guys, you can do better right. Hey you four leaf guy! Come over here" - Noah pointed at Yuno
Yuno didn't shy away he stepped up. This time there was no chatter, and Noah faced Yuno.
Yuno opened his grimoire and sent a tornado towards Noah. Over the last few months of training, Noah had developed a few new moves and he wanted to try them out.
Once Noah took out his grimoire people started whispering. They didn't know that Noah also had a four leaf grimoire. The captains were interested in watching two four leaf grimoires fight.
{Ferrofluid magic: Edax Orbs} Noah chanted as three black balls made out of ferrofluid appeared behind him. One of the orbs started rotating at a fast pace and the shape of the ball changed shape and became a tube shaped. The black tube or staff expanded and shot right through the tornado dispelling it.
Yuno jumped back and created multiple wind arrows and sent them towards Noah. Noah grabbed the black staff and it suddenly went from a hard object to a semi liquid state and Noah used it as a whip.
Noah ignored the arrows and sent the whip towards Yuno. As the arrows came closer to Noah, one of the two other balls flung forwards and changed it's chape to an oval shaped disk. The disk took all the arrows and there wasn't even a scratch it.
Yuno tried another attack, he sent a flurry of wind slashes at Noah, but nothing got past the black disk.
Noah sent the black whip at Yuno, but Yuno dodged his attack. The black whip left scars on the ground wherever it went. Yuno kept a close eye on Noah. Since the third ball hasn't moved yet Yuno knew that there was one more trick up Noah's sleeve.
Yuno thought that he was special but now there is someone else who has a four leaf grimoire and that person is the same age, but he was outclassed. Noah had way more mana reserves than Yuno. For his dream to become the wizard king he had many obstacles to over come.
As Yuno was lost in though he suddenly widened his eyes. In that split second when he lost his focus, the third ball disappeared, and Yuno had no idea where it went.
Sending another big attack towards Yuno, Noah pushed Yuno exactly where he wanted him, from under the ground black spikes came out, Yuno tried to dodge, but he was trapped in and then suddenly the black spikes closed in on Yuno trapping him inside a cage. Out of the cage bars more spikes came out that were just a hair's width away from Yuno's skin
"You lost as well. Alright lets have one more battle. You over there with the five leaf grimoire, why don't you come over here" - Noah pointed at Asta as he released Yuno without even looking at him.
Asta had a serious look on his face, and walked out to the center. "It seems your good at the physical aspect of things, lets have a good brawl" - Noah said with a smirk
Asta took out his sword, Noah knew that Asta's power is anti-magic, so his best bet is to hit Asta himself not the sword, but he still wanted to test the sword out.
{Ferrofluid creation magic: Kokken} Noah cast another spell, that was when a black sword formed from hardened ferrofluid appeared in his hand. The sword was very beautiful looking claymore pure black in color with a purple reflection to it.
Asta ran at Noah, but Noah was able to keep up with him. The first time Noah clashed swords with Asta, he expected his sword to break, but surprisingly it didn't.
Noah jumped back and put some distance between them. He looked at his sword and there was no marks what so ever. 'Anti-mana doesn't work on me? No It was absorbed by my ferrofluid. Then lets get a few good swings in' - Noah thought as he ran at Asta.
The next fight was very fast, there were no big spells but the magic knight captains were impressed by Noah and Asta. Yami was of course not happy with their sword forms since it was so sloppy and rigid. No swordsmanship, it was just two kids swinging around sticks. Aside from their poor form, Yami appreciated their physical prowess. For 15 year olds, they're very strong.
Back in the arena Noah targeted the same spot on Asta's sword, he noticed that the rustiness in that area would fade momentarily and then it would go back to normal.
Once Noah got all he needed out of this fight, he increased his speed and power and was able to overwhelm Asta and sent him flying to a wall with a kick.
"This is enough. I guess no one is guarantied a spot in our squad" - Noah said as he approached Asta.
"Hey! What's your name?" - Noah reached his hand to help Asta get up
"My name is Asta" - Asta responded as he took Noah's hand
"Do you mind if I see your grimoire and sword?" - Noah
"uhh...Sure" - Asta gave Noah his grimoire
Holding the grimoire in his hand was a different feeling. This grimoire has a great deal of history around it. After taking a closer look at the grimoire, Noah can feel the energy inside the grimoire, he even absorbed some of it, but nothing changed about his magic.
Then he looked at the sword, grabbing the sword, Noah can feel the same energy inside the sword. Absorbing the energy inside the sword, the sword became pure white. Sending his own magic power into it, the sword turned black, not rusted like Asta's, but deep black with purple shine to it.
Seeing this all of the people around were staring at Noah even the captains, no one knew what he was doing. Vangeance knew that the white sword belonged to Licht but of course he didn't say anything.
After inspecting the sword for a moment, "You're power is very interesting. If you can understand what your power is, I think you might actually become the wizard king" - Noah didn't say that because he liked Asta as a character, but he was saying the truth. In a world where magic is everything, having the ability to cancel magic at will is very OP.
The first time when Asta said he wanted to become the wizard king everyone around laughed at him. But now one of the royals admitted that his unknown power can make him the wizard king. They also took Noah's word for it. Since they saw what Noah just did with the sword, meaning Noah has understood what his power is even if it was just minor understanding.
After that Noah walked back to captains' balcony. Once he got there,
"So do you want to explain yourself? Who gave you the right to guarantee people a place in my squad?" - Nozel said in a slightly angry tone
"I thought since I'm your ever adorable little brother you would let me use the silver eagles name. Anyway I just wanted to fight the other four leaf grimoire holder that's all" - Noah
"You're not a member of my squad. Never use the silver eagles name again" - Nozel
"Besides that, what do you think about the ones you dueled?" - Vangeance
"The first noble is just average. Yuno is not bad, we have to keep in mind the noble had professional training while Yuno is from a village in the forsaken realm and he still lost. As for the short kid. He has a ton of potential. First of all he doesn't use magic. He uses a different type of energy, he uses anti-magic. When his sword makes contact with magic of any kind, the magic gets canceled out. That's why we don't sense magic from him, he has none.
All the captains were staring at Noah. They didn't expect him to casually find a different type of energy that they never heard of before.
"Hahaha you saying that runt can cancel magic out. Sheesh what a freak" - Yami
"Yes. Yuno will do good in the golden dawn. Even if you raise your hand he'll pick the golden dawn anyway. As for the short kid I say let the freak hang out with the rest of the freaks" - Noah said as he looked at captain Yami. Everyone understood what he meant.
"You didn't battle any of the promising ladies out there" - Charlotte chimed in
"If I didn't battle them, then they're either at the same level as the noble or lower" - Noah
"Enough if this. Let's make our selections" - Vangeance
While the captains were going through the examinees, Leopold came closer to Noah,
"Why didn't you tell me you were going to jump in? I could've came too" - Leopold whispered
"If the two of us jumped in one of the captains would've stopped us" - Noah whispered back
"No they wouldn't have stopped us" - Leopold whispered louder
"If people saw two royalty beating up the rest then word would spread that we bully others" - Noah whispered just as loud
"I challenge you to a duel. I'll beat you for leaving me behind!" Leopold whisper shouted
"Bring it anytime Leopold" - Noah whisper shouted back
"Enough you two" - Dorthy spoke for the first time all day.
After a moment of silence, "Hey" Noah whispered to Leopold. "She slept through the exams and the loud battles, but our whispering woke her up?" - Noah whispered to Leopold
"My best guess is she's pretending to be asleep" - Leopold whispered
"But how can one pretend to be asleep for so long and not actually fall asleep" - Noah whispered
"That's the point! You never know when she's asleep and when she's pretending to be asleep" - Leopold whispered
Their conversation was heard by the captains. Yami was laughing a little at the two small idiots. Feugoleon was smiling at them. Dorthy just kept sleeping. Charlotte thought it was cute how these two behave. And lastly Vangeance was paying closer attention to the examinees.
