5 5-Magic Knight Exam

Everyone staired at the descending four leaf grimoire. All of them had a dumbfounded look on their faces. Once the grimoire got close to Noah, he garbed and put in a black leather holder on his belt.

He had a smile on his face. Since he's a fan of Black Clover, he always wanted to have his own grimoire, and now that he has it, he'll only get stronger from here on out.

"Oh Noah, you got a very nice grimoire. We should battle once again to see who is stronger!" - Leopold was the first to break the silence.

"Sure" - Noah responded with a cheerful tone, obviously happy with his grimoire.

After that Mimosa also spoke with Noah. Mimosa is mainly quite and gentle, and she was a little intimidated by Noah at first, but Noah's cheerful personality attracted her little by little, and finally she spoke with him.

While the children were talking and laughing, Leopold was showing off his grimoire, and Noelle was also looking through her grimoire, the adults near the podium were talking.

"It seems the youngest son of the Silva house is as talented as I heard. For him to be chosen by the four leaf grimoire is a testament to his ability" - Fuegoleon

"Yes. Noah is quite the talent" - Nozel nodded in agreement.

After everyone calmed down a bit, they returned to the royal palace, Nozel, Noah and Noelle went towards the Silva side of the palace, while Fuegoleon, Leopold and Mimosa went towards the Vermillion side.

Once Noah got back to the palace, all the maids heard Noelle talking with him about his four leaf grimoire. Quickly the word spread that one of the Silva twins has a four leaf grimoire.

Noah would've been scared if he wasn't a member of the royal family. There is no way anyone would be stupid enough to break into the royal palace, let alone try to kidnap the younger brother of one of the magic knight captains.

Getting his grimoire didn't stop Noah from training harder. He can now record his spells.

Looking through his grimoire, Noah saw that some spells were already recorded in the grimoire. The first spell is {Ferrofluid magic: Perfect slash} Its the black slash that Noah used a few times.

the second spell is {Ferrofluid magic: Black bubble}.

Other than those two basic spells, Noah had nothing else in his grimoire.

'I better fill this grimoire with badass spells' Noah ran to the training ground with his grimoire.

Noah started training his magic to freeze his ferrofluid. The best thing he can do is slow down the movement of the ferrofluid atoms until it hardens. He's been doing that training for sometime, but now he has his grimoire, and that grimoire wasn't just any grimoire, it's the infamous 4 leaf grimoire.

With the boost from his grimoire, Noah was able to master his ability to freeze ferrofluid. But Noah wasn't happy with his product. It felt like the frozen ferrofluid is fragile like a thin piece of ice. He wanted something more powerful, he imagined himself making weapons with his ferrofluid. But this isn't good enough to do that.

'Why am I think of this through logical means? This is magic, there is supposed to be no logic to this. Instead of me slowing down the partials of my ferrofluid, which takes a lot of concentration and magic power. Why don't I just will my ferrofluid to become solid!' Noah had a new idea, and then started practicing.

After a couple of days of training, Noah made a few observations. First his magic is unlike any thing else. First of all the ability to freeze his ferrofluid shouldn't be possible. That's why water magic users can't use Ice magic and the other way around. It's also why Nebra can use mist magic, but not water, even though mist is water in a different state, unlike them he has control over the state of his ferrofluid.

Second, his ferrofluid can do things that normally shouldn't be possible. First thing he learned was to suck the energy out of tree nearby using a strand of ferrofluid. It seems since ferrofluid is a fuel source, he has the ability to use any energy as a fuel source for himself through ferrofluid magic.

'That's crazy! Wait! If I can make ferrofluid solid, can I use it in a vapor form? If I can control black mist, will I be able to drain energy out of my enemies in a certain distance just using the mist. That would be OP as hell'

The more he learned about his magic, the more excited he got.

Time passed and finally it's the day for the magic knights exam.

"Big bro Nozel, can I come with you to the magic knights exam" - Noah

"Humm… Seeing how you haven't left the palace in some time, why not? But why do you want to come" - Nozel

"I'm going to participate, since I want to be a magic knight" - Noah

"Noah, you're royalty. You don't participate in exams. Besides I already arranged the squad you'll be assigned to" - Nozel

"Which squad am I going to?" - Noah 'Please say the black bulls'

"You won't be joining my squad. You will join the black bulls" -Nozel in a slightly sad voice.

Nozel had thought of having Noelle go to the black bulls while taking Noah to the silver eagles. But knowing his brother's personality he knew Noah would insist that Noelle come as well. So even as it pained his heart, Nozel decided to send them to the black bulls.

Even though Noah was happy, he didn't let it show on his face. Noah was happy to join the black bulls. He wanted to join them. As a fan he wanted to be there, Who wouldn't? Besides all the action happens with the black bulls, if Noah joins any other squad he'll miss all the fun.

"Why am I joining the black bulls?" - Noah asked

Thinking that his brother is upset to join the worst squad, Nozel decided to trust Noah. "Listen Noah. I'm sorry that you're stuck with them. But I need you and Noelle out of harms way" Nozel grabbed Noah's shoulders and looked him in the eye. "I can't tell you anything. But all you need to know is to keep yourself safe and take care of your sister, can you do that?" - Nozel. He saw his brother's growth. He trusted Noah, even though Noah had a playful personality, he was mature and Nozel decided to put some trust in him.

"Yes" -That was all Noah said.

After that Noah went to his room and got dressed, he went and found Nozel to start their journey towards the town where the exams are held.

Noah was dressed in a all white suite with a black and gold lining and black shoes. A black leather holster with purple stitching was attached to his belt with his grimoire safely put inside the holster.

Noah and Nozel decided to fly there. Noah was excited. He flew using a broomstick before. But he was always confined to the training ground. Now he gets to fly out in the open and see the world around him.

It didn't take long for them to reach the town where the exams will be.

After they got to the arena where the exams are held, Noah told Nozel that he will go explore the town.

There was still some time until the exams begin, so Nozel allowed it, he told him to make sure to be back for the exams.

On his way out, Noah saw Leopold. He's here with Feugoleon.

"Hey Noah. You here with your brother?" - Leopold

"Yeah. I take it's the same for you" - Noah

"Yep. So what are you up to?" - Leopold

"I'm going to explore the town a bit. Do you wanna come with me?" - Noah

"Let's go! I want to explore the town as well" - Leopold

Both of them walked out of the arena to see lines of people waiting to register.

Seeing two young people, who some nobles recognized as royals, the people started whispering.

Leopold ignored them, while Noah looked in the crowd waiting to see any familiar faces. He saw Sekke. 'I kind of want to take him into the black bulls as a comic relief. I mean it wouldn't be boring with that guy' Noah thought as he walked up to Leopold.

Noah and Leopold walked around the streets. They Tried some of the street food, browsed through the shops, they even stopped a middle aged man from robbing an older lady.

"Hey I think we should get back before we get in trouble for being late" - Noah said to Leopold as they walked through the streets.

"Sure" - Leopold

The two of them made it to the arena just in time to see Asta bump into captain Yami

"Poor kid" - Leopold

"I know right" - Noah

The two of them walked up the captain's balcony and stood behind their brothers as they watched captain Yami scare Asta.

After every thing was over, captain Yami also climbed to the balcony.

"Thank you all for coming. Today I'll be responsible for conducting the knight entrance exam. There will be a series of tests, do your best. The captains will be your judges. Once the exams are over the captains will pick the ones they want to join their squad. If more than one captain choose you, you get to choose which squad you'd like to join. {Magic tree's decent}" Captain Vangeance chanted and then the sky above became dark for a moment, then tree roots descended from the sky. The roots approached each of the examinees and gave them a broomstick each.

"For the first test, you will use the brooms to fly. If you can't fly on a broom then you're not even worth our time. Begin!"

Some were able to float for a bit, some were able to fly while Yuno was able to fly around while standing on his broom. Asta couldn't fly of course.

Next test was the magic power test. This test examinees had to shoot raw mana bullets at a line of stone slabs, the more slabs your magic bullet breaks through the higher your score.

Next was the magic power control test. For this test there were paper with a target drawn on them, floating around. Examinees had to shoot their magic at the target and hit the bullseye, and make sure to not damage any other part of the paper.

Next was the creation magic test. Examinees had a bit of freedom in this test. They were welcome to create any object they liked. The more detailed and well made the object, the higher the points of course.

After was the evelotion magic test. For this one, captain Vangeance cast another spell. This time the examinees got a plant seed. Injecting your magic into it will cause the seed to grow. Depending on the purity of your magic the plant will grow bigger.

After all the test, were Yuno was excelling, while Asta wasn't able to do anything, captain Vangeance moved on to the last test.

"Now we reached the final test. A display of combat abilities, and skills" - Vangeance

"Prepare to duel! You will break into pairs and fight each other! Use your grimoire to attack and defend! As knights, battle is our business, we want to see everything you have to offer!" - Feugoleon jumped in

"The test will end when one of the combatants surrenders or is unable to continue. We have mages with healing magic on stand by, so there is no need to hold back" - Vangeance

The first match was Asta VS Sekke. The whole thing went down exactly as the anime. Sekke got his ass kicked, and was carried by recovery mages after.

The only thing that was different was Noah's facial expression. Noah had a deep frown on his face. During the fight when Asta took out his sword, Noah for the first time felt the presence of a new type of energy.

In the past Noah, using his magic, had found that there is nature energy. This is the energy that causes the likes of the grand magic zones. The more mana naturally present in nature, the more the changes will happen to the environment. The second energy he found was mana. This is found inside every living thing on the planet, Asta being the exception. Mana is found in any living thing. Even plants have them, and regular animals as well. This time Noah felt a new type of energy, anti-mana.

A few more fights went on. Later two other nobles took the stage. This fight surprisingly was a good one. Then it became Yuno's turn.
