Curiosity

To cut the story short, Jazz recorded a video of Gerald kissing a once unknown girl who turned out to be one of the cheerleaders of his basketball team. Gerald was even too generous to share the fact that they coincidentally talked on Omegle and found out they went to the same school which made him think they're sort of destined for each other. What a lame excuse to cheat.

As a token of pent-up annoyance towards Gerald, Jazz anonymously posted the video online which garnered the attention of hundreds of people in and out of their school. Mostly everyone from the school knows about it.

Not only that, Jazz put into good use the writing skills she has honed for the past years which prompted a lengthy, dramatic, and heart-moving post regarding the things Brielle had to endure during the course of their relationship and ending up getting cheated on.

The response coming from the people who saw the post were mixed, some cursed the heck out of Gerald while others sympathized with him and put the blame on Brielle. Despite it all, Gerald seemed to be enjoying the spotlight he is getting and the acquaintance he is getting from his 'more popular' cheerleader girlfriend.

For two weeks, Brielle was devastated. No, devastated is an understatement. Amidst all the bad things that are happening, the fact that it was just a day before the summer vacation starts was a bliss.

Brielle skipped the last day of school after the incident and began locking herself in her bedroom for two weeks, denying every human contact possible. Until Liam arrived to save her this time.

Brielle held tightly on Kitty's leash while the latter rejoiced while sniffing the grass, "So how was studying in Korea like?" She asked, curious because she has never stayed in a foreign country for a long time except their short visits to the Philippines during the holiday season.

It has been the third day since she got back on track to volunteer walking Kitty around the neighborhood. Liam wanted to come with her because it has been a long time ago since he walked around the village. It is partly true but the main reason is that there is a part of him which feels uneasy letting Brielle walk around the streets alone.

He glanced at the purple orange sky and spoke, "It was fun. I made a lot of good and genuine friends. Brielle, the food! Korean food is to die for," Liam slightly shook his head, his tongue unwittingly reminiscing the distinct taste of Korean cuisine which made his stomach grumble, resonating in his ears is the sizzling of pure Korean meat on the grill. He could clearly describe how the savory meat would melt inside his mouth. Samgyupsal was one of the numerous dishes he loved in the country.

"I've seen a lot of good Korean food shown on dramas but I never really tasted one. How lucky you are," Brielle replied, kicking a small stone that got her way while smiling.

Liam laughed which made his prominent Adam's apple bob up and down, he turned to Brielle in his usual thoughtful and melting gaze, "There's a Korean restaurant downtown, an authentic one. I should bring you there some time," He casually said which unbeknownst to him, made Brielle slightly choke. Weirdly, Liam's voice seemed to be having an impact on her now, making her nervous.

Liam is now much taller than she is, manlier. For two minutes, they walked silently while Kitty the golden retriever had the best time of her life sniffing around. At this moment, the sky has already shifted from once a purple hue into a bluer one, getting darker every minute.

Liam has his hands inside his pocket. Brielle has her hair tied into a high-ponytail, the ones that give an instant face-lift. Shorts have always been her favorite clothing piece paired with an oversized shirt. Each of them has a genuine smile etched on their faces.

Brielle has been itching to ask Liam about something but the question kept on escaping her mind. "Liam?" She called his attention because he was immersed in internally recalling memories he had around the neighborhood when he was still a child, mostly traumatic. He instantly turned his head to Brielle's direction, "Uhm, yes?" He spoke warmly.

"For a moment, I almost forgot that we are already here at Zeny's house. I have to drop Kitty off," She said and rushed to bring Kitty to the porch where Zeny is waiting. Kitty wagged her tail rapidly at the sight of her human.

Meanwhile, just a few steps away from Zeny's abode, Liam saw Brielle and Zeny hugging each other tight, Zeny is being grateful to Brielle for doing the things she can't do for Kitty. Brielle bid Kitty goodbye and then took big strides back to where Liam was standing. They still have to walk two blocks before reaching Brielle's house.

They began walking back in a slow pace, "Uhm, I just want to ask you something," Brielle placed her hand on her neck while the other was inside the pocket of her denim shorts, kind of uncertain whether to ask him or not.

"What is it?" Liam asked, his dark brown eyes glimmered as the lamp post's light reflected on his eyes.

As usual, his face looks calm with a permanent smile carved on it. For a moment, Brielle carefully set her eyes on Liam's face. He has this creamy skin complexion, black and perfectly done hair, cherry red lips, thick eyebrows and his signature honest and thoughtful gaze. Not only that, he has a broad shoulder and fit body which made Brielle think that he might have gone to the gym. How stunning he looked right now is way too different than he did before.

Brielle cleared her throat before speaking, "How did you know Gerald cheated on-… me?" There. She spilled it. It was something that intrigued her but never got the chance to ask.
