24 Practice, Practice! (2)

Hey, Shun here!

It seems like the time is nearing for me to have an 'adventure' in another world. I'm feeling rather excited.

I already the bought the presents for the group chat members. I hope they'll like it.

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

(Shun's POV)

Since I can't find the river in the most likely location namely; the western forest, I went back to the first town which is apparently named as the Agann Town. Maybe I didn't look hard enough but I don't want to waste too much time doing that.

Anyway, I wanted to retort about 'Agann' being an old word for 'begin' but let's just leave it at that. Let's just be happy that the devs didn't name it Really New Village or something.

Once I reached the Agann Town, I immediately went to the NPC shops to sell my loots. I only hunted Goblins and such weaker monsters so it came to no one's surprise that I only got 1,000G for my hardwork.

I then went to an NPC owned potion shop to buy some Potions, then went to a shop that sells a Polishing Kit for my [Craftmanship] Sense. After my cumulative Sense Points went over 20, Beginner Potions barely have any effect on me.

After resupplying, I then went to the second likely place to have a river, the eastern forest.

I mean, geographically speaking, it should have a forest since it's nearby a mountainous area, namely the northern area, and its densely populated with trees so you'd think there's a water source somewhere to supply these trees with water.

A few minutes after I arrived deep inside the eastern forest, I walked to a different direction, different to where I usually go.

"If I remember correctly, this should be the path leading to the lair of the boss of the eastern forest, Blade Lizard."

Why am I heading to the lair of a boss, you may ask? Well, it's because there are monsters there called Mash Apes.

Since they are nearby that lair, I figured that there might be a river nearby. Sure enough, as I continued to walk, I finally came across a river.

"Hmm… Wait. The water current is pretty fast in this part. I'll go search for a location with a calmer water current…"

Thus, I spent some time running near the river, searching for a shallow part where I could train the [Swimming] Sense that I acquired after contemplating for a few seconds. I mean, why not?

This is a pretty realistic game so I bet I'll need these Senses later on. It's better to be overly prepared than be surprised when sh** hits the fan, after all.

Five minutes into my search, I finally found a shallow part of the five that's about waist-length.

"Ohh, there really is many Pebbles here! I gotta take these items in order to train my [Enchant Arts], [Craftmanship], and [Crafting Knowledge]."

If my idea ever work, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get rich. Then, I could use the money to buy a plot of land to build a cozy house so that I could relax there or something.

"Yosh! Let's start training!"

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

It was hard. I almost drowned a few times after I got cocky and tried to enter the deeper parts.

After I recovered, I waited for my [Swimming] Sense to reach level 15 before I went to the deeper parts to collect the Pebbles there. I collected so many that I probably got over 5,000 Pebbles sitting in my [Inventory].

Once I got tired of collecting Pebbles, I logged for two hours and ate lunch with my sister, Miu. After she got out of the game, she rushed to the kitchen and stared at me intensely, probably still curious about how I unlocked my special [Bow] [Arts].

She only ate and left with a satisfied smile when I told her about everything that happened.

Of course, before leaving, she didn't forget to remind me of my promise to her this morning.

"Don't forget my curry tonight, okay Onii-chan!?"

"I get it. I won't go back on my promise."

"Yess! That's a promise okay!?"

Seeing her run upstairs like an excited rabbit, I couldn't help but smile wryly.

"That girl… *sigh*. I'll just go and finish cleaning these dishes and then go back to crafting. Then, tonight and tomorrow, I'll train my combat Senses up to speed…"

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

"Hmm… so [Polishing] the Pebbles only requires me to remove the outer skin-like thing of the Pebbles in order to turn the Pebble in to whatever other item."

Currently, I'm stuck polishing 5,000+ Pebbles and turning all of them into other items I could maybe use. So far, majority of the things I got are Peridots of different colors, Bronze Ores, Iron Ores, and of course Stones.

Every time I polish a Pebble, I'll get 3-5 Stones so this is a great start.

"Now that I have quite the number of Stones, let's now try if my conjecture is right. Please, lord above! Please let this work!"

As I said my prayers to the Gods above, I muttered the skill that I was itching to try out on an item ever since I saw it.

""Skill Enchant" — "Enchant" Attack!"

I looked on nervously at the Stone as it slightly glowed. It looks like the experiment was a resounding success!

After setting the activation code to "Power, Up", I tried it out.

""Power, Up"!"

When I said the magic word, the enchantment I placed on the stone activated. In exchange for gaining a buff without spending mana, the stone disintegrated.

"Yoshaaaa! Once I polish these stones more into a portable and easy to hold size, I no longer need to worry about funding in this game…"

Daydreaming about my own holiday house, I couldn't help but smile.

With the success as the driving force, I polished all 5,345x Pebbles. In exchange, I got a total of 22,449x Stones, 2,898x Peridots with 100 of them being Peridots(small) and the rest being Peridots(medium), 1,286x Bronze Ore, 1,061x Iron Ore, and the rest being small chunks of rare ores.

This resulted in my [Crafting Knowledge] and [Crafmanship] Sense to soar in level.

"I have one too many stones, huh. Maybe I should use them on [Synthesis] or something? I wonder, would it work if I use it on my arrows?"

It was such a random thought but I tried it out anyway. I need an upgrade to my arrows, anyway, so its worth a shot. If this works, my efforts was not wasted.

"Umm… Let's try synthesizing it with the Wooden Arrow…"

With a *ziiiing*, a shine of bright light, I received a notification saying that the synthesis was a success. Now, I have a Stone Arrow.

"*whistle*… It looks like Lady Luck is really giving all of her blessing to me today…"

I don't know what to say anymore. I worry that my luck will run out eventually so I stopped my crafting and went on to practice my combat Senses inside the eastern forest.

Once they all reached level 15, I went on to fight the Big Boar one on one. I spent that whole afternoon training.

When the night arrived, after cooking and eating the favorite dish of my little sister, I went back to grinding diligently. Then, when the clock hit 10 pm, I logged out before pulling out my phone from inside my beside drawer.

Sure enough, the [Quest] is today, with only a minute and a half remaining in the timer.

"Guess I'll have to change my clothes now…"

I already arranged my luggage earlier thing morning, complete with my presents for all of them. I quickly changed my clothes before getting ahold of my luggage and looking at the group chat.

✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽✽

Following the instructions, I pointed my smartphone at my room's door. When I did, a portal-like thing that is showing some funny images of my reflection appeared.

"What's with this portal?"

Even though I questioned it for a bit, I still picked up all of my luggage before passing through the portal. It's not the adventure I am looking for but I guess it will come in time.

For now, going to another world to play another Virtual Reality Game is all that our [Dimensional Group Chat] could offer.
