New Items, At Last!

I'm really not a fan of games like StarCraft as it doesn't really strike me as well as the guys who really liked the game in of itself. I didn't really like to do too much micromanagement. Too troublesome.

Games like Dota, I could enjoy, but should I say that it is also quite the strategical game? Superior mechanics isn't always rewarded after all.

What I really liked to play the most would be FPS games(maybe you could include Dota since I also enjoyed playing it at times). Having hot blooded moments is fun, after all.

(Shun's POV)

After resting for five minutes, I stood up and approached the chest that was left at the nest of the Humming Tempest.

"I wonder what this contains. I'm pretty sure it will have the Quest Item… I just hope there will be an item for me here…"

I muttered while opening the chest slowly.

With a dramatic show of light, the treasure chest opened, leaving me no choice but to close my eyes and try to get the feel for the treasure with my own hands inside—trying to get the items. In no time at all, I got the notification regarding me receiving a few items.

「You received 30x Humming Tempest's Feathers」

「You received 1x Windchaser's Silver Scarf」

「You received 1x Crystal Tree's Branch」

「You received 500,000G」

"Oh? It's a new item?"

Looking at the item description, it looks like this one counts as a headgear.

Description:

A special equipment made for the first conqueror of the Tempest's Hidden Dungeon. With it's blessing of the wind, it grants the user a faster speed. It automatically repairs by consuming some of the user's mana.

"That's too much of a bonus for a headgear. The heck's with this scarf? It's too strong…"

Well, it's not like I'm complaining though. I welcome any good item at this point.

Equipping this new item, I of course didn't feel any changes. I guess I'm supposed to feel the changes when I received damage, use my bow, or run.

Anyway, I suppose this is the item that the old sir needs.

✽✽[Crystal Tree's Branch(Important)]✽✽

Item Type: Quest Item

Description:

A tree that seems like a crystal. It grows only a centimeter per year. Trees beyond the stature of a human are thought to be more than hundred fifty years old. In this world, however, it appears that thousand-years-old crystal trees exist.

It's the size of a pinky finger but this is supposed to be a branch? Also, what's with its growth rate?

No one would be able to tell if this thing is a tree branch at all by how small it is. A branch of a bonsai-d tree, maybe, but you get the point!

"Anyway, let's just go and finish the quest. I don't want to come late, only to find out that the old sir is dead…"

Once I was done with looting, I stepped on the portal that appeared at the end of the cave after I slayed the Humming Tempest and left that place for good.

After leaving the cave, I retraced my previous path. Because of my new item and my leveled up Senses, I quickly managed to reach the old man who seems to be in his last breath.

The increased level of my Senses helped me travel at a much faster speed than when I went to the cave earlier.

When I arrived, the old man showed a weak smile at me before beckoning me to sit beside him.

"*cough*… It looks like you managed to get the item…"

"Yes, sir. It's this one, sir…"

I showed him the branch of the crystal tree, thinking that he will take it from me. However, after looking at it for some time, he gave it back to me.

With a smile on his old face, he said.

"Thank you for showing me that item, young man. It looks like the item my beloved other half is searching for is certainly this thing… The key to another mystery…"

"Mystery?"

"Hohoho… *cough* *cough*. It's something that you'll know eventually young one. Now, I need to show you my gratitude for completing this unreasonable request of mine, right?" The old man tried his best to show a smile to me even though he is already struggling to even speak.

「You completed the quest [Investigate the Silver Fiend's Lair]」

When that notification resounded beside my ear, the old man took the old-looking bow beside him and handed it out to me. It's looks like a bow that's gonna break if you so much as pull the string weakly.

"Here is the bow that I've been using during my adventuring days. Receive it." The old man seems to have sensed my skepticism as he once again smiled at me.

"Don't worry, it's not some simple old bow. I'm sure you'll be surprised once it accepts you…" Accepts? What does he mean?

"Thank you, sir…"

I humbly received the bow from the old man. After the bow touched my hands, I felt some kind of connection with it form. As if it wants to celebrate getting a new owner, the bow shone brightly.

After a while, when the light dissipated, the bow made out of an old, decaying wood, is nowhere to be found, replaced by a dazzling longbow with silver colored limbs and green outlines. Its tips have what seems to be a milky white colored feather design.

Unlike the gorgeous silver color of the longbow's body, the longbow's strings are black in color, contrasting the whole 'light' color scheme of the bow's body.

「You received a unique item that only belongs to you…」

「The additional effect of this weapon is that you can add 15 additional effects into it…」

「Because this is a unique equipment, it cannot be stolen, it cannot be broken…」

「Although you can delete additional effects freely, if you want to grant them once again, you need to have it undergo the same process the second time…」

✽✽[Windbreaker's Silver Longbow]✽✽

Equipment Type: Weapon(Bow)

Description:

A special equipment granted to the first and last person to complete the [Investigate the Silver Fiend's Lair] quest. With it's blessing of the wind, it grants the arrows fired through it wind enchantment, granting each arrow extra magic damage and faster projectile speed.

MIND +40

Additional Effect(s):

ATK Bonus

Enchantment: Wind MAG Damage

Whoah, whoah! What the heck is with this broken item and its broken effects!? It's a unique item only I can have while the additional effect of being fully customizable is like its asking me to be more adventurous and find all the things I could mount in here.

"Thank you for helping me young man. I can now pass without any worries. Take care of my beloved bow for me…"

While I'm still stunned and dazed at seeing this bow's stats, the old man suddenly began talking to me. When I looked at his direction, I saw him slowly vanish in front of my eyes.

With a resolute expression on my face, I looked at the old man reassured him.

"Don't worry old sir. I'll take good care of your bow! Thank you for giving me this precious item." I stood up from my sitting position and bowed deeply at the slowly disappearing old man. Thank you, really.

(Third Person's POV)

Inside an office located in an unknown location, a person who's looking at his monitor with a bored expression suddenly jumped up.

"Someone actually managed to beat that freaky Humming Tempest after two days of the game's release!?"

This man's frantic shouts earned the attention of many of his colleagues.

"What!? Someone killed that after two days? How is that even humanly possible!? If I'm not wrong, you can't kill it without having at least an average of level 30 in all of your combat Senses!"

"It's someone called 'Syunpo Panda'."

"Syunpo Panda? Who's that?" The man asked with an incredulous expression on his face.

He don't ever remember any beta player with that name.

"It's a guy wearing a full set of newbie gear."

"Haa!?"

After giving my salutations to the old man NPC, I eventually decided to move on. The thing I did is check my status.

Since I never checked my status after my long drawn fights against the Humming Gales, only checking it after the battle with the boss, I felt very surprised. No wonder I got so many notifications about some sort of upgrade.

I now have 20+ cumulative SPs so I guess I could now rearrange my build earnestly.

The first on my to do list is to take my derivation Senses. Well, I said all but it's really just one right now.

「[Bow] Sense has reached Lv 30 or higher…」

「Do you want to consume 3 SPs to obtained the derivative Sense [Short Bow]?」

「Do you want to consume 3 SPs to obtained the derivative Sense [Compound Bow]?」

「Do you want to consume 3 SPs to obtained the derivative Sense [Long Bow]?」

I could only choose one. But of course, there's already an obvious choice.

「You gained the derivative Sense [Long Bow]…」

After that, I merged my [Magic Power] and [Magic Talent] Sense for the [Sorcery] Sense. Then, I gained the Higher Sense of [Enchant] called [Enchant Arts].

In total, I spent 9 SPs for the upgrades.

Then, I also gained the Senses called [Equipment Weight Reduction] and [Action Restriction Release] for 2 SPs each. It's the Senses that would allow me to really move around and perform acrobatics while using the bow.

After a fairly massive overhaul, my Sense build now looks like this.

※ Damn, it's really hard to keep track of the Senses, much less make sense of the barely helpful info on the fandom wiki. I had to reread through six(6) volumes(for now) of the original novel to actually make and have an idea as to what the game's map looks like.
