What He Already Knew

NO NO NO this can't be true.

How I wish you were right but, I checked your chakra system there is no chakra in it.

A little boy could be seen in the streets of Konoha running away from what appeared to be nothing. From the outside that is, what looked to be nothing was something and that something just jeopardized this little mans shinobi career. What had happened was simple, Naruto was having trouble activating his chakra so the 3rd hokage was checking Naruto's chakra system to make sure the nine tails wasn't effecting him. When the 3rd hokage looked at Naruto's chakra system he had expected to see all of Naruto's chakra being used to block the nine tails chakra, but in reality Naruto simply did not have chakra. This information was most devastating to Naruto himself, because all he ever wanted to do was learn some cool powerful justu and then become hokage.

Hiruzen Sarutobi was in so much aw, terror, and pride that he did not know what emotion to feel. He was in aw and pride because for Naruto to suppress the nine tails chakra without any chakra of his own meant that Naruto was suppressing the most powerful beast in the world with just will power. Hiruzen doubted any of the previous hokages could do that much less a 3 year old, hated, orphan that was abused almost daily.

If I were to talk about Naruto's life up to this point any experienced Kage would through up. So all you need to know is that the orphanage kicked him out at 7 months old and He lived on the streets until he finally decided to stop pretending he was still in the orphanage. The only reason he hid that he was living on the streets was because he wanted to protect the people at the orphanage.

When Naruto was kicked out of the orphanage there wasn't a huge change of lifestyle, emotion, or personalty. He knew that he was the vessel of the nine tailed fox and that he had no chakra, but He acted surprised when the third hokage told him that he had no chakra to keep up his mask. To tell the truth it wasn't much of a literal of figurative mask and the only thing it shielded from view was knowledge and power. His emotions were the same under and on top of his mask, a kind selfless small kid who would sacrifice himself for anyone.
