Tess kept a clueless look on her face which contrasted with the scheming in her head. Her mind jammed trying to find something to say to shift the unwanted conversation that would come. 

Keeping silent for too long after someone said she had a demon that needed not to be triggered would only raise suspicion. But what could she say with both those elders present? Her hands began to shake when her mind thought of nothing else than charging out of the room. 

"Cadets, suit up and report to the mission base."

Sensei's voice was the saving grace she needed. His face was displayed on a hologram tab above the glass orb and the green vortex that appeared widened in front of the door. 

His face turned to one side and he said, "Elders, apologies for the intrusion but this session will have to be continued some other time. I have a time-sensitive assignment for the guardians."
