The slime's growth.

Edric continued to experiment with essence for a month, while having his emotions activated, familiarizing himself with how to use it.

There are two things he discovered in this time.

Firstly, while he could manually move essence like it's a fisical object, it's way more efficient to just think about what you want to do with it because essence reacts to intent.

Secondly, He has yet to find a limit to what essence can do, but he finds his essence capacity lacking for the more complex things. He also realized that most beings near him can't do anything complex with essence, mostly amplifying their bodies capabilities.

Thanks to these discoveries, he is now able to use essence in any way his capacity enables him to, though it drains his capacity very quickly.

He also hasn't found any living being with as much essence as the humanoid he saw on his first day on this universe.

As for his stats, they have increased like this

He hasn't been able to increase his essence capacity due to a lack of beings with more essence than him.

As for the red slime he found before, he has been feeding it corpses and it is now as big as a medium sized dog, and its intelligence has been growing as well. it has started imitating Edric's behavior and looks, although it only vaguely resembled him, and its eyes and hair were red.

Edric has been trying to teach the slime how to speak but he hasn't been able to do it, it can only repeat words, although it seems to know Edric's name, calling him when he goes far away from him.

And so, Edric continued to explore the world and experiment. Now alongside the red slime.

Edric was experimenting with essence, commanding beasts and making them fight each other.

He was trying to see the limits of his ability to control them.

He had already tried making them kill themselves, but it seemed as though he couldn't do that just yet.

He could make them kill each other though, as long as they were of different species.

He waited until there were no longer any more breathing.

There was one beast that survived, the strongest of them all, he was about to kill it off when he decided to do something else instead.

He looked at the slime that vaguely resembled a human child, and said.

[You need to gain your meals.]

He then observed the slime fight the beast, and when the fight was over slime looked at him.

[You can eat.] He said while smiling.

The slime looked happy and then started eating.

when Edric saw that, he thought it was cute.

-Three weeks later-

Edric was inside a lake with a beautiful waterfall, thinking about new ways to use essence when he heard his named being called.

[Edric, Edric come here!] Said a children's voice.

(Hmm. What happened?) Edric wondered as he stood up.

When he walked towards the voice he saw a red haired "child" pointing towards a stone structure.

He told the child [good job, I didn't see this] even though he had already noticed the structure.

The child smiled and hugged him.

(This slime has become quite fond of me, hasn't it? maybe I should give it a name soon.) Thought Edric.

He hugged the child back and smiled.

He then looked at the ruin and thought.

(I wasn't able to feel it until it was at a distance of one kilometers from me, that must mean it's quite hidden...)

Edric's senses were basically the best, but he still wasn't able to feel that untill he reached that distance, and he hasn't seen any ruins besides these in his time in this continent.

Meaning, these ruins must be quite special.
